I dont normally commet on videos, but I have now watched 3 of your videos to help me prepare for my Japan trip, and your explanations and detail is just amazing and so helpful. Thank you for your anazing efforts 👌
Excellent tips, Mike, your channel is amazing. Can I buy a Suica card by app, in the phone, or I can just by at a counter? Thank you!!! Congratulations on the channel!!!!
Hey Mike, awesome video! Quick question on the topic of eating/drinking. Is eating and drinking while walking not customary? Also, drinking beer right outside, although legal, is frowned upon right? Thanks in advance!
Hi,thank you for your helpful video, can I ask you for a help?how to ride a train from Narita Airport to machiya tokyo station?i hope you will hep me thank you
I am coming to Japan soon. This is my first time coming there. Do you know the different between apa hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho hagashi and apa hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho tower? What is the distance between them? I heard that Kabukicho surrounding area is not that great at night. Is it true? How about apa nihombashi hotel?
You're welcome! IC card is the general name for cards with an IC chip, commonly for public transportation. Pasmo card is just one type of IC card, like the Suica card.
That would depend on how much traveling you will be doing via train during the entire trip and if it ends up costing more in total. It could allow you to even go to Hiroshima, stop at Nagoya or even do 2 return trips from Tokyo.
Hi Faye, thank you for the comment. I'm actually going to upload a new video regarding entering Japan very soon to hopefully answer your question. And yes, there is a new app called Fast Track.

Your Aussie accent was much more prominent in this video--and great content, too! Thanks, Mike!
Thank you. I don't think I have a strong aussie accent but thanks for picking it up!
I noticed it in the first video I seen of his and it is a bit more noticeable in this one. I of course love the accent 😉

But the foods in convenience stores are mostly ultra processed foods, right?
Thank you for the video…i have question what is the different between ic card and pasmo card?

Thanks for the info. If I travel to Osaka and Kyoto from Tokyo, and return to Tokyo in 2 weeks, is it still a good idea to purchase a 2-week JR pass?

This is helpful! May I ask what are the documents that I need to present upon entering Japan. Like a QR code or app that I need to download?
