low pass filter cut for when the sound is "behind" you.

Here's the alternative approach to immersive audio mixing for headphones is Dolby Atmos.
Dolby Atmos is a surround sound format that adds height channels.
To get that immersion of your songs, you need multitrack stems. If you don't have it, you can create your own from the project on the DAW of your choosing.
Here are the 3 methods to use the Dolby Atmos Renderer:
Method 1: Dolby Atmos Renderer app + DAW + Dolby Atmos Music Panner
Method 2: DAW with Internal Dolby Atmos Renderer
Method 3: DAW + Dolby Atmos Composer (if the DAW doesn't have Dolby Atmos Renderer built in)
Now you can choose what you can run based on the computer that you have and the multitrack stems, so now you can mess around with your tracks. Freely pan all around you and play around with binaural settings.

I was high as fuck watching this. I got curious how to create this effect. That first door knock sounded like someone was knocking on my front door. After I had just smoked a joint on my front porch. I've never been the type to be paranoid while high. Until that very moment. Knock knock knock. I live a block away from the police station and three churches. The middle school is a block away as well. My heart jumped. The sudden dread of the terror that is about to ensue. I might add that I am using my Jabra Elite 65t bluetooth earbuds.
