She is very polarising it seems. Many of the average players seem to dislike her, while more advanced players feel exactly the opposite. And then there is me, someone with skill issues that still loves her!
Yeah. I love her myself but I can definitely see why some people don't. It's just that I like the level of challenge her playstyle has. It keeps things fun.
i can see both sides. she does have clunkiness relative to how you perceive the game. like, she feels horrible if you somehow get scuffed by missing shark bite, ult taking a long time, etc, but her payoff and ability to speedrun if you *don’t* get diffed is really nice. she’s kinda like lyney in that sense. i love mualani a lot
I discovered most of the same things as you did in my own speedrun, i used mona though. Notable differences: 1) The kazu stagger is inconsistent, i can get the fatui to stop shielding, but they will try again 3s later and xl's pyronado tends to juggle them apart instead of keeping it together 2) kazu-mona will break the shields instantly if they shield up but the run will still take 10s longer (28s) due to the animations. 3) with enough resetting the fatui will still go down before shielding up yeah 4) in 12.2 i think you can save a few seconds with guoba E -> kazuha E -> mualani E + 1 shark. This does skip the VV buff and kachina buff but you should have enough damage to 1-shark the mushrooms (they have low hp). At least, this was true for me, my mualani was able to 1-shark them in an unbuffed vape 3) Guoba's (lack) of pyro app is actually a blessing bcos of easier hydro swirling as you said 4) So the advantage in a second hydro is not really their buffs, but that the +25% hp and 40EM (if they wear floating dreams) is completely passive and will potentially speed up your clear time, even though kachina is very fast at 1s, 0s is even better 5) thats why mona with dreams is better (higher cost run though), also why candace is better. Also barbara again like last abyss. 6) The funny thing is actually using mona's skill and buff will slow down clear times, due to animation. For this abyss it seems best to just have short setups, bcos 20% hp and 80% na damage for free will carry.
I got her C1 and for now I'm running her with favge C0 Nahida, sac sword Dehya on instructor (she is C6, but it doesn't really matter for this team comp xD) and C4 Mona with prototype amber. I find it pretty cool and easy to play, cuz when I don't wanna use Monas ult it still perform good enough to kill many, but not that tanky enemies. The most of the time I don't even need healing from PA, but u know, just in case 😅 the last cycle with this setup I did 1,17mln dmg on PMA. 😂 btw I think we should be able to disable theater buffs, the most of the times abyss cards or blessing is enough, it make me feel like I do not use character I own. I actually prefer this team with Mona on Pamber instead of Kachina - you get the omen, hydro resonance, and healing all at the same time. What I'm hoping for is a Xiangling replacement - a pyro off-fielder that can proc the full Cinder City effect - hopefully we're getting that soon.
Everyone's mentioning that Mualani's getting insane buffs, but after these buffs are gone, if mavuika is really the BiS pyro support for Mualani, she'll still be top tier without any abyss/IT buffs. Or if Mavuika is DPS and useless for Mualani, she will still be really good, but maybe not in the running for the best DPS character. Anyways, idk anything about the game, I'm just yapping 🤣
Look up last abyss Mualani speedruns, she was destroying everyone at similar or lower cost, and many of those runs dont use burning which was the blessing. That abyss is also multiwave which is her weak point too 😂 she did get IT buff but that’s compensated by the everyone not having a good set of her artifacts yet
Mavuika is suppose to be ATK% support id think other than pyro app(also arti) she will provide anything . Unless she specifically buff natlan's character💀

i would love to see you try a Overspread team on kinnich as i've been trying to find videos on it but it seems no one has tried it yet. I feel like if you can get a slow pyro like thoma and a fast electro like Fischl (last slot can be any bennet or emillie), you should be able to get enough burning while still getting some spread. The spread damage on the big cannon hits could potentially give kinnich just that little bit of oomf to compeat with mualani plus it seems like a really cool team archetype with both kinnich and emillie getting some nasty damage numbers
Sounds cool. I doubt it'll make him mualani. Spread isn't vape. It just adds another scaling alongside your damage. Kinich also has very slow application actually. I heard it's like, every 2 seconds. If we compare it to a furina buff in like, Bennett xiangling team. I doubt spread can keep up because you'd rather buff kinichs own high raw damage than spreads extra damage. And he triggers spread so little....
If you have C2 furina, you can do some jank with furina, kazuha, xiangling, where you switch to furina heal mode. You can get a decent amount of stacks with just her heals even in the 2nd rotation and afterwards, often even full 400 if the enemy is aggressive. I'm getting some insane numbers on first 2 vapes, 3rd vape runs out of kazuha buff. This is basically a walmart version of what xilonen version will be, cuz her buffs should cover all of the vapes.

This is just enough to have full kazuha buff for first 2 vapes, but i find swirling hydro after XL burst very inconsistent even if i stay in furina 3 pet mode, so can't get it for the third vape. But then again, xilonen will cover even mualani Q vape, which is crazy long uptime ngl
i just pulled her for world exploration lol, even with my meh build running the obsidian set with 50/120 and 1/8/8 and the 4 star you get from the mail rewards she somehow still does 150k vapes, funny thing is i use this exact team in my overworld exploration
she IS being heavily buffed in this abyss though. like a free c2 furina burst in her team. that said, she still became my main on my second account. there's no denying her power and fun factor. tbh i think she is a bit too strong and should probably have been nerfed further in beta. oh well.
i talk about the buffs near the end of the video. those buffs are strong but are just pulling her even further ahead she doesn't need them. For context the fastest mualani 3-4 cost runs are getting similar times to many other teams c6 whale runs

I find Mualani great just for freeing a bennett team or even a furina team. I played shieldfei pamber for funnily enough batterying Xiangling for pyronado every rotation with any of the buffers. Best results with my bad build mualani is still Furina kazuha though.
Tbh, i think she is the best dps atm. Her power at every cost level is way too much lol. 1 cost, broken. 2 cost, u go c1 and broken. 3 cost, u go c1r1 and again, broken. 4 cost, U go c2r1 and all hell gets loose. @@sleighedslayed4484 the thing is she is a bif number dps but not like eula or raiden, both of thoes characters have problems becouse their ult can easily miss and there is always rng with criting while with mualani and her sig set you can easily get 100% crit rate so your not missing any crits plus her skill literally deals the dmg rhat raiden and eula do in their whole burst plus she can do it 3-5 times lol( mine can hit around 500-600k with normals so thats around 1.5-1.7 mill dmg in 10 sec)

Hi Michael, I really enjoy playing them both so it’s hard to compare. I guess mualani hits harder and more flexible but navia teams are more tanky and easier to play. And I don’t find mualani clunky outside of her accuracy bugs which hopefully hoyo address and fix
Just for asking, about the blessing, which means Mualani can get double buff from elemental skill because the shark bite is considered as a normal attack?
I find this team kinda lacking in sustain for general play. I like Baizhu as a healer for her but I have him at C2 (and triple crowned, I may have a problem with this coughing boy), and it's super hard to setup vv with him, so in the end I am running nahida baizhu for EM buffs instead %)
@@Fabio-xd9rx She was still buffs by IT but now she get 2 buffs. It never happens in the past, even Neuvillette didn't get buffs as much as her when he was release (his buff was already insane).
@@Camelia437 I understand your point about the 5.0 , but even without the IT buff, which is 20% HP, she would still perform similarly in 4.8. We also have to consider that she's not yet at her maximum team potential, people don't have her new full set maximized, there's still a lot to improve, that's my point here.
Last abyss was 15% crit rate and 30% crit damage from burning which isn't a team where Mualani fast clear was done. Previous abyssal moon buff was irrelevant.
What people love about International minus the sustain and numerous resets with how frontloaded all her damage is 😂 I didn't expect MHY to up the bar that soon when Neuvillette had just released last year but Natlan's more or less breaking the rules set compared to other patches (unit power level wise at least). Though with how full of resets her gameplay is, I can see why her gameplay might not be appealing. I think Kinich may be preferable because he isn't that dependent on nuking.
mualani is a character perfectly designed for sweaty players, but maybe not for everyone. although she is also great in the story and in natlan exploration 😅

Regarding mualani A4 passive when a party member trigger nightsoul burst. Does it mean that the party member need to use their burst for her passive to active or E alone is enough to trigger it?
it's not super secret or anything, but a number of things don't actually go on cooldown when you open menus like the handbook (with the two big ones being the cooldown to swap between characters and energy particles). as an example of this, on chamber 2 when the terrorshroom spawns, he uses the handbook to swap faster between XL and kazuha

It is a mualani normal attack swap cancel. Kind of like Klee normal attack but to be fair you can't see it in the video because of the domain key thing
People are right that the abyss blessings are huge. That's how hoyo dictates who the best dps is at any moment. They can literally turn hydro traveler into the best dps if they want to (ok maybe not).
How many tries do you need to pull of this speedruns? She seems to be perfect for speedrunning, but this abyss is very misleading. Those buffs you have mentioned are huge. 80%dmg and 25% hp is probably more than 30% dmg increase.

Anyway, Mualani get a higher buffs than no one else got in the past: IT + crazy abyss blessing (even more than Neuvillette release abyss blessing). Right now, Mualani can do big nuke in abyss with mono hydro (Furina + Kazuha + Sigewinne) and the new 4 stars Natlan weapon. No need to vaporize with Mualani... I would like to know if it will stay the same or not after all buffs remove...

The blessing + theater buff still changes her very significantly I'm curious to how she'll perform in future abysses but in this abyss, I find her strong, I play VV vape with Sucrose and Xiangling a bunch, I was playing Kazuha more initially but I started playing Sucrose more than him as soon as I tried her Also, I tried my best to make Furina work in the last slot with some dmg/healing mode swapping but it's not worth it in my opinion (at least C0 Furina) Also, not that it matters, but how do you C6 Katchina ?

@@banjoowo4001because the times in these videos are not achieved first try, they take hours of resets usually. Mualani is clunky as hell and needs practice of perfect set ups for each chamber. Neuvillette will be able to get good enough times not too far off probably on his first try or at least first few tries.

When the book is open, the game is "paused" (including the abyss timer).... but particles still flow to the character. What that means is that you can do something like generate some favonious particles, swap to your Xiangling or whatever, book, and unbook and she would have caught the particles without "wasting" the seconds on the timer doing nothing on her waiting for the particles to arrive.

Im so glad they didnt release her in her v1 form cuz even without her v1 form she is the best dps in the game. Imagine her with her v1.

@@sleighedslayed4484 the thing is she is a bif number dps but not like eula or raiden, both of thoes characters have problems becouse their ult can easily miss and there is always rng with criting while with mualani and her sig set you can easily get 100% crit rate so your not missing any crits plus her skill literally deals the dmg rhat raiden and eula do in their whole burst plus she can do it 3-5 times lol( mine can hit around 500-600k with normals so thats around 1.5-1.7 mill dmg in 10 sec)

She is the hypercarriest of hypercarry. All the team damage is almost solely on her.

Hi Michael, I really enjoy playing them both so it’s hard to compare. I guess mualani hits harder and more flexible but navia teams are more tanky and easier to play. And I don’t find mualani clunky outside of her accuracy bugs which hopefully hoyo address and fix
Just for asking, about the blessing, which means Mualani can get double buff from elemental skill because the shark bite is considered as a normal attack?
I find this team kinda lacking in sustain for general play. I like Baizhu as a healer for her but I have him at C2 (and triple crowned, I may have a problem with this coughing boy), and it's super hard to setup vv with him, so in the end I am running nahida baizhu for EM buffs instead %)
She’s getting buffed so heavily in this abyss I can’t take it seriously
Look at her runs in 4.8, even without the Abyss buff, she's still destroying and being pretty fast.

It never happens in the past, even Neuvillette didn't get buffs as much as her when he was release (his buff was already insane).

@@Camelia437 I understand your point about the 5.0 , but even without the IT buff, which is 20% HP, she would still perform similarly in 4.8. We also have to consider that she's not yet at her maximum team potential, people don't have her new full set maximized, there's still a lot to improve, that's my point here.
Last abyss was 15% crit rate and 30% crit damage from burning which isn't a team where Mualani fast clear was done. Previous abyssal moon buff was irrelevant.
What people love about International minus the sustain and numerous resets with how frontloaded all her damage is 😂
I didn't expect MHY to up the bar that soon when Neuvillette had just released last year but Natlan's more or less breaking the rules set compared to other patches (unit power level wise at least). Though with how full of resets her gameplay is, I can see why her gameplay might not be appealing. I think Kinich may be preferable because he isn't that dependent on nuking.
mualani is a character perfectly designed for sweaty players, but maybe not for everyone. although she is also great in the story and in natlan exploration 😅
What do you think about mualani, furina, jean (i dont have baizhu TT), xl? I think Furina+jean can match the 75% from kazuha+kachina

Mualani is on par with Neuvilette with covering multi target, just in different ways. Only thing she cannot be compared to is spin-villette.
I mean, if she wasn't dominating speedruns with the easy abyss and the blessing, I'd be a bit worried.

why were you going into the adventure handbook screen? is that some secret tech?
it's not super secret or anything, but a number of things don't actually go on cooldown when you open menus like the handbook (with the two big ones being the cooldown to swap between characters and energy particles). as an example of this, on chamber 2 when the terrorshroom spawns, he uses the handbook to swap faster between XL and kazuha

People are right that the abyss blessings are huge. That's how hoyo dictates who the best dps is at any moment. They can literally turn hydro traveler into the best dps if they want to (ok maybe not).

How many tries do you need to pull of this speedruns? She seems to be perfect for speedrunning, but this abyss is very misleading. Those buffs you have mentioned are huge. 80%dmg and 25% hp is probably more than 30% dmg increase.

Right now, Mualani can do big nuke in abyss with mono hydro (Furina + Kazuha + Sigewinne) and the new 4 stars Natlan weapon. No need to vaporize with Mualani...

The blessing + theater buff still changes her very significantly I'm curious to how she'll perform in future abysses but in this abyss, I find her strong, I play VV vape with Sucrose and Xiangling a bunch, I was playing Kazuha more initially but I started playing Sucrose more than him as soon as I tried her
Also, I tried my best to make Furina work in the last slot with some dmg/healing mode swapping but it's not worth it in my opinion (at least C0 Furina)

@@banjoowo4001because the times in these videos are not achieved first try, they take hours of resets usually. Mualani is clunky as hell and needs practice of perfect set ups for each chamber. Neuvillette will be able to get good enough times not too far off probably on his first try or at least first few tries.

When the book is open, the game is "paused" (including the abyss timer).... but particles still flow to the character. What that means is that you can do something like generate some favonious particles, swap to your Xiangling or whatever, book, and unbook and she would have caught the particles without "wasting" the seconds on the timer doing nothing on her waiting for the particles to arrive.
