Keep in mind that the (broken) and stolen artifacts from Cambodia "can never" be restored to their originality since the original quality of the products had been damaged and destroyed. How can these thieves, the looters, feel good when they look at the stolen products knowing that they are criminals of the most despicable class? I was in Cambodia two months ago and some of the statues I have photos of. I thought the head or body parts missing was due to age and not looting. So sad this happened, but very happy they are all going back to the Cambodian people who are so kind. I loved my visit there.

It's hard and expensive to integrate a laser system strong enough to effectively hit drones and other objects from long range. During the interview with the museum director around 36:00 the interviewer asked difficult questions in a manner which made the director squirm - not pleasant to watch. He compared the museum’s attitude and actions to those of the government investigators who were documenting criminal activity. In essence, he was demanding to know why the museum hadn’t immediately returned the antiquities to Cambodia. This kind of aggressive questioning may titillate viewers who desire to see conflict, but a more nuanced and sensitive line of questioning could have helped us better see inside the mind of the museum administrator and better understand the reasons for their approach. Then viewers could have decided for themselves what to think about everyone’s actions, rather than being fed judgement and outrage by this interviewer.

I was a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I quit after seeing their theft of foreign artifacts and racist treatment on the reporting on the antiquities. They actually had a sign up indicating that the Egyptian art that showed Black figures was inaccurate and a result of the paint discoloring. Artworks that have existed for several millenia all of a sudden were discolored? And ONLY those depicting Black people? You see the attitude of these people when they admit that they have stolen property, but won't give it all back. Imagine if they had Israeli artifacts. Would that still be their stance?
If they are the "soul" of the country, why were they relegated to being buried in the ground? Don't seem too treasured. The museum should be lauded for obtaining the pieces to preserve them.

Museums don’t incentivize theft. Their rich donor base does so. Art pieces are donated and bought , regardless where and how they were obtained , through endowments and donations.

Any sort of light, including laser, get weaker the further they are away from their source. It's hard and expensive to integrate a laser system strong enough to effectively hit drones and other objects from long range. I was a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I quit after seeing their theft of foreign artifacts and racist treatment on the reporting on the antiquities. They actually had a sign up indicating that the Egyptian art that showed Black figures was inaccurate and a result of the paint discoloring. Artworks that have existed for several millenia all of a sudden were discolored? And ONLY those depicting Black people? You see the attitude of these people when they admit that they have stolen property, but won't give it all back. Imagine if they had Israeli artifacts. Would that still be their stance?

Sickened to see what has been going on in Cambodia with ruthless criminals looting the Cambodian culture artefacts without no one in USA and United Kingdom and France has done anything than keeping quiet. Shame on you! Shame on you employed i government funded institutions in these countries not taking enough action and ethic values and respect for human world class culture in Cambodia.
