As usual the approach is sensitive but too direct and lacking in warmth and deeper finish, missing the emerging lush magic; obviously didn’t have it in him to listen to others and pay attention.

Hard to disagree, it's in his blood and DNA.
In tempo and phrasing this is similar to Toscanini's recording, minus the passion. Whether Debussy should be passionate is an open question.
