Thanks Robert, for mentioning the Hummingbird. The Crown Prince actually told me in my office after his performance that night, that the Hummingbird acoustics was one of the best for his voice delivery. Dennis loved singing at my venue, as it was then. The Hummingbird's legacy lives with people like you remembering its value for reggae music, through artistes like D.Brown.
Mr Lloyd Blake, Hummingbird was the place to be for live reggae artists like Hugh mundell, ninja man, Burning spear, yellow man, shabba ranks, Garnet silk, the Marley brothers, and many more big artists..yes sir Hummingbird was the place..big up your self sir you made it happen. Next time I see you I will give you a shout.. Bless..
@@lloydblake4100 Dennis Brown came and played a whole concert at one of the local estates's community centers. , which was basically just a hall with no built in stage. Sugar Minott's first show in Peckham was at the local Settlement hall, which again was a hall where they used to keep sound system dances, but also Bingo afternoon for seniors. So, respect to you, Mr Lloyd Blake for opening your own club, and givng these artists the touring experience they deserved.
Uptop, big up mr. One blood Reid for taking time in to big up Dennis Brown tribute two of my favorite artists, poor man transportation str88 from kng 11
The reason you will always see the audience in jamaican lookin lost(dead crowd) at Stage shows is because the real lovers of the music the poorer people is always separated by Barriers and sitting Chairs...they put VIP.. and all kinda of Ps...at the front and they sit and stare and dnt more or smile to the music the performer dnt feel the energy care how good they perform....No Chairs....No Barrier...Free Music...Free up the Music...only Reggae land do such thing
I had forgotten all about Junior Reid. He is singing just similar to the late "Dennis Emmanuel Brown"! But the damn crowd is awful indeed you would think that they are attending a funeral!
