  • The Neighbourhood returns to the Philadelphia area after performing at the Electric Factory on the Flood Tour with Wiped Out. The guys sit down with Jessie backstage at our Radio 104.5 11th Birthday Celebration. They discuss their third album being self-titled and including their own photos on the cover for the first time.
The Neighbourhood explain growing up in the public, it's effect on their music, and the differences between their early twenties (and even teens) and now. Things from their interests, to styles of clothes, to food tastes have changed. They also discuss the challenges of putting together this new record and EP and what's still in the works (Hint: Too many songs... is that really a problem?!)

In fact, they perfectly described themselves: EVER CHANGING :D and deep down in my heart I keep on dreaming that they have Europe on their agenda, I WISH THEY KNEW there are so many people eager to listen them live. My personal goal is to save some cash for their upcoming tour, NOW this is what really keeps me ALIVE. I convince myself not to quit my job cause I think about how awesome it would be to save memory from their concert till the end of my days ... MY LIFE WOULD BE FULLFILLED SEEING YOUR BAND PERFORMING IN MY COUNTRY. Your Polar Bears loves you

I think we can all agree the newest Neighbourhood Album and Ep’s aren’t exactly very successful, but as Jesse said they were figuring a lot of things out in this album and when you try new things you can’t expect everything to go the right way. Still, my favorite thing about this band is they take that risk and try something new instead of sticking to the same old crap every time. Hope they keep trying newer and better things

I love that they are not afraid to take that risktoo, but the thing is, they didn't stick enough to their old music style; Talking about their old OLD music style, I don't you can even call it style, but Sweater Weather.
What I mean by that are non-depressive pop-rock songs. They haven't had a single song similar to Sweater Weather - their most successful one by far; while most of the songs from their early EPs and "I Love You." are very much alike (Alleyways, Float, How, Everybody's Watching Me, etc...).

i don't think we can all agree that, it depends how you define "successful"... i definitely think they succeeded in making something fresh and exciting that i personally love... but everyone has their own opinion! if you're talking about mainstream success, then yeah, maybe so, but hopefully they are recognized for all their risk taking and talent soon!

Jesse clearly doesn’t care and wants to be a rapper so bad lol. He is becoming more and more popular in the social media world while his band fails in popularity. His Instagram followers have gone up a ton. He just seems too loyal to let it go.

Breanne Dixon Listen to the lyrics of “Stuck With Me,” closer this time. I think maybe there was a point when Jesse was a little self absorbed, but I think he’s starting to change just a little now. He knows the success of his band mates’ careers as musicians lies solely in his performance in the band.
