So Meaghan i'm the retired optician that commented when you found out that you needed to start wearing glasses. That was a couple of years ago and I was just checking to see how you're doing with your glasses? I'm a bit surprised to see you driving and not wearing glasses. If you were told to wear them for things close up as well as things like watching TV I have a feeling that you're longsighted as well as having astigmatisms which effects your eyesight at all distances. Now since you git your first glasses by now you should have had at least one more eye exam and maybe even two by now.Usually that means that you usually get an increases in your prescription. Now it's possible that you may have started wearing contacts which if that's the case would explain why you're not wearing glasses to drive. Maybe give and update about your glasses and or contacts.
Jim Boice hi Jim, my optometrist has told me I only need to wear the glasses for computer work or close up things like reading. I use them often for editing, writing essays and other uni work which is why you won’t see me wearing them often in the vlog. I also don’t feel like I look my best in them, so will often take them off to film. Thanks for coming back and keeping up with the vlogs! ☺️
So you're apparently "longsighted" or here in the US it's called "farsighted" and you may have some astigmatisms as well. Your glasses are probably mostly to relax you eyes and reduce some eyestrain. So i'm sure that your prescription is only a very weak one but your optometrists probably recommended that you get an optional AR coating (anti-reflective) on the lenses of your glasses to reduce reflections and glare from your glasses and is helpful if you're looking at screens all day long. You may want to try wearing your glasses when you're driving at night as well. I think that you might fin them to be a benefit then as well. Also if you spend very much time, which it seems you do, with your eyes staring at various screens then you should consider getting "blue light blocking " lenses on your next glasses. They have proven to be extremely useful for people staring at screens for 8 or more hours a day. I of course saw your video when you got your glasses. You look great wearing glasses, and of course a little different than you look without glasses but every bit as nice looking. You're just not as used to seeing yourself wearing glasses as you are without them. Don't you know that wearing glasses has become so popular that every boutiques now has several racks of "fake" glasses even. Glasses have really become a fashion must have for nearly every young lady these days. Its just a really nice way to change your looks a bit without changing your hair style or color or anything more drastic to change your "look" By the way if you're wondering you can wear your glasses anytime you wish to and know that it isn't doing any harm to your eyes. So even if you wanted to wear your glasses full time, which I don't see that happening too soon, you can.
How about a road trip to see your Mum and Sister next :)
