Such an amazing song. I don't know why but I just love that second line in the chorus. "And the prince and the drummer and the fire girls couldn't get our guitars in tune, and I knew it was over when the soundman said, I wish we were still in June"
@@Quotenwagnerianer Granted... but the "progressive rock scene" itself boasts an audience of 238 people around the world, unfortunately (sorry for the slight exaggeration) ;)
OMG! I'd only heard the studio version, which is one of my fave songs of all time. What an amazing live performance. So emotionally and musically charged. Thanks for posting! :D
I'm thoroughly enjoying listening to this Neil and the crew clean as it can get once again you all take care of yourselves out there and remember if we love each other as each other we can go further than we've ever gone before amen...
Yep, best recent prog band. At least until Neal left. I haven't really been able to get into any of their music after that... sadly. Neal is a genius songwriter. Even his solo music doesn't grab me like SB did, though. These guys all complemented each other perfectly, it's a shame he left.
I have the exact same feeling. I have tremendous amount of respect for Spock's Beard and their current lineup, but I just feel like it was truly special when Neal was there; and not only because of Neal, but because of what they did all together.
this is the second SB song i ever heard a few years ago, and is one of my favorites.. first time i heard the live version. I love it even more! idk how this band isn't at super-stardom, its baffling
Hmmm ... have heard OF SB for good many years. Never got around to listening until now. (I have accumulated thousands of musical recordings the past 50 plus years covering more genres than any person I've met yet and YES I've listened to all of them). Don't see the big deal. Poor man's CSN? Not bad just not great. Love love LOVE prog, too.
Can someone please tell me what album this is on originally? I may just be derping out cause it's really fucking late/early/whatever, but I cannot find it for the life of me... except for their third album, but it says "home demo version" so idk if that's actually it.
We need a Spock's beard reunion
That would be incredible......, original line-up.
One of my favorites of theirs
Absolutely tremendous harmonies. Right up there with The Beatles and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
This is music.

My God, this is so beautiful. Why aren't these guys better known? More correctly, what kind of idiot am I for not learning about them sooner?
Not better known? In the progressive rock scene they are among the most famous.

Check out their song The Doorway. Much more Prog than this song.

I cannot fathom how anyone could "dislike" this, unless it was by mistake.
David Crosby did it.
Here we are again.
Neal and Nick have such a unique sound together

American Progressive Rock At Its Finest!
Glad you used the word American.
@@tixximmi Have to give credit where credit is due. Many think the only prog out there is European.
