Hey Joel can u please put all your shudder recommendations from previous vids and/or current faves in 1 place. Here, community page, somewhere? Idk if I'm keeping it longer than 30 days, I hate typical horror but psychological thrillers are my fave, I'd be willing to try it and support u through the sponsor but knowing what stands out to u will help me weed through all the gory slashers and cheesy creatures and go straight to the good stuff such as Channel Zero! Thanks if so, otherwise hopefully I can catch a live again soon and ask in person if u don't catch this comment!
Thank you for this!! My jaw dropped when you were explaining what Channel Zero is. I'm super excited to get to the No End House and search & rescue stuff.
I got it just now I'm excited
What do you mean death of God?
I’m so happy 😃
Lucas lost his life because a bunch of cowardly drug dealers didn't wanna take no for an answer. He had so much potential ahead of him and now he was killed for nothing. I hope his family can make it past such a horrible murder.
All of those drug dealers and gang members are nothing but pu___ cowards.
Unfortunately, some people don't want you to make something of your life because they never did.
R.I.P. Lucas and the girl attacked and killed in the second story. My condolences to their families. May those who killed them meet their match one day and have their deeds catch up to them and give them a hefty dose of their own medicine.
The girl in the second story didn’t die though, right?
@@riggs1985 I was referring to the Canadian girl that was attacked which was mentioned by the one who submitted the second story. I said what I said about her in case she hadn't made it alive after the school children found her.
I live on the coast of São Paulo, Brasil and sadly the first story is still a common occurence. If you haven't already, watch the movies City of God and Elite Squad. They are award winning Brazilian films and tell pretty accurate stories of life in the favelas (or as they call them now, communities). Sad and intense, there is literally a civil war going on in the hills of Rio and the authorities can do little to keep it under control.
Rip to Lucus🙏🏽
The thought of a man who has supposedly killed 300 people is walking free due to law enforcement negligence is totally crazy and disturbing.
Yeah. If it wasn't for the police or the Christian missionary, the angry mob in Columbia or the tribe in Ecuador would have lynched him.
Corruption on a whole new level.
@chiyerano Yeah. They need to weed out corruption, and Interpol needs to hunt down and stop him. I can only hope that God has mercy on his soul.
yea so true
There are still more than 10 countries practicing genocide - and more on "genocide watch."
A reported 300 officials in 90 countries have committed and/(or are committin confirmed financial crimes.
Corruption and atrocities are happening with little or no attention since time in memoriam - from the streets to government. It's insane how little is being done.

You’re well on your way to hitting that 1M mark and you damn well deserve it man. You have been bringing us all great content and narration for a long time now and you are definitely in my top 5 list. I hope to see you get that RUclips play button for the 1M and then some within the next year. Cheers and good luck in the future!
As much as I used to love listening to your material to go to sleep. I don't anymore because I have my newborn in my room. I can't keep earbuds in, I need to listen for her.
But I listen while I clean and cook. Which is so much better because I don't miss a story. Thank you!
@Ronald Weedly Thank you very very much!! 😄
Managua is Nicaragua's capital city. The capital city of Guatemala is Guatemala city
I met people from Guatemala and many other South America countries as a kid growing up and they were mostly good people. It was hard for me to hear the stories from them about the reasons they left their homes in order to try and find a better life in the US.
Haha. I actually said it out loud while listening. There's a lot that's sketchy in that story.
I was looking for this comment!!!! That gabacha was either so lost or someone just threw together a story
That first story was brutal, and to know it’s a real story and he was able to tell it the way he did was crazy. Great job Let’s Read!
I'd like to find one person that doesn't listen to the whole video bc most of us fall asleep. We even watch the promotions bc you read them so good.
I mostly listen to these the whole way through when working on art projects
@@hunterg.1300 me too :)
That 3rd story with the homeless population is very true. I’ve been to a third world country with a lot of homeless. It’s a norm to the locals and you seriously can’t help everyone so you end up helping no one. If you even try to help someone, you get swarmed.
It id true I live in Colombia in Bogotá I come from a wealthy family and it is so sad that You can't even take your phone out or wear your jewerly because You can get mugged. So sad...
I love all the stories coming from different areas throughout the world! Tho seeing Japan in any title makes me slightly uneasy after churning out creepiness like The Grudge... 😬
Was that in an episode
Guyana has untouched beauty and the food is truly amazing but if you're in the jungle, then it's not Caribbean food with African influence but Amerindian, the indigenous people of Guyana
And one takes anti-Malware pills in the 3 weeks before travel - not after one arrives.
Spent 3 weeks in Guatemala in 19i89. There's nothing like having a machine gun pointed at your chest while negotiating a bribe at a checkpoint.
We spent months reading about the history and Fodor's, etc, travel books. All the knowledge can't save you from the unexpected - and the unexpected in Guatemala can be deadly quite easily.
Anyone who is traveling there alone is asking for trouble- and is truly dense.
It's beautiful, tragic, upsetting and magical. I'm sure things have changed since I've visited, but some things never change.
Thanks Joel!! Your the 💣 💣
I LOVE Shudder!!!
Right in time for bedtime! Let’s read never let’s us down!
Growing up when traveling to Mexico I was told to not speak English in public, keep a low profile, and never show off. If I was told not to go to an area after a certain time, I better damn well listen. My god-sister liked dressing up really pretty,, while I was more of a tomboy. We were visiting her grandparents in Mx, just sitting outside chatting when a red car passed us. Later that evening that same red car came back and these grown ass men specifically asked for her, saying they wanted to take her out (she was barely 15!). Thankfully we were inside and all the men of the family were there, they played dumb saying she was only visiting and had left that afternoon. We were leaving the next day anyway, they were polite but its terrifying when you catch the attention of the wrong people.
Yay!!!
Whoop whoop number one
Hope you have a great night and enjoy the stories my friend 👑 love Mon/Wed/Fri so much lol it's 7pm my time so no napping to them but least I don't miss any hahah
You’re so good to us Joel, thank you. 🖤
Literally cannot WAIT to listen to this video 😍 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thank you Joel! 😊
Does anybody remember a story ( I believe it was narrated by Joel here), in which a guy driving across the desert(nevada?) Stopped at a gas station in a small desolate town only for it all to be 1950s including cheap prices and he essentially stepped back in time, upon leaving he couldn't find a trace of the gas station? Can't seem to find it
Thanks
I remember him reading that story … it was a while ago tho probably more than 6 months ago
@@ctmarie7172 Do you remember what topic it was under? Roadtrips or desert stories maybe?
One of my absolute favorite ways to relax after a stressful day at work. Thank you LR 😌
Thanks as always for the content, Joel. Look forward to chatting with the Joel Patrol on your next live stream. 🙌
Joel, you're the best, bro! Hands down!
Part 2
Joel you are a MASTER of your craft! Cannot express how much i love your uploads 🙌🏼
Perfect timing! Excited to give it a listen
Having been born in Brazil, these stories hit close to home
I saw a video of someone doing a favela tour a few weeks ago. Those informants really are everywhere aren't they? The guy had the sense to get out when he realised he was being eyeballed by one of them, and that same informant quickly brushed past him in the same direction to go and tell presumably gang members what was going on.
Would not be me.
@@noneofyourbizznizz5375 yeah from what I understand they also use kids who light fireworks to warn them when the police are coming. I went pretty near the favela during my last visit. That’s about as close as I care to get.
I get so upset with myself if I fall asleep mid story... I have to rewind lol
i got here so fast
Bro I swear Joel could read childrens stories and could make us sleep. Your a lullaby singing genius Joel
wow number 2 here
Always a pleasure 😁 I think you could talk about how paint dries and it would still draw me in.
All the hard work is appreciated
Channel zero is awesome !
I'm just three days away from my due date and these videos are the only thing that can still get me to sleep.
Congrats and good luck 🥰
@@daisymay6505 Thank you! 😊
I was pissed of but till u upload i hit faster than a meth addict lol
Omg the story about Lucas broke me 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🙏🏻🙏🏻
Omg shoutout to Bolivia!!!!! I apologize for that horrible experience, the buses are always like that. I can’t tell you how many times I thought I was going to die. They always drive on the other side of the road. This is completely normal for most Bolivians that travel a lot. We have a lot of accidents sadly. Bolivia is beautiful and we have lovely people but yeah…this happens. Not to discourage people from traveling because it’s a wonderful place to visit. You just can’t save on buses. It’s best not to
Thank you Let's Read ❤️🥰
bless this channel for the content it uploads.
Why did he say since the death of God there has been a vacancy?
Disclaimer: sure many Brazilian cities have violence issues, but don't go think that the whole country is like that, ok?
Like any other city in the world, there will be its good parts and bad parts, sucks to hear that he died by being set on fire. Sucks to hear that his death was painful.
Brazil is a dangerous country
But also has some natural beauty
Never been there but I believe you. USA has a bad reputation for crime, too, but its not like that everywhere. Lots of nice suburbs and towns, just stay away from most cities.
My notifications are definitely back on. Woohoooo. Hiya Joel Patrol (that's someone elses description, own up if it's you). I've been eating while on the laptop and there's all sorts of crumbs and crap in it, so if I misstype, only half my fault. I'll clean it tomorrow, guys, it's midnight.
And the same for you by Joel, so sorry I missed your last stream… listened to it today… but I’m glad you you can pillow talk me to sleep tonight 💋♥️
Thank you for the stories
Glad to see your channel growing you're one of the best!!!!
Loved the stories but there is no acceptance letter here in Brazil, people get in through an exame that's all. It's only based on the grade you get.
Yeah, and we don't have dorms either. At least not like the ones in the US. Sounds like it was written by an American who has lived in the country but didn't bother to check how college works here.
@@evelynstock I guessed that from the willingness of the writer to disclose such a horrible event
Do you think it may be a fake story?
Right on time ♥️
Why did he say since the death of God theres been a vacancy? And why does he have an illuminati pyramid?
@@anderslarsen2311 I really didn’t understand that myself! No matter though to me it’s just talk, i know what I believe in and how I feel. My light and love will stay bright 😇 Hope this helps have a wonderful night/day stay safe.♥️
Thank you 🙌🏾🌙
Like many others I go to sleep listening to videos like this. I also like to listen to these during the day when I want to unwind with my phone.
Thanks Joel these were awesome ❤️💯
OMG! My night just got that much better. This is gonna be a truly horrifying set of tales!!!
The first story hits close home. I'm not from Rio, but live in a state away. CV is not a simple street gang, they're more like a cartel and are absolutely ruthless.
RIP Lucas. You were so brave.
These were some really interesting stories. Thanks Joel🙏

Let me find out you got on live for the first time in FOREVER AND I MISSED IT!😭 I was sooo salty!! Will that be happening again anytime in the near future?? I love and miss getting to interact with you, and getting to be apart of those candid moments. 💕 it's always nice to get to see you break character! 🥰😍😘
He was on Halloween. Dude, doesn't he go live every week? I'm pretty sure he does...
He was live for his first time a few nights ago? Thank God I attended it keep your notifications up and u should get it.
I absolutely love your intro music!
rip lucas i am so sorry that your beautiful life was taken too short because of some drug dealers :( i’m so sorry
The poor kid burned alive for refusing to make narcotics is just so sad. Life is is fragile
Shoot, I have no way to comment on his Live Stream that's currently going-Will his stream, "California" stories, be uploaded here and viewable as usual? I want to save it for bedtime! Lmk if possible, thanks!

Yeeeeeeees, gosh. I get so excited for a video. I'm 32, mom of 2. Love you joel.💋💯
No shame. I am 40...mom of 3...and I get so excited listening to these while I work.
@@AbsyntheAndTears yes!!! It's the little things🥰👌💜💋
Love your videos
They see me rollin..
How is the fact someone killed 300 people somehow less shocking than the incompetence that allowed him to do so?!!! Just, wow.
That was a goooood one👍👍👍
I’d like to add to the moral of story 2: choose your battles. I’d pick losing 20 bucks over getting in an altercation with some shady fake taxi driver in a foreign country with high violent crime rates every time.
That story just didn't happen is all lies, there is no such thing a "red stripes on plates", that wench didn't even got the capital of the country right. Because Managua is the capital of Nicaragua.
I been living in Guatemala for the last 15 years, do not believe everything you hear.
Ahh...No Wednesday evening is complete without my fresh new episode LR to listen to....in the dark ;)
l like that sound that plays after a story ends like that sound is so good make it louder it makes you iconic
Oh, the Death Road!! When I was a kid I used to travel there every year, good times. I remember watching the cliff from my bus window and feel like I was floating, that´s how narrow is the road. But now is only used for turism and if I´m correct for trucks.
That's scary as hell 😳
I would puke the whole time!
You'd puke no matter what, the road is full of curves, and yeah that made it worse. But leaving the difficulty, it has a beautiful view. Totally recommended
Early-ish keep up the good work 😊
Joel just know you’re the best at what you do. Keep it up!
Thank you Joel
I got shudder great movies. But I tell ya what I love the stories you tell very relaxing. Love ya bro. Keep up the good work. Do you sell merch?
Funny how they travel to countries with a different language and then say 'thEy hAve a BroKen EnGlisH' when they are the ones with a broken Spanish or less than that :/
I love you Joel. ❤️😍❤️👻
Number 4 or 5 or 6. Can’t tell. You guys are tough. I just got hit with this clip
The story at 51:30 is really insane, the ice road truckers TV show crew actually drove this road, and the tv show deadliest roads also did an episode on this stretch of road
Love the video ready 💙💙💙
