Works great for mandolin in contemporary music like praise and worship songs being played in sharp and flat keys. I know it offends bluegrass players that refuse to think outside the box but lighten up guys, some of us aren't as talented as you are.

I'm new to mandolin, Self taught over covid. There's a song I want to sing in the key of G. I want to sing it in the key of C, can you tell me where to put the capo? is that possible? The song already uses a capo on the 3rd fret. Thanks.
So the song is presented in G and you want to switch to C? The easiest way to do this is to transpose the key from G to C. Most tab/chord apps will do this automatically. Instead of GCD, you would play CFG The last point you have re: capo on the 3rd fret. G chord shapes with capo on the 3rd fret raises the actual key to A#. If you want to sing in the Key of C using C chord shapes, just take the capo off.
It definitely takes some practice not to bend the strings when putting on the capo. Try getting it to go straight down onto the strings. Also a mandolin specific capo will help with that too. Thanks for watching!
Only thing not mentioned is how the back of the Shubb capo seriously gets in the way of your left hand, esp chording.
And you can capo A up to B and the rest.

Its a piece of leather because I was getting weird sympathetic vibrations up there that sounded bad.

what about messing up pitch with the capo? As in it warps the sound. I've always had issues with that. However, I am using a guitar capo.

didnt show us how to put capo on where to get them or if we could use a guitar capo -
