Sounds good! Just used my snowthrower for the first time this winter. If it's like last winter here, it will probably be the last time I run it, lol. Enjoyed the video as always!
Bought the same machine ST11528LE Nov/2007. Been great. Always run non-ethanol fuel. Pop those wheels off quick & grease the axle & spline. Every year!. #1 issue for long term ownership.
I went through this with a 8hp techemse. The carb was on it was fully adjustable. No matter what I set the mixtures to it would surge. This carb has a brass emulsion tube and was not removable. I sprayed and cleaned and chased with a piece of wire. I had this carb apart many times. I also pulled the seat out with the special hook tool and set the depth of the seat with the tool. It was fixed after that.
Nice job Dr Frankenstein, she sounds so much better now. Man I've been swamped (cough cough) with snow blowers this week, it was good to see someone else dealing with one for a change. 😇🤣😇
Plug and play!! 😂. Great job getting the parts swapped to make one solid carb. Do you have a part # on that barb fitting. I could certainly use those from time to time. Hope things are good your way 😎😎
I drilled out a pressure washer I worked on and it took three drillings to get it to the non-surging stage. Did I miss something? How come you didn’t work your way up through larger bits?
I had basically reached my point of aggravation on this carburetor. It was not the original carb for the machine, it had definitely been tinkered with before I got it, off camera I did go up another two sizes I thought I mentioned that in a note in the video but I can't remember. And on top of all that I had already drilled the main jet one size last year. So at this point I was starting with too many different variables, unfortunately this motor is on its last legs and is burning oil at an unsettling rate so this is looking like a short term victory lol
What year Ariens is that machine? Looks great for it's age! I've had good luck with Hipa carbs, 1 for 2 on drilling out pilot jet & having it make a difference. Running non-ethenol has made huge difference, no more carb rebuilds or tear-downs...
I'm completely restoring this exact snow blower right at this time Hester. I wish I could share pic's of the project here. I also own two late 90's John Deere 27" and 28" snow blowers and have completely restored one of them at this point. Where can I send you pic's.....if you want them.
I've owned this machine for about five years, I knew the previous owner and he told me himself that the original carburetor got destroyed from rust/water and he replaced it with "a cheap one from Amazon". My father has the exact same snowblower as this one and it has always run sweet as a nut, given that this Motor is burning oil and getting low on compression I suspect that's as good as it will get
Hey, that carb worked fine backwards! Why mess with success? 😂 Note to self: When messing around with modifying carbs, don’t do a JD. 😉 Three stars and 12 reviews? Definitely a recipe for failure! Oh well. All’s well that ends well - made for an interesting video. 👍
Nice job! It must drive you crazy with all the differences in what appears to be similar carburetors. Good luck! 👍
It can definitely be frustrating. But on the flip side I enjoy the challenge 👍🏻
Good video, as always. Fun one, too.
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🏻

Thanks Goose! Yeah the past few winters have definitely been lackluster, although it's definitely too soon to say if this winter will be the same! 👍🏻

Already done 👍🏻. I preach that in every video I make on these blowers. My last 3 show the stages of what can happen good, bad, and ugly 😂👍🏻
Great video! One suggestion put locktite on the throttle plate screw to keep it from falling out.
Good point, you never know when something like that might fall out! 👍🏻

Sounds like a frustrating experience but you got it fixed! Glad to hear it.👍🏻

Glad I could give you a little break from the blower work! 😂👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣
Bonehead epiphany! Now, i have a name for it! Appreciate the troubleshooting and mods! Thanks for the video!
Glad I could help! 😂👍🏻
Excellent trouble shooting! Sounds great! 😃👍
Thanks Scout! I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. 😁
LOL Hongkongfuey... Gave me a chuckle. Thanks!
I'm just trying to keep it real! 😂😂😂👍🏻
OMG - something I’ve actually already done before you! Shall wonders never cease?! 😉🔧👍
Haha glad to see you're ahead of the curve! 😎

Thanks brother! I'm not sure where I got them i've had them for years but Here's a link to a kit similar to the one I used a.co/d/aMFxwWb

So what you’re saying is, many hands make crap work! 😉🔧
🇦🇺🦘great job again
Thank you! 👍🏻

It's a 2005 and it's actually pretty clean for a 20 year old machine!

Idk that carb looked original tecumseh. On mine it was the idle jet and new plug to get it to stop surging but they never run smoothly.

Don't worry I'm used to failing! 😂
