  • Need tote storage shelves but don't have the room? This mobile storage/organization system transforms to only take up 29 square feet! And the best part, you get to keep all of your wall space!
I designed this system to help solve storage problems. We all use totes or bins to store things... but the problem we run into is that the traditional shelving systems use up all of our precious wall space. Not this one.

I just found your RUclips channel. This is what I've needed for a long time. I have a 40'x60' shop. BUT every family member believes it is their storage unit. (Even my X-daughter-in-law has left stuff in my shop. This idea will be me storage for all the cardboard boxed left behind and give me more room to work. I just watched your 2 hour plus video on making things that sell. Maybe I can make enough money to cover the cost of "their" storage units. GREAT JOB with your videos.

I did. This is exactly what I need! After literally decades of trying to make do with various commercially available shelving units which always end up leaving lots of unusable space (read: space for piling things up), I really need a way to store all my shop equipment and accessories protected from sawdust and organized in such a way as to be able to find what I need, when I need it. No more buying multiples of things because I can't find what I need. As a matter of fact, this is also a great way to store all my sewing stuff, craft supplies, and even books!

I did . Great idea, BUT you need a lot of room in your shop or garage in order to pull the units out to access the bins. It’s not for a shop that doesn’t have the extra open space to be able to pull out the cabinets. But it sure is a great idea if you’re in a larger space. And such an easy build . Thanks for all you do for the woodworking community.

I DID I did! Love the channel, details of your explanations, and your creativity, Mr. Peach. I don't know how long I have watched or subscribed but it has been quite a while and it has been fun to see the growth of the channel. I had to share an idea that came to me - inspired by your design. You could actually add it to your current design since you used screws for assembly. If you added a plywood or OSB vertical backer to the ends of the cabinets on the inboard side of the legs, then you could add hinges and a latch to the end caps to make a narrow hidden cabinet. You would be making use of the 3+ inches of vacant space at the ends of the cabinets and woukd allow for much more vertical tool storage. I hope Ethan realizes what a gift he is getting by being able to work with you and learn from a hands on perspective. What an opportunitt! Keep up the good work.

@@AscDrew yea that was probably a little optimistic but again it does depend on how big and fancy you build them. That was also only for one shelf too. I bought some wood from home depot a couple days ago for an unrelated project but it was comparable to building one of these shelves and wasn't much over $100. The quality of wood is absolute crap these days. The 2x4s were almost decent but the 2x2, 1x4, and 1x4s were one step above bark. They almost qualified as hockey sticks and twisted stair spindles, were cracked, or had big gouges and chunks missing.

Hey Matthew, you where talking about 1/2" plywood. But this this you may have been thinking 3/4" plywood. Because you definatly said 15/16. And I don't believe I've ever seen a half inch sheet of plywood measuring 15/16! Lol. Thanks for another great video. Take it easy my friend!
