what if the Space Wolves were made aware of this situation? The animosity between the wolves and the Inquisition is known. I bet they would have done everything in their power to assist the Lions and persecute the Inquisition
No, if ALL the son's of Dorn knew this, with the return of their Father. The inquisition has lost it's way, perhaps not the GK, but they would have to answer to the Space Wolves.

@@TenPtJackalope as an Inquisition fan, it's a total win for me regardless. A weakened minotaurs are more loyal when resupplied. A weakened wolves are less of an issue if they decide to get uppity again. Both can be wiped out if they decide, they know whats best for the Imperium.
@TheMinuteman it will be interesting if the space wolves find out the only chapert to decimate the inquisition and the same time utterly defeat then gray Knights and force them to reveal themselves lol just wait till guilliman and the lion find out about this

Unless I'm mistaken these are the guys that really managed to irritate the Inquisition in one of the earlier space marine codexes. A world was in rebellion and an Inquisitor had a neat concise plan to bloodlessly decapitate the leadership and take the world back. The marines ignored him and blasted the world into submission.
I think the inquisition overreacted just a tad though.

If only this inquisitor, the Lions should have just board and stormed, took out this inquisitor themselves rather than attempt a formal complaint against him. If the entire inquisition is plotting against them, every space marine legion should team up in kind and wipe out every inquisition member in the entire galaxy. They team up with orcs to kill space marines, they do more harm than good.

The main issue is the Lions didn’t take a page from theBlack Templars play book. “ Inquisitor?!? What inquisitor? Oh yeah. He got drunk and walked out an air lock.” Or “ Inquisitor? Oh yeah he to ok a bolt… I mean he died in battle. Yeah. Battle”
Nicely done bringing the tragedy of the Celestial Lions to life in your reading.
Baldermort is in a league of his own as a 40k loremaster, and I love everything he does. This must be the first time I've found myself reluctant to listen to one of his podcasts, because I know how sad a tale it is for the poor old lions. I'm 51 years old. I really need to grow up.
You really have to wonder how many lives could've been saved, how many worlds spared if Hereticus put even a fraction of the effort they put into killing off the Lions into actually doing their jobs.
One of my favorite Chapters. The perfidy and evil these men faced was hideous. "iustitia est patientes"
I got sent home from work because I ran out of my medications and the refill got delayed, so I wasn't fit to operate the machinery my job requires. Makes the Friday of a long weekend a little better, being able to listen to my favorite Warhammer narrator. Thank you, Baldemort, if I ever find myself in the UK, I'd definitely buy you a box of Battleline, whether you still play Guard or if you play something else. You for sure deserve it considering your Astra Militarum videos have single-handedly got me to play the Militarum.

I love the stories like these in the Imperium. They are the grim darkness. Those who do what is right are lost in the name of what is “needed”.
I have to recommend ABP's reading of Fire and Blood for the full story. It centers around Grimaldus saving the lions

my anger towards the Inquisition grew tenfold when reading the armageddon books, and my respect to the Lions only inqrised. despite knowing they had a target painted on their backs, walking into possible ambushes. they still performed their duty as Astartes with heads held high

I really hope we get a clash between Primarchs and Inquisition at some point. The truth is, the imperium can't survive without the inquisition, but cutting it down a bit as a show of force from the Primarchs would be great. reinstating the Autonomy of Space Marines so they can't be ordered by the Inquisition anymore would then be the deal they cut with the Inquisition to halt further open hostilities. Maybe even taking it to a level where the Primarchs say the Space Marines should take command of Forces where they operate and giving them the power to do so. This could lead to multiple internal conflicts with interesting outcomes. There are a few chapters who I think would side in this conflict with the Inquisition, like I can't imagine the Minotaurs or the Red hunters (? I think it was their Chapter name) would openly fight the Inquisition. It could lead to an even stronger strain on the internal stability. and there could be abuse of power on both sides, some chapters going full on interfering with Inquisitorial operations because at some point an Inquisitor didn't show them the respect they think they are owed or the Inquisition changing the course of a whole crusade just so they don't end up helping a chapter they don't like. Internal Conflicts could make for so many interesting stories, and it could counterbalance the power infusion the imperium got by their new better and more stable Primares Genseed.

This is one of the many reasons the inqisition needs to be reigned in. One story line i hope to see continue is that of the lions and the black templars vs the inquistion. As of now the strength of the black templar is unknown. I can just imagine (when i think about it) High Marshal Helbrecht sailing at full strength equivalent to the Legions of old directly toward the inquistion. Demanding the Lions be made whole and the inquisitor responsible handed over or.. Or be prepared to be destroyed by the fire and fury of the black templar at full legion strength... ah a Templar can dream.
I'd love to see that,especially if the Black Templars called in all their crusade fleets and Imperial Fists successors chapters they get along with,such as the Crimson Fists.

I've fought against two people at my local with imperial guard, whenever they ask what narrative would make the Salamanders attack the Guard or why the Guard was aimed at the Salamanders.

The celestial lions are basically the lamenters but instead of the misfortune of having bad rolls they instead have the misfortune of being on the inquisitions shit list.

An amazing tale, as are all of Baldermorts. I love the Celestial Lions, because they dare(d) to be true to themselfs, not bowing for convinience or political "tact".
While I get that an Inquisitor must make the hard calls and "Error on the side of caution." is a real thing, there still is a quote from a book I adore "Survival alone is not enough" it roughly translates.
As for the Daddy Smurf and the Lion ... I don't think our Boy in Blue is going to do anything realy. If he finds out he will have talks, I would guess, he would take some cosmetic action and pout in private, but in doing? Nope. Would be to much of a risk or some BS. The Lion? Well, when he is done with family-therapie in another 10k years, he and his remaining boys will - depending on the therapist - either cover it all up, including the fact there ever was therapie, hunt down those who pointed at the wrong parts of the puppet and kill those who indeed take the meds, or there might indeed come a pleasing surprise and someone might start doing what is right for the sake of it.
It’d be strange if Guilliman did nothing since part of the attacks against the Celstial Lions included the loss of a shipment of Primaris marines meant for the lions.
An Out of Universe reason the Celestial Lions were destroyed??
Cause the player who piloted them during the actual Armageddon events kept losing to the Ork players... Same reason the Black Templars failed their space assault... This is part of why 40k lore is awesome, it sometimes changes with actual games played between nerds around the world.. and eventually we get our Humble Sevant and preferred narrator, Baldermort!
