- Today, the Fleet Feet Review team shares their thoughts on a completely redesigned popular uptempo, train-to-race shoe: the HOKA Mach X 2.
The midsole gets a higher stack with a lot more PEBA foam and uses two compounds: a supercritical foam (seen in the Mach 6) on the bottom and a dramatically peppier PEBA foam on top for a dynamic underfoot feel. The PEBAX plate has been extended for more propulsion and the upper gets a significant update with a sleeker, more see-through construction for better breathability and weight reduction.

Heel rubbing for me too. Using Compeed blister pads to avoid the friction at the moment. Other than the blister issue, loving the shoe!
Huge fan of the Hyperion Max 2. How does this compare?
this is bascially the little brother to the cielo x1. galaxies ahead of anything brooks. DNA flash is boring and harsh, whilst hoka is bouncy and has a ton of energy return. its alive, and responsive.
@@berthein5476 based on? All my HOKA's are retired, they go dead so fast, atkeast for the road models. The Hyperion is still alive and kicking afted 300k.
@@bambaklats2891 It’s probably based on most reviews which say it’s on the firmer side (firmer than the Boston 12 and others) and wants you to run fast. It’s a different sensation than most super trainers and most people’s praise for the Hyperion Max 2 has to do with it’s upper, rocker, aesthetics, and plate and less to do with its foam which may be better than before but not among the best yet.
I hope the bottom is SC EVA. I won't pay 190 for standard EVA in the midsole...
way overpriced, there are better shoes on the market;
I find the Cielo X1 toebox perfect. Mach 6 even in wide was not wide enough... Torpedo shape.. How is the toebox?
I had no issues with the toe box. Fit my foot nicely - Brandon
This vs the Superblast and Neo Vista in terms of ride and comfort?
Firmer and more aggressive than the Neo Vista! - Brandon
Same bottom SCEVA from Mach 6? Mach 6 is just waay too narrow, even a half size up
There is also PEBA and a PEBAX plate in the midsole! - Brandon
How would you choose between this and the cielo x1? I’m after a fast trainer I can wear into my first proper fast half marathon
The Cielo X 1 is bouncier and has more of a rocker sensation while the Mach X 2 is faster and more aggressive. - Brandon
How does this compare to the speed 4?
Greetings fleet feet team! I know you guys are trying with the reviews but I don’t think this format is the most entertaining. It seems like you’re just essentially summarizing written reviews of other reviewers (who are faceless and lack context) with some inserts of your own opinion. I don’t think viewers here should have to go to the written review to try and contextual who every name dropped it and what kind of runner they are. Even then it’s just a name written on paper and highly depersonalized. If you guys can’t centralize filming, I’d suggest doing some sort of compilation video of all the reviewers either streamed together I.E. DoR or separately recorded thoughts sewn together that way it doesn’t seem like a brief robotic recap of a written review. Written and yt are clearly different mediums. Not to be harsh, I’m sure you guys have a budget etc but I just feel you guys are such a big retailer and becoming an authority on entertainment in this review space is a missed opportunity. My 2 cents, rock on!
