Always happy to see your name pop-up! This was a very insightful video, made me think a lot about my own journey to independence. It's a tricky thing, but you seem to be handling life with grace and I hope things are finally starting to get easier.

I'm so happy for you, Abbey. Moving out on my own with my partner was the best choice I ever made. I can't wait until you and Oliver can close the distance. Sending the best vibes your way!

Oh, and as a note, becoming independent is the BEST. I have no reliance on my family (which can be quite toxic, if you remember). I graduate in May, and I don't know for sure what I want to do. I am going to take some time to relax because college was awful these last couple years with it being online.. (and with it being Tech..) However, I am so excited to embrace the next chapter of my life. 2021 was rough for me, but 2020 was worse for sure. I know you'll figure it all out, and you will be an even better person for it.
(Also, if you ever want to escape the chaos, I live in a tiny town under 3 hours away from Chattanooga (closer to Knoxville) since my classes are online, so you could come visit if you ever wanted to! It is not an exciting place, but we have some pretty mountains, haha! I will hopefully move away soon, as well.)

@@faithlarae3151 It’s refreshing hearing from you Faith, and honestly, I’d love to come see you again. You were definitely a highlight from Tech, and I couldn’t imagine how grueling online was there the last couple years. I’ll throw you a message on SnapChat soon. ❤️

Lovely to see you almost at the finishing line where you can finally be together permanently. Every time I hear you talking about your relationship it feels so weird to me that without me doing what I did over 10 years ago the two of you might never have met and I wonder how many other lives I influenced. Nice to see you looking happy and well and good luck for the future.

Thanks. 😊 It’s still wild how everything worked itself out, but I’m happy and I’m grateful. I don’t where I would have been if I hadn’t met Oliver. 🇩🇰

Well well well...what a pleasant surprise! I think for most kids the last few years have been rough. I feel badly for the high school kids who got robbed of their memories because of the health scare and I feel bad for college students forced to stay home and 'learn online'. It just has been a lost 18 months for most people. My daughter is a junior at a University far from home and seems to have spent more time at home attending classes than actually at the U in class. Frustrating and maddening.
That said the journey to adulthood/Independence doesn't follow a straight path. Your parents think they have good answers to support you in your growth, but they see it from their viewpoint. Having only spent a day, MANY years ago, in your home town I can't give any specific advise but you try hooking up with a temp agency specializing in your career field and taking jobs as you want to to get a few bucks ahead. That way you can't be accused of watching too much YT or gaming too much. But, the sooner you can fly on your own the better off you'll be, whether that's in Denmark or here in the US for however long.
I know, I know....always longwinded even when I am writing a short reply
