As a Fold4 user, that mix fold looks really good, especially with how slim overall it looks. I wonder how the cameras compare especially with that Leica collaboration
I had a Fold 2 from the day it came out until until the day the Fold 4 came out, now using that. Love this folding phone technology. I love the hardware of the Mix Fold 2 and Vivo Fold, for me the bigger the screen the better. The one positive for Samsung Fold vs the others that I actually use is the hinge being able to hold at different angles. It's really useful for getting "non-selfie" pics without carrying a tripod around.
Oppo Find N is the only foldable I can consider because of the size. I think it makes the most sense for the expanded mode to be landscape, and the folded mode to be compact.
And "The N" has the best battery life of any foldable too ( *source:* GSMarena) A 10-inch "Fold n' Roll" extendable version of the Find N would be my dream expandable phone IMO.
Honestly still think I'd go with the fold 4 simply due to the hinge being able to support itself in multiple locations. I love using it for photos makes it so much easier to take them.
It's impressive that China is making so many varieties of foldables, hope they will be released to international market soon! We need more competitions in this field.
@@lewismackay9533 We don't hate anything that's not American. We buy plenty of foreign made vehicles. I make efforts to not buy products made in communist China. I can't support communism no matter how much the product may be appealing.

The fold 4 is a bit chunkier, but it's very reassuring. Walking in the middle of the night I'll even grab the phone in a fist with the hinge facing outwards. I use a case with hinge protection as well. The side, weight, and grip, all make it obvious that I could use the phone as a self defense weapon and still be able to call 911 after bludgeoning someone with it. It's awesome. Also the spen kicks ass
I have to argue the Huawei external fold is by far the best option. I had the Mate Xs. It looks sooo darn good, more slippery, but the crease is non-existant since it's not a folded inwards ever, just a stretch or a bump when you fold it out, is waaaay less noticeable. BUT yes, drawbacks are the durability. But if you're careful, maybe have it in a solid cover, that you can take off when using or like a wallet which it is concealed in. It's the best by far. BUT also Huawei with the Google Play Store and lack of support of that is the companys biggest drawback :(
As a first-time Fold 4 user, one thing I'm noticing from my usage is the need for the external screen to be as large as possible due to one-handed operation. My usage is probably 50% external.
I also have a fold 4 and ngl I kinda like how small the external screen is. But it is a bitch to type on. I got big thumbs, so when I type, I'm bound to have some typos. But I woudnt mind a bigger external screen for the fold 5
I loved the form factor, if they can just stretch out as much width as they can with the front display without messing with the overall size/shape it'd be perfect. The tall and narrow screen is great for scrolling through the internet. You just get to see so much. If they can get rid of the gap between the 2 halves of the phone then I would switch back. Just can't bring myself to use it when larger debri can get in there so easily.
Lew, you missed the case that comes included in the box for the Huawei. Lol. Interesting design but does the job of protecting the outside screen when not unfolded.
the Samsung hinge allows you to have it open at 90 degrees to take pictures on a timer or like a mini laptop for video teleconferencing, none of the Chinese phones have figured this out. Would be interesting to see what a case would look like on the phone with the display on the outside, Samsung has come out with some cool cases for their foldable that are kind of genius like something Apple would have come up with if they made a foldable. Samsung must be taking some their design team and engineers. Most of these Chinese phones like the one with the screen on the outside don't have wireless charging. If apple comes out with a MagSafe compatible foldable with reverse wireless charging it will be ahead of the game if the reverse charging is also MagSafe allowing for car mounts as currently exists. Looks like they have a patent on that so no one else can have it.
On my third surface duo. That tells you two things, #1 the device is extremely fragile. #2 I love it. Tbh I like it more than the Surface Duo 2. Love the idea of split screen for multitasking. But the market seems to be going towards media consumption... Sad. Also love how he focuses on hardware and fails to mention Duo which has by far the best build quality. For 90% of people I wouldn't recommend Surface Duo, but it at least deserves a mention (as the audience is more likely to be in the 5-10% that may benefit from a device like Surface Duo.)
Frankly, I prefer Mate Xs design language to other foldables'. I don't think it is too fragile for a daily driver as Huawei has improved the build quality to meet users' demand.
I want the Mix 2 with the hingles and software of the Samsung. I hope Samsung learns a thing or two from the Mix 2, that's why I'd be waiting for the Fold 5. I also feel the Mix 3 will be superb ( we just need an International version to crown it the King of foldables).
That's one thing I don't like about my Fold 4, the exterior display. Sometimes I just don't want my phone folded or unfolded? Idk but all the way open. Sometimes I just want to use the outside display to send a quick text, or some quick scrolling on Facebook. But with the exterior display (mainly with texting) is insanely hard. Like I have big fingers. So I struggle typing everything correctly without doing it 30 times lol
I don't have a problem with the smaller outer screen, I just swipe to text and it's been absolutely perfect for that. But I did have a problem initially with the large but split keyboard on the inner big screen. That was frustrating at first, but I'm used to it now. Still, swipe to text is miles better than typing because the margin of error is higher and I can be careless and still get 90% of my text recognised and corrected.
@@g43654 That's fair. I haven't considered swipe to text. I'll have to try it. Yea I hated it too. You do know you can change it to a full keyboard correct? I changed mine within the first 5 minutes lol
The Xiaomi Mix fold 2 is absolutely the winner among those three foldable phones. Huawei mate that fold with the screen completely expose is absolutely not ideal for continual everyday uses. The screen will damage very fast. But Huawei locking mechanism is very unique and ideal for keeping the fold lock. The Xiaomi Mix fold 2 overall seize is superb both in the phone and tablet state or form.

Mix Fold would be my choice of hardware as a Fold 4 daily user. The idea of a larger more usable front screen is great especially for quick tasks. I do like the hinge on the Fold 4 better and I'm hard pressed to think any manufacturer can beat screen quality of Samsung or have their ecosystem in Android which is important to me.
Also Huawei Mate type folding display give you better ux. So everytime you use something you can see how app expands (something like responsive web if you expand your browser window) and this feels very natural and don't disrupt usage. For example you watch video on youtube and you don't have to stop video to expand the screen, you can continue to watch. And on Fold 4 or any other „book“ type foldable phone there always is switch from one screen to another which isn't natural or comfortable. For example you watch youtube, you decide to switch, then you try to open screen with both hands (you can't open with one) you usually click on some suggested video by mistake so you end up in the next screen with different video or you missed 3 or 5 sec of video by moving from front screen to foldable screen.
Apart from the Oppo Find N, there's still the Honor Magix Vs and the Vivo X Fold+ which you could compare, if you could somehow manage to get your hands on them. It would be interesting to see you compare these 3 with the ones u just showed.
Mix fold2 is missing some features that I can ignore. On the otherhand, it is giving some feature which I love: the slimness, the usable size, the fast charging and better Battery.
