Oooh. Just heard an older track if Ren's for the first time tis morning. I guess I made the mistake of judging the first couple seconds the lat time 😅. It's called Run Away. Yiu don't have to react to it, there no music video, but it's seriously a sleeper hit. Somehow a sad son becomes drum & bass! It's pure ear candy!
@@dmcclelland37 FWIW, the lyrics in the video Ren just made public aren't exactly the same as in the official studio release. I'm not sure if it was like a demo or if he changed the lyrics later on when he sang it solo vs how it was with Trick The Fox. Anyway, the studio version is on Bandcamp. There's an unofficial/fan YT channel called Unreleased Ren that has all the Bandcamp songs up that aren't on Ren's official YT.
At the beginning of Violet's Tale, it wasn't the "insanity element". He was rewinding time, with his guitar, as the lyrics had just indicated. Later on he fast-forwards time, using the same technique.
Wait until you hear him REALLY singing, or REALLY rapping! Your mind will be blown! Ren has incredible vocals, capable of multiple voices, styles and tones and full ofbeautifully subtle little vocal nuances! He raps like a rap god, scats and beatboxes brilliantly! Not to mention his incredible production skills, his instrumental skills on about a dozen different instruments. Half of which he plays RIDICULOUSLY well! All self-taught! His award-winning directorial and editing skills. His talents are seemingly endless. You've already seen how good his performance skills are and his stage presence is palpable! His songwriting is world-class! Especially his lyricism. He's a poet really and a great poet at that! There's nobody as talented as Ren lyrically! He's top tier in EVERYTHING that he does! Ren's a unique artist. A musical genius! A once in a generation talent! He's also a fine example of a human being! As you'll discover. :)
Amazing, again, right?...So happy you have joined the "Ren-iverse". ❤ Admittedly, I was one of those folks who originally was rooting you on to check out more Yes...and many other select musical treats put forward by previous generations of artists. While still enamored by talents of the past...I fell into the Ren rabbit hole about a year back and to be truthful...I've since listened to very little aside from Ren and his friends. You're now a few tunes into the soup...I can say that after listening to countless tracks...the idea of ever being disappointed by this boy or his crew of talented collaborators has totally dissolved. Although other music is great and many artists are definitely deserving of fair attention, I can guarantee that further samplings of Ren's catalog...and/or his collaborations with Chinchilla, The Big Push, Eden Nash, Ruby J., etc, etc...will consistently continue to yield a "WOW" response. ✌
Fantastic stuff. To hear from an old guard roadie who I know enjoys some of the classic band stuff, that Ren does nothing but wow everytime fills me with excitement 🙂
Don't make the mistake of trying to fit Ren into a specific genre. Ren writes and performs in almost every major genre and does so brilliantly! He doesn't miss! :)
The most consequential artist of my lifetime (65). He has the ability to make me openly weep not only on first time of watching but nearly every rewatch and every reaction.
53 here. And a huge music gal all my life. I like all genres and play and sing myself etc and I agree. The best of my lifetime. Sting is pretty genius too but damn. He is mostly one wheel house where Ren is ALL the houses and ALL the wheels in one human.
OH! By the way, Ren is in the middle of filming a new "tales" series right now. We know at least one song title: Vincent's Tale. I can't wait to find out what the new story is about.
@MusicForTheSoulReactionsbased on Vincent Van Gogh. He has both tales filmed now. Filming non stop since Jan 1st. Got a couple more videos to do abd then off to Mexico for more stem cell treatment.
Hi Steve! Never listened to him before. Even as a slightly prog snob. That was fantastic! All of what he did was brilliant. I’ll be checking your other reactions to him!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions I've seen REN sing Rap, Rock, Doo-op, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, and blend some together and make whole new styleslike Bard Core. He has covers of Elvis and Sinatra thrown in for good measure. ALL done masterfully
Welcome to the Renegades!! We're so happy to have you! The cul... I mean, the book club meets whenever you drop a new Ren reaction! I'd like to suggest; How to be Me - LIVE with Chinchilla, Losing It, and the first drop of the newest album- Slaughterhouse. That should be enough for a good whiplash!! 💜
Slaughterhouse features Kit, a friend Ren met at the clinic in Canada. She's also in the song Money Ties. She speaks at the beginning, such a sweet, beautiful voice. I first thought it was a child, that's how lovely her voice is! I also highly suggest that song, Ren wrote it for his little sisters birthday, although it was late. Something about liquid fighting a laptop... as it does. My last suggestion is an older song that very few react to, but I love this song dearly!! I know if I could travel back to 1990, and play it for my 16 yr old self, I would adore it even more!!! It's called Children of the Moon. It would fit so nicely with my high school collection of Depeche Mode, the Cure, the Clash, and the Sex Pistols, if you sprinkled a bit of Alfred Hitchcock over the whole stack! Honestly though, you could pick ALMOST anything from his music, The Big Push's account, Ren's vlog ME VS M.E., Or the older account from his first band, Trick the Fox. There are a few other accounts that escape me at the moment, but trust me. You have an ENORMOUS selection already!! I've followed many reactors, from as far back as the beginning of 2023, and I have yet to hear of any reactor that has actually COMPLETED Ren's creations/collaborations!! I have, but only because I'm bed bound and have had 2 years to do it thanks to a list of illnesses similar to Ren's, like AS, MCAS, Fibromyalgia, ETC... just a grab bag of fun times. Autoimmune diseases are evil. If you made it this far, thank you so very much!! I rarely feel good enough to join the conversation, so I make up for that when I do by talking one's ears off!! My husband is truly a saint for putting up with me! Enjoy the Ren Rabbithole! Subscribed, liked, and commented. 💜💜💜 PS: I say ALMOST anything, because you should wait to watch KUJO BEATDOWN until you've seen Sick Boi, and Ren's explanation of how Kujo completely screwed Ren over by selling him a beat with a stolen sample. Fascinating and enraging story. Also, I highly suggest that if Ren numbers a group of songs, please do them in order! Someone keeps telling reactors that it doesn't matter if you watch in order, but they're quite incorrect. You'll miss some very subtle easter eggs if you do. 💜💜💜
I really enjoyed your reaction to this! The twist always gets me even though I know it’s coming 😂 would love to see you check out The Big Push next for some Ren and friends busking on the streets of Brighton! I think you will appreciate the music and vocals! Suggest “I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop” or “War Pigs” both are mashups of several songs and they are mind blowing! Make sure you choose the video with Ren wearing red suspenders for the best sound quality! Anything The Big Push does is great! Cheers from Florida!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Just subbed. I'm glad us Brits are slowly finding Ren, even I was slow, only finding him last August. I haven't regretted it since, yet to find a bad track. My personal favourites are Losing It, Baggage (with Chris Webby), Back on 74 and his new one Slaughterhouse. Ren is a once in a lifetime artist, so versatile.
Can't believe he has escaped my awareness for this long! Definitely never heard anyone in UK hyping this dude up. He definitely deserves the plaudits. Thanks for the sub and welcome to the channel 🙂
@MusicForTheSoulReactions You're welcome 😃I've only found one work colleague who's heard of him. We should be standing up proud for our artists. BTW, when you get to the Money Game trilogy, which is a must. The 2nd one you need to listen to the lyric video, but last year Ren also played it live at the Sky Arts awards. The audience were in silence, even Sir Lenny Henry, he looked to be in total concentration to his words. Also, Justin Hawkins from The Darkness is a huge fan of Ren, they've become mates.
Out of the hundreds of reactions and the thousands upon thousands of comments I personally haven't seen anyone "Not like this style" of story telling music. The majority are mind blown and in shock, some cry. Others didn't understand how it came full circle and still didn't grasp "Violet was the mother of the twins Jenny and Screech" but was blown away by the story telling, guitar skills and singing. Ren's story telling is one of the best out there and nobody denies that at all. Ren just got done filming a new set of tales called "Vincent's Tale". (each one will pertain to a Vincent Vangogh painting). He will break the freaking "RUclips" on the day it gets launched on RUclips. Every single music reactor will be reacting to it immediately. A hundred reactions within the first early afternoon and will dominate youtube all weekend. So yes, everyone loves Ren's story telling performances. The reactors with millions of subs will dominate and will trickle from there to the smaller channels. It will be insane that day, and weekend. 😉
Same bro, grew up listening to hip hop(which remains my main passion)although i enjoy many other genres too,but i pretty much fell out of love with new music over the last 5 years or more, and then Ren happened!💥He rekindled my passion for music, and also more generally gave me hope in humanity once again. It's great to see that you're enjoying/appreciating the Ren voyage of discovery,i thought you would👍
Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Also we can’t really warn you 😂 Certainly not without giving spoilers. But even if we tried to describe what you’re in for, I don’t think you would believe it or truly understand until you experience it. All I can say is expect the unexpected and just be as prepared for your mind to be blown as can be 😅 Welcome to the renegades! #OneOfUs #NotACultJustABookClub 👀🤣
Wonderful and articulately put comment 👌 Duly noted, consider myself steeled and sturdy in the face of all future unpredictable songs of Ren's, he's more wylie than the coyote 🤣. Thanks for sharing
I don't think there's such a thing as "ready" where Ren's concerned. The guy has consistently blown my mind since day 1. His ability for variance in his artistry is unmatched imo.
Well all right, you should watch losing it. It is a pure adrenalin rush packed with references to music, film and much more. And you will see the only thing Ren is bad at. Can you spot it? 😅
Great comment, but that's not the only thing Ren is bad at. Beginning of Murderer shows another thing he needs to work on, lol (not to spoil it for this channel creator).
Great reaction fellow Renegade ❤ However, it seems you have been told yet that Ren is very sick and as a result does not tour. Ren's health story is one of resilience and hope in the most desperate of situations which makes his amazing art, that more astounding. Ren started suffering symptoms when he was 19. They were awful and really interfered with his life. He was in 2nd year of Uni in Bath and just had to pull out. He'd been to his Gp and hospitals many times over this period getting tested for all sorts, but unfortunately not for the condition he actually had. Drs started thinking his problems were psychological and decided he must be bipolar and depressed so they sent him home with pills and that was that. Ren took everything but he just got worse and worse. Over time Ren gave up on drs and went his own way, trawling the internet for answers, trying all sorts of supplements, therapies etc that he could afford. But the disease just kept getting worse. He could barely stand, he was in constant excruciating pain, couldn't sleep for days, muscles twitching constantly, brain fog and couldn't tolerate food. At one point things got so bad he had episodes of psychosis but thanks to his mother, avoided being sectioned. Ren spend 8 very long years like this trying everything he could to get better until a dr in Belgium eventually diagnosed him correctly with Lyme's Disease. Unfortunately, bc the original infection had run rampant for so long, Ren is now having to live with a myriad of autoimmune diseases plus nerve and brain damage. He had a couple of stem cell translants after his diagnosis that really helped, but the damage was done. This was most of Ren's 20s. In July Ren came back from Calgary, Canada after enduring 18months of specialist treatment for Lyme's disease but the infection was still present. That coupled with the stress of doing his first live performance in 5 years and a legal problem with a producer tipped him over the edge and Ren crashed again. He will soon be going for treatment again, but is currently filming music videos to leave us with while he is out of action. So count yourself very lucky if you do ever manage to see him live. Im hopeful in the future there will be something but dont expect anything anytime soon. In the meantime Ren is a prolific writer, a bit of a workaholic and a perfectionist so you know anything he does come up with is done at 150%. ❤
What i find wild, and maybe some of y'all would agree, these songs are beautiful and tragic and maybe not in a bopping to Ren playlist, but watching others react to this trilogy is so wonderful. Sorry, im a little high. Love the reaction mate. Haven't found a ren track I don't like. Subbed and liked.
Sadly he can't tour because of his health. Last summer he did one live show at a music festival,(Secret Garden Party) and it wore him out. He then had a huge flare up , was bed ridden and half blind. Thankfully he is getting better but has to go to Mexico soon for more stem cell treatment. So we probably will never get a tour.
Unbelievable! I have to admit, there's nothing like this guy. What a talent. You're right to point out what it must be like to put all these components together, genius! It's rough, yeah, but domestic voilence it a tough subject. And random street voilence, then to tie them together...Wow! Another great reaction, what a Sunday. Nice job. US Roadie 1 signing off...
His last serious relapse a few months ago made it plain he will not be able to tour. Stress and overwork trigger his autoimmunity and put him in bed for 2 months. Really scary for everyone. So glad i flew to UK to see him in July at Secret Garden Party festival His 18 months in Canada failed to get rid of his Lyme and Bartonella infections. Though his brain functioning seems better.
Bit Late to the Party Mate .but better Late than Never. Have you heard of The big Push .a band he was in. Sam Thomkins. Chinchilla. Eden Nash .Liv Sangster. Some Fantastic British Artist.
14:40 That made me laugh so much. True! Just know that you'll never be ready for a Ren song and you'll be somewhat ready. Sadly Ren can't tour because of his health. Maybe one day.
Sadly, Ren can't tour because of his health. He's hoping to be able to do one-off shows here and there but right this second even that isn't possible. He did his first solo show in five years over the summer and (along with all the other things he was trying to accomplish straight out of a year and a half of treatment) burnt himself out so badly he relapsed and was mostly bedbound for two months. He's always on the search for more treatment options, hoping to regain more of his life. In a matter of weeks he'll be headed to Mexico for a third stem cell treatment.
Ren has several songs that I have to be in the right state of mind before I listen. This is one of them. Still love it so much though. a really really fun song to check out is Losing It. A nice change from the serious stuff. Thanks for the video!!
Yeah, this was quite a heavy story, I can see why there would be a tike and a place. I'm sure, once I've heard more of his work, I'll be picking and choosing too. Look forward to hearing some of his lighter work too
“But you CAN SEDATE IT!” 😂 Just subbed and loved your reaction! Cheers from a fellow nurses, if you’re a nurse… I’m assuming from your shirt! You’ll LOVE this rabbit 🐇 hole. His art is a great break from our work world for sure…
I am indeed...no more fitting a t-shirt..if you live that world, you know what I mean 🤣. Totally agree, this guy has a delightful way if offering some escapism, even if the world he creates is a dark and grungy one! Thanks for the comment and sub
I am tickled watching u learn about Ren. If I had a dollar for everytime the "Who's Violet" is said I would be a millionaire!!!😂❤😂❤ just wait u think u know his style, genre, etc. Can not wait for u discover he can not be put into a box!❤ 🇺🇸
The only thing that I find disappointing in most of the reactions to Violets tale is the lack of acknowledgement to the fact that Violet's father abused and her mother knew about it. This is the reality for many and for some reason it rarely gets mentioned. Decent enough of a reaction.
Yeah I can understand your frustrations. Can be hard sometimes trying to soak in every detail, especially with one such as Ren who packs a feast for the eyes as well as the ears! Appreciate the comment
If you like the evolution of rap, then you should try The Hunger by Ren. It has everything in it. Hip hop, rap, beat boxing, lyrically spot on and a leason in the genre.
Haha right there with you, I caught enough to keep up with the story, which in this case is what matters, seems always a secondisten through is needed with Ren. Cheers for watching as always Neal
Im trying, I really am but, its just not clicking with me. Its interesting, to say the least, and most certainly unique. But, I just don't get that blown away feeling from it... But, Ill keep on watching you! Maybe ill come around 🤪
Hey, I at least appreciate your efforts and above all else, honesty! That's the strangeness of music, different tastes from ear to ear! I've had a few reactions where id say it's not too my preference, but always something to appreciate, be it, vocals, instrumental skill or creativity. Cheers from coming along for the journey regardless
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Well, I'm certainly not going anywhere, gotta be here to see you do the" In the Cage Medley / Afterglow " reaction 😄 Plus, like yesterday with the IQ reaction, I had never heard of them but, now I have and am better for it!
Hi! I STRONGLY recommend you watch How To Be Me - the live version with Chinchilla. It’s more of a ballad - completely different. I’m a proud Renegade but it took a few listens to fully appreciate the Tales. This ballad however was instant love. Try it!! Best wishes x

I don't think Ren can dance. 🤣🤣
@bodilfrausing7966 I haven't seen him sing country but he probably could if he wanted to.
WARNING! Ren will blow your minde again, and again, and again... so get ready. Your IQ will grow yes and your EQ will grow as much. Great reaction.

However, it seems you have been told yet that Ren is very sick and as a result does not tour.
❤
He reminds time with his guitar.
Hahaha no worries, you enjoy that high mate 👌. Welcome aboard the music for the soul channel my good man
Sadly he can't tour because of his health.
Last summer he did one live show at a music festival,(Secret Garden Party) and it wore him out.
He then had a huge flare up , was bed ridden and half blind. Thankfully he is getting better but has to go to Mexico soon for more stem cell treatment.
So we probably will never get a tour.
So sad, such a talented man deserves to see his recognition and to connect with his fantom. Can only hope he finds a way to get better 🤞
Such a shame. Lucky you in getting to see this gem on a rare performance outing. Can only hope he somehow gets to bet this thing one day! 🤞
Bit Late to the Party Mate .but better Late than Never. Have you heard of The big Push .a band he was in. Sam Thomkins. Chinchilla. Eden Nash .Liv Sangster. Some Fantastic British Artist.
Seems I'm super late...I'd prefer to say fashionably late 😉. I've heard people mention the Big Push. Will no doubt get to them too at some point
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Fastionably Late ! That's Like Neanderthals Telling Homo Sapiens .its Fur next Season.!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Three Bear skins and a Orix pelt .
14:40 That made me laugh so much. True!
Just know that you'll never be ready for a Ren song and you'll be somewhat ready. Sadly Ren can't tour because of his health. Maybe one day.
🤣🤣 👌
Yeah so I believe, such a shame as I bey his concerts would be insane!
Such sad things to happen to such a talented individual. We can only hope he gets the Cure he so desperately needs and deserves 🤞
Good job. Enjoyed your reaction. Looking for ward to more.
Look forward to hearing some of his lighter work too
❤ Thank you ❤
Loved your reaction bro
Cheers, really appreciate that
k just saw the tile OMG i can not wait to see this reaction WHOA
“But you CAN SEDATE IT!” 😂 Just subbed and loved your reaction! Cheers from a fellow nurses, if you’re a nurse… I’m assuming from your shirt! You’ll LOVE this rabbit 🐇 hole. His art is a great break from our work world for sure…
I am indeed...no more fitting a t-shirt..if you live that world, you know what I mean 🤣. Totally agree, this guy has a delightful way if offering some escapism, even if the world he creates is a dark and grungy one! Thanks for the comment and sub
Welcome new RENegade! 🫶
Wonderful reaction
Losing it or Illest of our Time are good rap tracks. Losing it is done over an EDM beat by Fisher, but the raps are all REN.
Your going to have fun with Ren! You will learn a lot ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think you're absolutely right!
Welcome to the Rabbit hole fellow RENegade.
You remind me of me mate you 😂😊❤ a fellow northener, love it 😊👍❤️❤️❤️
Shakespearean tragedy in C21
I am tickled watching u learn about Ren. If I had a dollar for everytime the "Who's Violet" is said I would be a millionaire!!!😂❤😂❤ just wait u think u know his style, genre, etc. Can not wait for u discover he can not be put into a box!❤ 🇺🇸
I suggest Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla next. Pure singing and power
I'll be there for his singing for sure!
It took me like 10 watches to figure out how he got in the street. The picture he paints is so powerful, you don’t see it.
🌸💕🐰💕🌸
Haha baffling wasn't it. Just a meandering stroll, delivering amazing storytelling, and somehow, he suddenly arrives in the street! 🤯
Great reaction subbed for more Ren❤
You're very kind, welcome
Good one!
You have witnessed the true GOAT!!!
I'm beginning to believe it!
Ironically - this song was inspired by a news article that ren read about random violence
Turning tragedy into art 👌
What sort of music do you want next this lad dose it all. I for 1 haven’t been disappointed in anything Iv heard 😊
I think I'll venture to the singing or jokey side perhaps
Welcome! Glad to have you. You'll learn to cope, lol.
Hahaha I sure hope so!!!
Brand new reactor? Ooooh here we go.. :)
Haha hope I did Ren justice for you 🤞
Don't quite think a warning is really a viable thing. Nobody is ever ready for something they haven't seen from Ren.
Our modern day shakespearean bard 🥹💜💜
💯👌
Love it mate
Weren't half bad was it!
If you like the evolution of rap, then you should try The Hunger by Ren. It has everything in it. Hip hop, rap, beat boxing, lyrically spot on and a leason in the genre.
I tried to listen to the lyrics but me brain couldn’t keep up
Great reaction Steve lol
Haha right there with you, I caught enough to keep up with the story, which in this case is what matters, seems always a secondisten through is needed with Ren. Cheers for watching as always Neal
Ren❤❤❤❤
one word "brilliant" 😁
So good!
💯👌
Back for MORE !!!! 💯🫡🐺😎💯🔥
Absolutely...over and over again!
expand the mind, priceless. :)
Welcome to the renegades!
Chalk Outlines should be next!
that's another really serious one. It's incredible.
Welcome to the renegades
“My IQ is growing from watching this” 😂😂😂
🤣...I'm happy about that too, I need the help!
@ 😂😂😂
No. There is nothing he can't do, since you asked. ;)
Crazy ending huh
Just a bit 🤯
Im trying, I really am but, its just not clicking with me. Its interesting, to say the least, and most certainly unique. But, I just don't get that blown away feeling from it...
But, Ill keep on watching you! Maybe ill come around 🤪
Hey, I at least appreciate your efforts and above all else, honesty! That's the strangeness of music, different tastes from ear to ear! I've had a few reactions where id say it's not too my preference, but always something to appreciate, be it, vocals, instrumental skill or creativity. Cheers from coming along for the journey regardless
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Well, I'm certainly not going anywhere, gotta be here to see you do the" In the Cage Medley / Afterglow " reaction 😄
Plus, like yesterday with the IQ reaction, I had never heard of them but, now I have and am better for it!
Hi! I STRONGLY recommend you watch How To Be Me - the live version with Chinchilla. It’s more of a ballad - completely different. I’m a proud Renegade but it took a few listens to fully appreciate the Tales. This ballad however was instant love. Try it!! Best wishes x
@@analisasmith7927 I'll give it a listen. I admit, I prefer his "singing " over the other parts. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@heavin6586let me know how it goes!!x
