I so wish this is how the game actually wrapped up, I remember being very underwhelmed by the way MGSV ended and I’d heard about cut content but I never knew it was to this extent a whole other chapter on an island taken over by Liquid, battling Eli piloting the Metal Gear along with Diamond Dogs, then the twists of him shooting Eli due to a seizure and losing his vision it’s all so amazing, the backdrop, the developments, this would have been such a better ending I think ! Can’t believe I’m only seeing it now all these years later

MGSV was supposed to be the ending of the Big Boss games. If Kojima was still with Konami and Konami wanted to keep pumping out this high budget MGS games, I think the next set of MGS games would of been starring Liquid/Eli.
Otacon designed REX. The explanation was that Otacon was subconsciously thinking back to Sahelanthropus because of the time he was forced to test pilot it as a child.
Even if it was just a full cutscene, yeah. Because, when has that NOT hapoened in an MGS game. But what's done is done, and MGS had a great run. I was with it from the start (except for the MSX ones - those would come years later). Today, it remains my favorite game series of all time.

RebeLyon you cant. This was scrapped content from the game. The footage in this film was compiled together from the collectors edition of the game. This however, is not playable and not in the final version.
This is unfinished content that was cut from the game because Kojima was fired before it could be finished meaning this mission will never be playable
Isaiah Aguilera yeap, mission 51 was meant to be you as Venom Snake, fighting sahelanthropus again, then it would head to chapter 3 Peace, where you would be disarming the nukes (in theory, but makes sense)

What are you talking about? It was epic, they just didn't show the epic fight cuz it was never made.
Maybe Kojima did this all on purpose to make YOU/US experience the "phantom pain" of an "unfinished" game?
Also if Mantis was so badass as a kid it makes you wonder if he didnt let Solid kill him to further his power, such as "The Sorrow" did by dying he achieved his "final form" O=
Nah. Konami just didn't let him finish his game because it was taking too long and using too much money. And then they kicked his butt.
