      She is the perfect person Priscilla loves to take advantage of. Riley saw what she did at her book promotion in Memphis. Priscilla CRASHED Riley's book promotion and ended up taking over the entire program talking about herself.

    What a great interview. Thank you for giving Riley the space to speak uninterrupted, she and her mother are truly fascinating. The bulk of the interviews throughout the book tour were sorely lacking, focusing on nonsense and Michael Jackson 🙄 instead of the actual book subjects, so thank you so much for respectfully focusing on Riley, Lisa Marie and the book, as it should have been. I hope Riley and the rest of her family have easy, boring lives from here on out.

      I totally aggre with you, I love Michael so I was happy to heard a bit about them in the book I think that was a happy moment in her life, but hey.
      When I read the book? I was actually so shocked people didn’t talked about Lisa’s SA ?! Michael Edwards?????
      Also her relationship with her mother..
      Like.. so much important things to talk about .. and they do not !

      I was disappointed that she didn't show up at Graceland for Elvis' birthday celebration. No family there. It was a corporate bunch who ran it with no personal attachment anymore to Elvis. It's all about making it profitable. Riley will just do commercials and promotion.

      Lisa continued the tradition of being at Graceland with fans for Elvis' birthday. Riley, except for a promotion once in a while, was MIA at Elvis' birthday. It was a corporate birthday with some stiffs no one knew. Jack Soden was the only personal person who attended. The rest were corporate people making money on the event. It was sad that the Presley family connection to Graceland died with Lisa I guess. Priscilla has been excommunicated, but no one wants to see her there anyway, so Elvis' birthday was a cold corporate controlled event this year. Very impersonal, and just to promote Graceland as a business.

    I read this book- and I just wished I could have given Lisa a hug, and invited her to one of my small town slumber parties as a teen, because the girls at those slumber parties are the women I am closest to until this day. I just wish I could have given her a normal day, and been her friend. Riley, you are truly a treasure.

    Riley, why was SO much of your mom's tapes left out of 'her' book? For example, the years prior to her death, where she eliminated your grandmother and Lisa's manager as Trustees of/on her Promenade Trust; divorcing Lockwood; and other pertinent periods that were very obviously omitted from her book.

    • @fredericksmith7169
      @fredericksmith7169 2 месяца назад +8

      But we don't know exactly what Lisa Marie included in her tapes. I can see where such things as the trust dispute and Lockwood situation would be left out so as not to open up family wounds. For one thing it might have been very hurtful to Harper and Finley. Maybe in a subsequent book years down the road.

      @@fredericksmith7169 I totally understand where you're coming from regarding the Twins. But the book was supposed to be Lisa Marie's Memoire. There's a lot of Riley input in it. Also, considering the twins, why put the book out at this time if not everything would be included as recorded by Lisa...I mean, waiting until the twins are eighteen or older? It's apparent that Lisa's wanting her book written was for people to 'understand' her. I feel in my gut that not all of Lisa's words were included in 'her' book. Many other old timer fans also believe the latter.

    Lisa Marie did have a lot of friends but they were back at GRACELAND and her mother chose to take her out of there. Her father side of the family their children, loved Lisa deeply and still do. If she had just gone back to that area to live she might’ve been happier. There were people there who cared a lot about her. People I would love to see Riley and get in touch with! But Lisa was tied to LA by her mother Miss Priscilla. When she was young.

      Lisa wrote that she regularly stayed with Elvis' cousin Patsy, and would enjoy her time with her and her family. Vernon made the Smiths leave Graceland after Elvis died - they weren't there for Lisa to visit with. Lisa chose not to reach out to them once she matured

    I just finished the book, and I wish I could give her a hug. Lisa said long ago that alot of times, Riley acted like the mother. I remember meeting Lisa once, and Riley and Ben were there..Ben with a bunch of curls. She's kept mentioning here her children. Did she have another beside Tupelo?

    Lisa Marie experienced serious loss early and did not receive the proper support from her mom; Lisa Marie suffered abuse at the hands of Priscilla’s partner and Lisa did not receive the love and protection from her mother. No wonder she had low self esteem, depression, anxiety, and needed meds. Why doesn’t anyone address that fact. A child grows up with fame but no unconditional love and respect. IMO

    Riley has an exception soul. She has had so much hardship losing her mother and taking on Graceland. That's sad, but Lisa would want Riley to remember how much her mom loved being there. Ben and Lisa are there because she loved it. It was home to her. Riley's children will be able to know their family and the Elvis connection will live on. I only hope Riley can stay far away from her Priscilla on the issue of Graceland, however, she was also horrible to her Lisa. Over the years Priscilla has unfortunately lied and has said things that should have been kept quiet. She was hateful to Lisa. I believe it stems from something Elvis said once, "Lisa was the love of his life". I truly feel Priscilla was jealous of Elvis' connection to Lisa. He didn't have the same connection with Priscilla. Unfortunately, she made Lisa pay for it Elvis' feeling about his little daughter, by being a horrible mother to her. It is said that Priscilla and Lisa didn't speak, for 8 years, except when necessary toward the end of Lisa's life. Priscilla didn't even wait for Riley to arrive at the hospital to see her mother. Priscilla has lied in interviews, and said they went out for a drink after the Golden Globes, which was Lisa's last public appearance. Lisa couldn't walk without holding onto Jerry Schilling. I believe the truth is that they were NOT speaking before Lisa's death and hadn't been for 8 yrs. except when necessary. Lisa did not want to sit next to her mother at the GG's. She was pushed to by photographers. Priscilla ended up suing Lisa's will, and taking 1M from an insurance policy that Lisa left for her children. Riley ended up paying her legal fees. Riley also gave her 100,000 a yr. for 10 years, 25,000 paid to Priscilla as an advisor to Graceland if Riley needed her help. It was the only way to get rid of her. She has probably spent it all, as she has no idea how to manage money. She bled Elvis to death money wise before his physical death. Priscilla has proven over decades to be a liar, a grifter, and she will do anything for money. She was the worst mistake Elvis ever made. He married a fan. The only worst thing in the future would be to allow her to be buried at Graceland, when she was horrible to Lisa, Ben, Elvis, and Vernon, none of which had any use for her. Why bring Priscilla's negativity into Meditation Garden when it is designed to be a peaceful place, and she's a disruptive element. Elvis would not want his EX wife buried near him. He was engaged to someone else before he died. It makes no sense for anyone other than family to be there, but that will be up to Riley now. Another hurdle for her to jump over. I remember reading that once Priscilla had a fight with Mike Stone after she left Elvis. She called Elvis, and asked if she could come back to Graceland. Elvis said No. That should be Riley's answer to Priscilla as far as being buried there. "Elvis already solved that problem. He told Priscilla she couldn't come back to Graceland. That would be alive or dead. That is ELVIS' answer to Priscilla being buried at Graceland. No. She left, and Elvis said, No, she couldn't come back.
