In 2009, Jon and Steve performed "Concerto for Group and Orchestra" in Lucern with Guy Pratt on bass guitar and an orchestra. One of my best moments in my life.
As a DP fan, I have never been crazy about this song. However, this is great and the best version I have ever heard. Crisp and alive...not withstanding Jon & Steve being with the Lord. Both you guys are missed!
Social media are both, a blessing and a curse. Lots of the heroes of my chioldhood are already gone. In this case RUclips is a blessing. So we may watch and listen to John Lord and all the others over and over again. Last but not least: There's no alternative to a real Hammond as you may see here.
Despite forty years since the first time Deep Purple played this song even sounded spectacular in 2008. Steve Lee's voice ... spectacular! Jon Lord on keyboards also sounds spectacular!
Lets.Fix that tiny mistake of discription box.. His accident wasn't in Utah it was in Nevada just over Az border..It was the place he saw a horizon sun rise or sunset took his last breath.. last Thoughts of family freinds love joy happiness. Steve Lee - Died 10-5-2010 in Mesquite, NV, U.S. - Motorcycle accident ( Rock ) Born 8-5-1963 in Zurich, Switzerland - Singer - Was a member of Forsale and Gotthard (They did, “Heaven” and “Need To Believe”).
Good cover of Joe South's work. I'm confused. This is a Swiss band, playing to a Swiss audience in Switzerland. Yet Mr. Lee speaks in English. I thought I caught a little bit of non-English in there too, but most of his intro is in English. Why?
Steve Lee's father came from Great Britain, his mother from Switzerland. The non- English phrases are in so-called "Schwiizerdüütsch", in "Swiss pronounced German" which is also for Germans who are not used to this special sound of accent nearly non-understandable... Could I answer your question ?
Quando guardo questo video piango per la perdita di questi 2 grandi artisti: John Lord e Steve Lee. Massimo rispetto 🤩
The master of the hammonds and stevie amazing r.i.p. both

Odd. They are Swiss, they are playing to a Swiss audience, but the intro is in English. No problem, just a little "different."
Mr. Vinegaroon that's because Jon was an English speaking man...:) I think Steve was polite so that Jon could understand what he said :)
Thanks. I got it now. @@tjazzy3204
