All I know is I cared for his mom #CANDY in the nursing home I worked in 2002. She had a great spirit, could sing, and loved her puzzles. I dont know you Mr Carter... but your not right. This is his story,his perspective.Two children in the same family can have different point of views.I have two cousins(a brother and a sister) and they have 2 opposite views of their parents,their childhood,etc.One says she had a fantastic childhood,loving parents while he says he had a horrible childhood,unsupportive parents.They have different point of views,different perspectives,different realities.BTW my cousins are only 18 months apart and were raised together in the same household.

I'm late to the party but I have an opinion. I bought Terrell's book after watching this interview. The book was good but it ended so abuprtly he left so much out I can tell. He told about everyone's sexual abuse but never talked about his sexuality (being gay) or anything. It was just weird. Another thing I noticed is half of the book is describing details about things that took place BEFORE his birth. I see why he has "based on a true story" on the side of the book. I believe this book to be part fiction. Sometimes we get so caught up trying to tell other people's stories we forget to tell our own. Save your money it was not worth the $27 I spent on Amazon I feel duped. I was expecting him to fully talk about his relationships, sexuality, struggle to make it in Hollywood, etc. This book could have been so much more. He hints to him being gay in the book but never comes out and says it which I think is a cop out. The grits scenario was take right out of a Tyler Perry movie. I do think this book would make a good movie but I don't believe it to be Terrell's true life story. So sad him and his sister are not close; but it happens in families. I hate he had to turn his back on family in order to make it in Hollywood.

Funny Hearing This Epic Testimony That all You Can Think Of Is Something Negative. I remember he had nothing and I thought this girl Robyn Adams was too good for him because she came from a good family. But I am glad he let God inspire him to be bigger than anyone would have imagined he could be anything. I remember I use to try to get him in my choir AVIP Because I Knew Terrell Was Too big for Buffalo and too big for petty remarks like the one you just made..
