Hi there!! your video was inspiring for me. I made my first wheels using railroad spikes. Im a newcomer on this things and having used your video as a guide was really usefull, clear, and easy. bending the one inch iron was the most difficult part. Txs again and I wish I can send some photos of my creation, but not knowing how to. saludos desde Argentina
You didn't show keeping the center tube square off the wheel, nor spinning the wheel checking for square by the wheel spinning straight with no wobble. Keeping the center tube square is usually the hardest part of building a wheel without a jig. Thanks for showing.
I made the circle of OSB to help me bend the rim to a decent circular shape, and hole centered for the axle to sit inside while I welded equal size spokes. So the OSB template was also kind of a jig. I'm sure there is better methods, but at the time, and for what the project called for this seemed to work okay. I have a project video of me installing these wheels if you'd like to see them being used.
I love the simplicity of your work, great stuff
