Ruby’s storyline broke my heart. She was showing such tremendous growth and obviously we can’t hang that on Otis being with her, but I’m just so sad for her. I feel like Otis didn’t deserve her.

@@videodudeler When I saw the episode 7 of season 3, when they hook up for the first time, I was kind of expecting that something else would happen between them because it would be so much fun to watch. But I certainly didn't expect Ruby to fall so bad for him, or that I would fall in love with them as a couple either. I still didn't get over the way it ended. Hopefully there's more to come.

This season I really felt like Ruby and Otis might end up together that interaction on ruby’s house was too good to leave it at that. They could learn from each other a lot.

I think that Maeve and Otis dragged out so long that Otis and Ruby started to make a lot more sense. But of course the writers cut it off because they had to follow up on some expectations, but I don't think they realized how those expectations shifted a bit.
The writers messed up. They dragged out Otis and Maeve for a little too long, and with the breaks between each season, the excitement is kinda lost and by the time season 3 was up most people were over it. They rushed a lot of things in season 3 too, I feel like there should have been a stronger plot for Ruby and Otis. and Maeve and Otis should have had way more screen time together too, in order to make us care about them again. the way they went about it this season was... idk. something was missing for sure.

Personally I never really cared about the romance in the story bcs the show’s already good on its own so I just watch whatever’s going on, but I do notice that Otis and Maeve’s story has been a bit weird bcs the writers try to make them apart for too long. I thought it would be for the intensity or whatever, but it’s gotten way too far LMAO so idk for sure now. So Ruby and Otis together kinda elevated this season, they were very fun to watch
@@sodasoda3624 yes this! and a lot of writers have this issue I think because they use these relationships to keep a lot of viewers hooked, but most of the time, the characters usually get together in the middle of say, season 2. or at least the plot could have been stronger to keep it dragged out to season 3 but, oh well :/
I agree 100%. The whole Ross and Rachel thing they did with Otis and Maeve was part of what ruined season 3 for me, because it was so drawn out and predictable. And it made both characters come off as selfish and unsympathetic, because they went into new relationships knowing their hearts weren't truly in them.
The whole Otis and Meave nonsense completely undersold Otis and Ruby, because we all knew that it wasn't going to last. The same goes for Maeve and Isaac. Otis and Meave should have been way past the point of hiding their feelings for one another, so it was annoying to drag their shit out for a whole other season. It would have been nice to see both of them move on and try to navigate the completely different dynamics in their new relationships, because Otis and Meave were the least interesting thing about season 3.

Ruby and Otis "hooking up" was definitely a "shock" to me. Though, when it happened, Ruby falling hard on Otis is not surprising. I mean... Otis have ways with his words and very good making people feel good and comfortable in which it made Ruby open up to him. He knows how to be a good person - helping Ruby with her dad, not judging her and stuff. But i think he definitely needs to make up his mind first on what he feels and who he should commit to. He keeps his feelings going on and off with Maeve (so is Maeve with Otis). Ruby deserves better and not unrequited love. Hopefully season 4 is better and not full of complicated thoughts and feelings with Maeve and Otis. It's getting a bit draggy in which i feel like Maeve and Otis is not meant to be together, but let's see.

To be honest, I think they should introduce a new couple for Maeve now that she's going to the USA. I was a Otis x Maeve guy but Otis x Ruby this season was so brilliant, it felt like a breath of fresh air.

@@seanpaddy5919 same, get Otis with Ruby and Maeve with Isaac in season 4 and I’ll be happy (I’m not exactly Isaac’s biggest fan personally but I can’t deny the “sex” scene he had with Maeve was actually quite cute, plus if Maeve did end up returning from America and stayed single I’d constantly be terrified that Maeve would swoop in and ruin it somehow, the reason Isaac ended it with her was because he would be afraid that she would always wish she’d tried dating Otis, so now that she has to some extent there is a chance for Maeve and Isaac to try again). Whether or not they do end up actually getting back together they’re definitely going to have quite a few interactions, the amount of stuff I noticed watching episode 5 that proves she still loves him, the writers would never put that much into one episode and then just not continue their story in the next season, and I think I have a theory how it could work. There were a lot of Ruby’s scenes that were themed around pregnancy, like literally the first time her and Otis spend more than 10 minutes together in an episode the whole theme of the episode is them both worrying that Ruby is pregnant. Stuff like her conversation with Jean about how the father of the baby could turn out to be a dickhead, or even more subtle ones like her conversation with Adam on their double date or when her Olivia and Anwar went to the doctors she was in the waiting room reading a leaflet about teenage pregnancy. I spotted a few more but I cba to type them all out. Irl all of these scenes would probably be a coincidence, but this is a scripted world where nothing is added for no reason. It’s not the first time the writers would have done something similar either, literally in the very first episode Adam sees that wooden dick on the wall and started playing around with it, now he’s openly gay, when Otis was dressed as Hedwig and went into the shop where Ola worked she commented on his makeup and said Hedwig was one of her favourite cosplay characters, now she’s in a relationship with Lily having sex while cosplaying as aliens. So if she’s pregnant with Otis’ baby it could explain how they end up talking again after Otis broke her heart that badly. It would also create a nice parallel between Otis and Ruby and Jean and Jakob, both started out casual, both male partners wanted to become official and start properly dating, both are now expecting children together, or in the case of Jean and Jakob have already had the child and it’s under question who the father actually is. I doubt they’d do that last bit with Otis and Ruby tho because then it would just be a bit odd having your relationship being literally the EXACT same as your mum’s relationship with her boyfriend/lover/coparent idfk what to class Jakob as anymore.

I would love it if rubyotis were endgame, even tho I love motis I can’t deny the chemistry mimi and asa has. also I just love a bittersweet ending! so even tho otis doesn’t end up with his first love, ruby does bc otis is her first love and it kinda gives you a little reality feel bc not everyone ends up with their first love(otis) but there’s some rare circumstances where you do(ruby). He may not have ended up with maeve but he found love again and I feel like that kind of ending will have more of an impact than your typical “guy gets girl he’s been pining for since forever” especially bc they’ve been dragging it for so long that a lot has lost interest in them.

I think why so many people ship Ruby and Otis is two reasons. 1) the chemistry. They managed to show so much chemistry between the two that is just as exciting as Maeve and Otis’s and I would argue that it’s better. 2) they’ve dragged on Maeve and Otis’s relationship in a span of 3 seasons and they’re still not officially together by the end of the season. It was nice seeing Otis finally happy and with someone that would be a good pairing.

i think writers are so happy that they got second option. They could get away with murder if Emma leaves the show cause they got Ruby now. She was the best written character this season. Episodes with her were the best in my opinion. Episode with Ruby's dad was my favorite. Also its kinda wierd that there is no Emma in any of the interviews thats a bad sign.

I'm sure or at least most agrees that the 3 season build up for motis was long overdue sadly. Ruby and Adam really gave life to the series on s3. My favorite scene was with ruby's dad, that's where I felt like they are for each other, and tbh, otis met ruby's parent first than maeve's parent so hmm. When rotis are alone, you could see the spark of them that could last a lifetime who pull each other up everytime.

The only few moments they tried exciting new couples they ruined them because same old same old toxic ships, to the point of ruining characters for it. As much of a fan I am of Maeve and Otis, I can’t deny that I really enjoyed seeing Ruby and Otis together and Ruby’s growth throughout the season. I am hoping to continue to see more of her character in the 4th season.

I was not expecting the writers to deliver this relationship in season 3. Frankly, I'm tired of the whole "will they? Won't they" Maeve and Otis thing, so I'd be happy to see Otis and Ruby pursued further in season 4 (especially considering that they have really good on screen chemistry).

@@jerrickpedroza8006: IF there is going to be a season 4, I think they're going to drag this Otis and Meave shit out, even though it's the worst thing to do. It dragged season 3 down in such a fashion. It was difficult to have any investment in it when you could see that they became better people WITH other people. Otis was more open with Ruby, and Maeve was more at ease with Isaac.
I literally had to watch it twice because i was just stunned how gorgeous Mimi is and wasn't paying attention to what they are saying at all 😂😂

It’s weird to see the Rotis arc with the scene, before last scene, how she looked out the window seeing maeve and otis together. Then the next scene we see Ruby was at the forum/presentation day. It felt cut short.
I honestly loved Maeve and Otis as a thing in season 1 and 2 but season 3 made their ship questionable lmfao.

Before season 2, we wanted otis and maeve to get together but as the show progresses there are changes that different characters go through. People may have different opinions about these changes but IMO ruby and otis really worked together in this season.

Ruby carries all the season, her chemistry with Otis is hilarious and great. They have a lot of potential as a couple and deserve each other, I really hope writers won’t take the most obvious and easy way: an ending with Maeve, honestly the sparks between them are gone and it would be so non-sense ending for a good serie :(. Ruby deserves more time-screen, she’s more than the other option of Otis , her character deserves to be the ONE❤️

Honestly, I just want Ruby to take the spotlight in S4, if there is one. I love Ruby and Otis and wanted them to be together in S3, but after the I-really-like-you-but-I-don't-love-you thing, I think that maybe I'll be even more satisfied if she moves on, open up again for somebody new who really loves her and be happy forming an even more iconic couple, if that's possible. I don't know, I just want closure for her. And it would be nice if, whilst mantaining some of her bad ass façade, she grew more friendly towards Otis and Eric despite what happened between them and their not being in a relationship anymore.
Also, I want more of Mimi Keene in interviews, because I'm in love with her.
Ruby and Otis was a nice surprise in season 3. I'd like to see them become friends, and maybe Otis realising over time that he IS falling in love with her. But they have to take Meave off the table. Because they can't do the 'will they, won't they' for another season. It's tired now. It shoulda been nipped in the bud at the beginning of season 3.

Either Otis and Maeve cut the bullshit and decide to communicate properly and try to work their relationship out for good or they realize that it's never gonna happen because there's always something in the way and just become good friends. Actually, that's how I think they're better together really. And then they can move on to other things with an open heart. I think that they kind of missed the right time to be together as a couple when Maeve didn't get Otis' message because Isaac erased it. Maybe that's what this last season was about: they could fix things between them because the truth was unveiled, but the moment was gone and a lot happened in between, they're not the same anymore and there's other people's feelings involved too.
And yeah, I really do hope that Ruby and Otis can sort things out between themselves too. But honestly, I just don't know if it suits Ruby's character to take him back being rejected like that. Well, not exactly rejected, but that was pretty tough. Otis we'll have some hard work ahead of him if he realizes that his feelings for Ruby were stronger than he thought.
