I would appreciate it if you guys would check out my recent video as i personally think was done far better than this one, this video was my first video where ive had to do research and missed out a few massive points such as the lockdown etc. it was also my first video to make fully on After Effects so i was messing around with the memes which resulted in the videos flow being ruined. If this video didnt blow up it would've been deleted already by now, but thank you for checking me out :)
Both are W vids frfr
Gabi is an important and interesting character, most of people who hate her are people who do not understand what AoT is really about and did not understand the ending even.
Dude are you kidding this vid is awesome! The editing had me loling 10 seconds in. keep it up man.
Will do, this one was great, my only complaint is that the memes and jokes that pause the flow of the video are too frequent and can get annoying, but keep it up man your editing is nice. Also stop being a Gabi hater
@@Magn0Dota thanks for the constructive criticism it’s really what new creators need and a lot of people like to say great vid and move on, I even felt like it was a lot of memes but I didn’t expect it to reach so many people. I actually changed my mind about gabi too ngl I saw someone in the comments saying her and Connie are very alike and it’s actually pretty true (Connie is goated)
All the respect to the staff who sometimes overwork themselves. Yet treat us with such Anime throughout a entire year.
Constantly overworked*
”Sometimes overwork themseelves” 😅😅
yeah its not "sometimes"
They totally want to do that and arent forced at all 😁👍
Respect to them who literally sacrifices their lives for a little bit of money and our entertainment, I'll pay them just decent enough by praising their works online and pirating their works. I hope Gods produce a lot of people like them
I think Mappa’s biggest advantage besides the high quality is the ability to pick good series, like if you use your budget to invest in a show with bad plot, no matter how amazing the animation is, people still won’t watch it, so I think it’s pretty important to pick the good show as the first step. Dororo, Dorohedoro, banana fish, yuri on ice, JJK and chainsaw man are all good shows with interesting plot
Demon slayer
@@shakkedgolan7954 Demon Slayer doesn't have a bad plot, it has a basic plot, huge difference
@@SenorGuina I just watched a 1 hour video on why it has a bad plot
True, they instead have bad quality animation in good series
@@shakkedgolan7954 although I am not a fan of DS I would say that its plot is just mid, not that bad, animation carries the series
I believe we all just need to appreciate these studios and animators for going through the difficulties of making us excited with every release of new episodes.

@@cinders11037 lmao I already know who are you spoiling?
The mappa effect is pretty funny to me. The shows are peaking at those points for a few different reasons. Firstly, for shows like AOT and JJK these shows are coming in with alot of hype to begin with even prior to the announcement of the seasons. Secondly, mappa simply got alot of good series at the same time and adapted them well. They've managed to gain momentum from animating all those great series and that is what is boosting their new animes. The real Mappa effect has been their ability to take existing hype and transferring it to their other projects.
AOT had a lot of hype because season 3 part 2 gave the series a huge boost and phenomenal critical reception. But the other big thing, aspecially for JJK, was covid. Covid blew up home entertainment and others things. Such as manga, manga sales blew up in the US and worldwide.
Chainsww man was already really popular prior to anime and even before the announcement. And along with spy ramily, the reason the manga got so popular in 2020 was cause of covid.
So basically it's all cause of covid lol.
@@ben99ny69so many typos and mistakes that I can't even tell what you're saying, would it kill you to proofread?
@@MidnightNachos I typed on my phone and didn't have time to check. But damn I wrote gibberish lol.

@@MidnightNachos if you don't understand him, then I think you should go to school first
I would say that the contrast change in the animation of AoT S4 was amazing it went along with the dark twist and war driven storyline, it really changed the mood.
It made everything look grayish and the color palate was ugly as hell
The artstyle is good, but the stiff titans and ugly movements were the real problem
It looks more like the manga
i still prefer the first studio than mappa. if you like Aot now because of mappa's stiffed 3d model characters, you might like berserk stiff 3d animation too. which most of the audience hated.
@@TRAUSSdraws I may be wrong, but I think most people liked the fourth season anyway because a big part of the viewers weren't anime watchers, and they started with shingeki because of its popularity
The success of Attack of the Titans at the time was due to the popularity of season 3, which took time to reach a wider audience. People were therefore hyped by mappa's revival of the series.
The show is simply unmatched with the way the fan base never died down despite the delay in seasons
I highly preferred WIT studios animation tho. But Mappa did great in the most recent episodes.
@@DavidSchleighwits animation style made aot so unique fr
@@DavidSchleigh yeah totally agree with you
@@donatobianco8226 Yes and it's why fan base deserve more and better quality.
I think this is more of a COVID effect than a "Mappa" effect. Its just the timing, everything was less popular before covid, with everyone staying home they had nothing to do. Then they found anime, and everything got WAY more recognition after 2020.
But then there's also Chainsaw Man, Hells Paradise post pandemic era successes
@@samarjeetbhonsle6000 The fact that it’s after the pandemic doesn’t mean it’s not affected. I’m saying anime in general has been unpopular, and since everyone had to stay home, there have been a lot more people introduced to it. Since anime is generally good and mappa sticks to animating already popular manga, it’s no surprise that it’s going to be popular, mappa is known for good animation so it just makes people more hype knowing that their favorite manga is getting a good adaptation. Hence the surge of popularity after 2020 started.
@@ModernSundew Most of the MAPPA's anime were kinda dogsht. The animation is basic af, unlike the OG Demon Slayer, the animation is smooth; the color palette/saturation are clear and bright and there are no weird-ass clunky CGs.

You know the hype yuri on ice had in 2016?! It was crazy like crazy crazy. It is an original anime but still sold like 60.000 units per dvd volume (the anime had 6 dvd volumes in total). Like most animes would be lucky to sell more than 5.000. So many non-anime fans started watching it, specially famous figure skaters (and their coaches) watched it.
In episode 4 it's assumed that Victor was using a chanel lip balm and within 48 hours the chanel lip balms were sold out in whole Japan. This is how crazy it was
@@foggyfrogy yeah MAPPA have a great marketing team in JP and their hype translates to western interest.
Jujustu kaisen made me fall in love with MAPPA. I think aot introduced me then the way they’ve been making JJK has just been incredible. Imo they chose a great ceo to take over he clearly cares about a quality successful business despite what all the news outlets say
yea still exploiting employees
I want AoT S4 Part 1 to be animated like Chainsaw Man and JuJutsu Kaisen S2, fluid movments, constant Character acting, great ost, animation that'll blend in with the background, sakuga/freelancing, great coloring, detailed background and impact frames, I just wish that mf Kodansha would have given Mappa enough time, imagine AoT getting the Chainsaw Man treatment 😩😩
I just saw the latest trailer and I'm gonna say one thing: I came
Delegating available resources is a factor too. I think Mappa was stuck between either priorotizing an emerging IP(JJK S1) or an established IP(AoT S4p1). If JJK S1 is done right, they are sitting on 10 years worth of potential income. Meanwhile if AoT S4p1 was done right, the show can only runs for 3 yeas at best. That is probably what the executives were thinking.
@@imaknaktamalesjjk1 succes is reason why they Made chainsawman from own pocket 😂😂😂
didnt aot s4 p1 get already released
Chainsaw man had alright animation
@@OfficialCryptivity”alright animation” Look, I get chainsaw man probably didn’t reach the expectations for many, but to say the animation was alright is just ridiculous. Just look at the details in the hair of each character, and the eyes as well. Not even JJK had that level of detail (besides the few shots of Gojo using his unlimited void)
I wouldn't really say the rise in popularity of animanga that they adapt is entirely due to the fact that they're handling the adaptation, brand recoginiton does help but not a whole lot, especially during 2020. AoT was popular before but it saw it's biggest boom during the pandemic, when most people decided to give anime a shot. Same for Jujutsu Kaisen. The fact that it had a strong team thus having great animation helped too. Oh yeah, I guess the same thing happened with Dorohedoro because if I remember correctly, it dropped internationally at he beginning of the pandemic?
Vinland Saga is an interesting case because back in 2019 when the anime aired no one outside of a few social circles was talking about it, I assume because it originally streamed only on Amazon Prime. Including manga fans it had a very niche fanbase until 2021 onwards when netflix dropped their english dub (in japan but circulated via rips) which I thin brought in more fans, then gained even more popularity in 2022 when it started streaming internationally on Netflix proper. That brought even more attention when Season 2 started airing which brought about the "no enemies" meme and that brought even more fans.
Basically, Manabu Otsuka just has a good eye for what's gonna be successful and that's why MAPPA picks up all the big projects. Also a lot of series tend to gain popularity with an anime adaptation. Just look at Tokyo Revengers. The adaptation is so unremarkable but it did numbers before and after it aired, so really it's not entirely a MAPPA thing.
I never even took the pandemic into account holy shit you’re right man, also it’s true the ceo of Mappa does have a talent with picking up mangas

Attributing mappa for vinland’s popularity is fair but not absolute. That arc is a masterpiece and Mappa gave it justice, the adaptation great. But I don’t doubt Wit would have done a phenomenal job if they were given a fair schedule as well.

Kinda reminds of the change between seasons 3 and 4 of haikyuu, but funny enough it was the same studio for both, different directors though. Guess these thing vary depending on many factors.

This edit was fantastic. Thank you!
First heard of MAPPA when I watched Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance) back in 2014. Mainly because the director was the one and only Watanabe Shinichiro. Ever since then I always kept an eye out for the studio. Glad they are as massive as they are now in less than a decade since I first watched that anime.
Great video man!
The ‚Farming Simulator‘ when referring to Vinland Saga season 2 is too damn hilarious! Great video!
Have to say great job on the video, see a lot of people appreciating your information and the animators, as they should. I'm glad to be a part of the croud the yt algorith threw at you this week. MAPPA has been doing a really good job. It's not confirmed yet, but they're rumored to be working on One Punch Man s3. If so, they really are the masters of hype right now
Hey just some critique. Please cut down on the random loud memes, they get obnoxious pretty fast. Also I don't get how Mappa is "Changing" anime based on your video. This is just a brief recap of anime they've made.. but then again it worked well with the algorithm so I understand lol. Mappa is love. It gave me my all time favs, i love the animators' animation style and respect them so much for their hardwork. Studio ghibli, Mappa, Comix Wave studio, Ufotable are some of the best ones out there. I love them

The thing that killed me how every snk fan object on the change, like the vibe Mappa gave was fitting so much with the tragical events we saw in season4, the touch of depression oh God it was so good
Great thumbnails, editing, and content. Some times there seemed to be TOO many things going on at once, but that’s not even a bad problem to have
Personally the memes and zoomer sound effects completely ruin the video for me.

Honestly, after KyoAni burned down (RIP to the victims :( ) I didn't expect to see another studio that would create such beautiful, stunning artistically developed anime so consistently like them. They're not quite on the same level yet, but they're damn close. The direction they took AOT is amazing. Their focus on lighting, camera work, etc. is really REALLY paying off. I love their CSM work as well. (They did make CSM, right?!) They're doing kind of what Euphoria was/is doing in America in terms of cinematography. That being said, I want them to have better life standards for their workers. They need a union or some shit because Japan is literally killing itself with its working conditions.
Ever since my exposure to Mappa, I begin to look at anime a bit critically. But I still find some time to enjoy them
