Absolutely fantastic. Well done, Manuel and team. You all have and practice the true spirit of ham radio, a hobby I have been very happy with and active in for over 50 years. Thank you!
Hello from Australia. My built radio purchased through an approved supplier arrived today! Thank you very much for building a radio at a price point that allows me to listen, attempt to establish contacts and learn about the hobby. VK3FSMB
You build it, like you designed it! Marvelous, beautiful indeed! My compliments Manuel. I can’t wait until my group buy team is ready. 73, Robbert, PA3AP.
Perfect!!! I bought a kit for high bands and classic bands, so I really only needed the RF board part of this video, and man, you made it look easy! So I now have the confidence to build the other two RF boards so that I can have all bands! Great work, and so glad that you took the time to walk us through this whole process, you thought of everything!!!
Working now, after correcting some mistakes (properly removing insulation from coils; mounting both 13-pin connectors correctly)! Looking forward to meeting you on the band(s). FB!
My old electronic teacher used to go crazy cutting pins after soldering, as it could cause shock/damage to the components. This video just brings back those memories, definitely interested in this project...
You sir are truly amazing, du bist sau clever ;-) I will make one of these soon, along with the rest of my radio club here in the uk. Thank you so much.
Put a dot of solder on that iron tip and those SMT caps will slide right off immediately. I learned long ago that component removal required substantially MORE solder than the assembly did.
Excellent ..... Try a small amount of double sided tape for the speaker and then a " donut" of medium density ( or whatever you have handy) foam around the speaker and microphone to improve the audio quality.
I'm currently building mine, started last night, and finished the main board. Only problem I had was the 2mm bolts & nuts for the oled, I changed the nuts for some I had in stock, they were fine.
The 2 smt devices on the backside of the Rf board are footprints for alternative RF MOSFETs. They can be placed INSTEAD BS170s but then filters need to be adjusted. Those footprints are for future applications only.
Hi, the pin header I have that connects the 2 boards are different than what you have in the video. I don’t have longer pins on one side compared to the other. I’ve tried moving the spacer with no luck. It won’t budge. Is this ok to solder in? Also, the break away pin headers for the OLED. Where are those? They don’t seem to be with the kit. Thanks for any help! Mark - W7MMG
I am assembling this kit now... my OLED does not have a U2 spot for the jumper do you know which spot to solder the wire? I was guessing O1 because it looks sort of like it...
Whatever on the OLED is connected to VCC Pin can be used instead of U2. But Watch out for the right display ! There are Versions where VCC and GMD are swapped ! 73 Manuel; DL2MAN
Thank you for taking time to respond. I am having fun building your kit. I took a photo of the OLED with the jumper it was Q1 to C6 if you would like I can send it to you in case anyone else is wondering.😀@@dl2man
22:15 Do you also have a list of the needed inductance values? I all manuals I only found how many turns but not how much µH What be nice to have and check with the LCR meter
Hi, Inductance Value is dependent of the frequency, you´re measuring it with.... So probably less accurate than the amount of windings. But if you look at the dl2man.de/2-trusdx-assembly/ page, you´ll find the theoretical values for 3xBS170 in the "alternative Bands" Section.
I would like to change the microphone that comes with the radio for something better, would you mind telling me what is the impedance of the mic, so I can try to get a better mic. The one constant comments I get on the qso's is that my sound is very low.
Hello Manuel, I am assembling a kits (tr) SDX. In the video you indicate that the transformers T1 and T2 are the same (P7 t. / S1 t.). In the specification sheet that came with the kits it indicates for T2 P 21turns /S 3 turns. ? Which one is correct? Thanks for your time.
You are absolutely right about his. In this Video: ruclips.net/video/hLCFsNNDZUg/видео.html I show more details, especially regarding the OLED Modification.
Hi, I'm JJ0TUC. I have assembled uSDX. However, I am having problems with "! V3.3=1V" and the screen does not proceed. the version of the PCB is JA2GQP with 74HC4053, Arduino NANO and the version of the firmware is 1.02w. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?

Hello all, First of all Kudos to DL2MAN and associates. now the real hurdle: I was able to buy 5 sets of PCB with some components on them. Currently I find it hard to source the following components: SI5351A-B-GT TCA9555PWR IRLML2060TRPBF any equivalent is well received for SI5351A-B-GT the back order is around 02.2023! which is kind of disappointing
Why didn´t you follow my advise on my page and have the MS5351 places instead by JLC-PCB ? Si5351 is out for almost half a year now, and you can only buy MS5351 from China or buy Si5451 evaluation Boards and try to unsolder them.... TCA9555 can be substituted by PCA9555 or CAT9555YI and IRLML2060 is not needed on the (tr)uSDX. Please read my instructions and ask in my forum if something is not clear: forum.dl2man.de

Really nice…
Great kit! Only bummer is that it doesn't come with the extra header pins for the oled.
fantastic. I seem to have blown an/the output transistors, are they still using the bs170s?
Low Bands Version uses 3xBS170, Classical and High Bands using 1x FDT86256. All documented on dl2man.de
Awesome! Why did you disabled the internal charge pump of the oled?
Because it created audible noise. OLEDs are very noisy, and this is the way to get around that.
There is also x2 smd devices to do on reverse of rf board right? Hope so, I just bought 50 of them!
