Watched this play through 4 times now and it has helped me consolidate my understanding of the rules. I had trouble with the "going for the alarm" rules and how to place the reactionary soldiers as well as their movement. Your enthusiasm and time to do these videos are greatly appreciated.
15:12 you needed the unaware tokens on him. You only roll for attacks normally if the targeting counters dictate it, as far as I know. You might have wasted that auto 10 attack card since you might have drawn an auto EKIA token first.
"If the Hostile is at Unaware or Pauses status, draw an Unaware Target counter from the cup for each Attack. After you have drawn the Unaware Target counter, you may choose to proceed with the Attack, or not Attack. If you choose not to Attack, the Action remains paid for and is wasted." Also, if you draw an EKIA token and used burst, you do get 3 kills, paying appropriate noise cost. You're only limited to one attack per roll if you actually roll the dice.
First of all: Great Job! I like how you explain things and how you handle errors. It was fun watching your playthrough. You did one thing, that also happens to me: you play too fast in the end. That’s why you did errors. You know all the rules, and you got the entrance cost error for extraction, but you missed the cost for entering the mission card. Besides that: ❤️❤️❤️ I would love to see more Warfighter content from your side! Gereon
Thanks for the kind words, Gereon! Yeah I absolutely feel myself start to pick up speed deeper into a game and that’s usually when the rules errors start to happen 😬. I definitely plan to have some more Warfighter in the future. Hoping to get my hands on Warfighter Fantasy!
Per page 32 of the rules: Move "Each soldier can only move once during each soldier turn." Also, you have to use attack cards during the declare attack step. You can't use steady aim after you fire the weapon. 35:30 Maybe only be revealed at range 3 36:01 I'm going to reveal this card? Surprised you messed this up just 30 seconds later. I also think you are doing the entrance cost wrong. There is a physical entrance cost and then there is a night time entrance cost. An Advance card only negates they physical aspects of the entrance, not the darkness. If you want to negate that, you need to use your ENVG or use a card to negate it. That is why the two entrance values are listed seperately.
It didn't matter at the end but reaction forces close range like they do in modern daytime warfighter. So the first one that revealed should have moved once to the left during that hostile turn.
Thanks for all your notes, Travis! These are super helpful. When I get a few minutes I'm going to add them to the top of the video description. Thanks for watching!
Awesome. I felt bad, I wasn't trying to pile on! I was just trying to clarify some things I've learned. This game is so complicated but super fun once it clicks.
No please don’t feel bad! I genuinely appreciate rules corrections in the comments. Helps me improve my off camera play and also if I end up making an instructional video it helps reduce some of my research time for scripting the video.
I think you played the Stealth Kill card correct as far as timing, but I believe you still would draw for the unaware target because there would still be a chance you get a ‘no shot.’
After a few re-reads and a little research I'm pretty positive an unaware target token is always the first thing you need to do when attacking an unaware target. But I agree the wording leaves some room for interpretation just based off the RAW if you don't spend the time to research it. Thanks for the comment, Jason!
Excellent question! After you asked it I double checked bc it made me second guess myself. But yes they do. They are essentially considered action cards that are found in a different deck. This was clarified over on BGG in this forum post boardgamegeek.com/thread/2073882/article/30195918#30195918

Why u dont discard card for Covert effect and where are ur 2 cards from CX 2?
Starting to watch now. Btw, anyone ever told you that you look like Tony Romo?
Haha that’s the first I’ve heard it but I’m good with it!

In the start, you have an oversight, "unaware" on the hostile
Yeah fortunately it didn’t affect anything in the end. About halfway through the video I remember to put those tokens on the hostiles.

Do location cards count against your hand limit?

@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline Cool that means you can discard them too. Thanks for answering the question.
