I am so happy I came across this channel so much informative information. We are getting married at the Montego Bay location but we will be visiting as many locations as possible during our 7 day stay.
The” Fireman” is right next door down the beach and he has some of the best lobsters and crabs on the island. I had the seafood sweats after my meal there. I think that you got him walking down the beach, the guy with the straw hat.
What dates did you attend this resort? You mention hurricane season so I assume summer early fall. You should note the exact dates in your videos so people know the conditions of the beach (sargassum) for that time of year. Thanks. Love the vids
I found your video while looking for a different Sandals option for our next trip (we typically book Ochi for the size and activity but I am tired of the 2 hour drive from the airport and would like a larger/nicer beach). At Ochi, we have never had a problem with leaving belongings out at the beach sine it's private. Is that ever a concern here? Or a safety concern since others walk through/use the beach?
I've spent a week staying at Montego Bay and I've also spent a week at Negril. I also got married at the Negril location. I personally prefer the Negril location, and that's not just because I got married there. I think it's more well rounded, I prefer the layout and vibe and so much more. Montego Bay is definitely fun but it's a lot more busy and more of a party/good time oriented vibe which is good of that's what you want. But Negril also has options for fun and having a good time while also being less busy as a whole. And don't forget you can always visit any other Sandals resort for free if you just want to hop around. There are also multiple excursions outside of the resorts. I'd recommend going to Mayfield Falls and Cliff jumping at Rick's Cafe is fun too.
Oh and regarding the beaches. Both are pretty but I preferred Negrils Beach. It has more character and better view and sunsets. Montego bay also has a much more populated beach. Oh and regarding her saying outsiders could just walk onto the beach at Negril. I don't remember that being the case when I was there, unless something has changed recently. I believe the distinction was Montego Bay had a guard to enforce it, but Negril didn't have a guard but because of location it's not as much of a problem and regardless, they aren't allowed on the property. In a week at Negril I didn't see a single outsider on the beach. In Montego Bay a man came up to me on a canoe asking if I wanted weed, coke, or pills. Haha
would NEVER go back to Negril.. Its a complete SHITHOLE trainwreck outside the resort.. You are only there for the Hotel. NOTHING else to see. So much crime and EXTREME poverty. Avoid this falling apart 2005 resort

We didn’t have an issue. There are security guards and we would just put our cell phones under our towels if we stepped away.
I’m really trying to decide between Negril and Montego Bay? The beach is essential/ bc I spend most of my days there - is Montego bays beach pretty?
