He finally did it 3 yrs later😂
So far, this series hasn't had a "No. It will not rally." I can't wait for that episode lol
1986 Ford Fiesta. It will not rally.
Reliant Robin 😂
@@RotchildFrancoisJr You win, period. 😆
Everything will rally if you're brave enough! :D
U-Haul 18' Cube truck. Plus it'll only cost them $29.98 to make the video!
Wyatt Knox: the dirt stig.
A future episode trailer: "can a lawn mower rally?"
Wyatt at the end of that episode: "yes, it can!"
I am a WRC driving coach, and I use a Polaris RZR 1000 XP as my coaching tool. This because it moves so similar on its dampers like a R5 (Rally 2), or WRC (Rally 1) car.
One thing I off course pay special attention to is of course rotating under braking, and it doesn't roll over - as that is essential. I think you should have run it in 4WD :)
But to make sure, stiffer anti roll bar on the rear, and a spring kit, and square tired like Maxxis Carnivores, then it doesn't only move like a rally car, but as a rally car :)
Love your content! Keep them coming :)
I'm late to this, but with the mods you mentioned (anti roll bar and stiffer springs with squarer tyres) the maverick x3 will also behave like a rally car? I.e. you can now rotate it before the apex in 4wd mode?
@@Coyote.five.0 thanks for those thoughts! They are certainly different, but at the end of the day, they both have 4 wheels and an engine. There are definitely things that can be learnt from one to the other
@@Coyote.five.0 I have been a rally coach since 2011, have worked with all level of drivers, including in the World Rally Championship full time for drivers Hayden Paddon and Mads Østberg, and the UTV is my most important training tool.
Don't you think it would be smarter to ask how a UTV should be used correctly for training, rather than rejecting to see a different perspective than your own?
Just curious 🤔
Would love to see an updated video of the new maverick R that just came out. With the wild suspension geometry, it’s keeping the machines much flatter through the corners. These vids are awesome. Keep watching them just to hear the feedback as you’re driving the car
This is almost an ad for CAN-AM. What a thing they've made haha
It would be fantastic to see him run this time against a turbo rr. An extra 20hp makes a massive difference at that weight
In my town in Alaska, they race these on the frozen lake during the winter. Part of that lake is right behind the store where I work. When the I3s are screaming it sounds like the racing V6es of yore... kind of nice, actually, to be greeted by the sound of Le Mans on ice every time I leave to get lunch.
Le mans on ice sounds like a musical I would go to
Nice to see another Alaskan on here. Hopefully we get some actual snow this year
These 900cc turbo triples sound like ass with a cvt...
@@BlueWhaleBlues - I love Alaska - sadly will be leaving the state soon due to wife's medical needs.
One of my favorite series on RUclips. Thanks for bringing it back!
I think there are wider options from can am. Also these are basically coilovers so you could lower it. Rotating these things under braking is too much fun
So glad these are back!!!
Great seeing you back!
Glad y’all are back!
so awesome that you guys tried the canam, we race them a lot in the national rally championship at Ecuador, they are very capable little beasts!
Awesome ! Good to see you back Wyatt . Keep the great content coming .
I would love to see how a Crown Vic would perform
We have a handful of Crown Vics here, but they have very heavy steel bumpers front and rear for teaching PIT maneuvers and pursuit/counterpursuit techniques... Which is fun but with the bumpers they're quite a bit heavier and bouncier than stock. The next time we purchase a new one I'll do a WIR episode for sure!
@@Teamoneilrally can’t wait
Y'all put out really really excellent content! Thanks!
This one was wild because the speedo is so easy to read, it was fun to see how much speed you were carrying.
What an excellent display of knowledge and driving ability. This is the dream
You have no idea how stoked I am for new episodes of this
That was really exciting for sure!
Favorite series
Imagine if you went with the RS instead of the DS. Ds is 64” wide 172 hp.... RS 72” wide 196 hp...
You can get a 172hp RS... it doesn't come with the 2.5/3.0 bypass shocks nor the adjustable front diff.
I was legit just thinking today that you guys should make a video using A SxS. I found your channel while researching suspension tuning for my SxS, and you have made the best most user friendly video describing how/why (Thanks for that BTW). Hope to see more SxS content on here, and think it would do well for your channel and maybe school.
Had one of these types of buggys, and your comment of not alot of steering angle is 100% true. The one i owned struggled to turn tight corners so you got into the habbit of letting the rear kick out around corners otherwise you would run out of road. It was great fun to drive, you just looked nuts constantly kicking out the rear.
Yeah the tight trails you almost have to stay in 2WD and use the throttle, otherwise you're doing 3 point turns
Looks like a ton of fun
In the UK they are used in comp safaris and perform really well
Hi, thanks for the great content. Watching this video I was thinking, are you planning to make a video about what happens if things don't go according to plan like, "you crash" scenario. My point being that sooner or later this happens in one form or another regardless is it on a race track, rally track, off-roading or in daily situations. I think it will be super beneficial if you guys can give us some advice especially for novice racing enthusiasts.
love this!
That was awesome
I want to see this one done in the snow... curious what the time will be
“And that’s how easy that would be to flip over”
*nervous laughter*
😂
Need to try a maverick r
Would love to see a 2017 or later Honda Ridgeline the SH-AWD system seems to be excellent.
He needs to hit the track with an 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen 🔥💯
Odd suggestion. Will it Rally? 2nd gen Ford Transit Connect LWB or SWB
Exciting to see this machine rip on the track. Would really like to see you drive a YXZ1000 next, very close to a rally car.
Yes
I gotta ask where you are ripping at because it's absolutely beautiful out there. Great video as well!
Can you guys try a 8th gen 4 door Honda Civic, mine rally's pretty good! Think yall would like it.
This goes a lot harder then a rally car. Doing over 80 to 100 miles an hour on whoops is a different breed
I was gonna say can it rally? This is better
So, when's Yamaha YXZ?
I really wish to see some new street cars in Will it Rally. For example Subaru Crosstrek 2.5L vs. Mazda CX-30 2.5L. The cars have very similar specs and it would be fun to see them competing to each other on a rally track. Though it will not be as fast as WRC.
The Yamaha would be the only choice for a rally sort of discipline in a utv. Sequential transmission, naturally aspirated, much much lower C.O.G., and its a Yamaha so its already badass.
Nice save right at the beginning Wyatt!!!!! You cannot fake that👍👍👍✊. Those things are super cool but they’re definitely roll-monkeys😂
Oh, and...your map of the track look like Florida but you’re weather is definitely NOT!
What tire size do you guys would think would work best? I was planning to either do a 225/55r17 or a 215/65r16 ish (I’m pretty flexible with changing it a bit) sizes. I have two sets of wheels. I have the feeling the 17” would offer better side wall control as the 16” would have a very large sidewall and loose some of the tighter handling that a car offers over an suv. I currently run 215/55r16 but they are very small in the fender wells.
I think on the maverick we can adjust the height of the shock absorbers as well.. there is a key for it. So if it's lower then there are less chances of it to flip.. my question is if we do rally with this then which class does it go to? Jeep class? Or any other class... And also can the 4 doors maverick can rally too?
I wonder how quickly an adventure bike can do that loop. It definitely can rally but the question is just how well.
We could put a big KTM out there and see what happens, Wyatt wouldn't be very quick but we have a few guys here that can ride FAST
Try the canam maverick x3 rr 195 hp
You gotta do another in 4WD!
Wonder if you will ever get one of the fiesta race cars to do this
Or some pro 4wd
Or Wrc cars?
Would love the x3 max
If you liked the the ds 64 wide, you would love the rs 72 wide....
@Tony Ponce no it’s not
@Tony Ponce read the title of the video?
Well I want one !
I wish they had a spec class for sxss
Would love to see a Genesis Coupe rally
Turbo side by sides are the most fun you can have on 4 wheels, but thats just my opinion and I've never driven a rally car
Took me a while to figure out who you sounded like... Josh Wolf the comedian 😆
those are really cool- too bad you aren't allowed to drive them anywhere around here
If you ran the suspension softer would that help with rollover or the time on the course?
No, it would roll over easier... And time would suffer.
But will it blend?
Any chance of doing this in a Yamaha yxz1000r for a comparison?
YXZ1000R with the sequential would be even more fun.
Do a equivalent to the Turbo R Can-Am vs a RZR Turbo S
It’s not a question of if it will roll over but when
I wanna see a harley road commode on this bud... yardsale city
My dad has this same canam, it is crazy loud to ride in. Of course he has drilled out the cat.
Put a pool noodle in the clutch intake behind your head
should have tested the XRS 72" version.
I've had my 2020 Maverick X3 XRS Turbo RR since last September. By far the most fun vehicle I've ever operated! She jumps, she drifts, she muds, she crawls and she shreds! Such an impressive machine, guaranteed to put a smile on your face and make your passenger need an underwear change!!
What type of helmet do you recommend for this ATV / terrain ?
Any DOT rated motorcycle helmet is fine as long as you have good eye protection too, this is a motocross helmet with goggles but you could do a full face helmet too if you wanted extra protection
Does anyone have any idea of how a can am maverick sport max 1000r would rally?
I’m gonna go ahead and say fuck yeah it can rally before I watch this video.
Will it rally? Well it does the baja, KoTH, various other races... so I'd say it's a no brainer.
Lets see a dirt bike or adventure touring bike or even a scrambler run this course. something that you might see at NASA rally moto. Something 2 wheels to compare to all these 4 wheel vehicles. more data and more variety of power to weight vs road contact patch.
You guys seem to have only two seasons: winter and autumn.
And summer where it's too busy here to do much filming at all
The green key limits power
Do a cheaper sand rail plz
Nutty
Of course it can it’s easily a race machine
Is this the best bang for buck rally type vehicle?
Well yeah theyre 30k. So its no clapped out 2200 wrx
Can't use them in stage rallies in North America because they aren't street legal.
Try Cotroën C3 Cactus!
If you're going to rally a UTV, get the 72 inch wide version.
I'm actually surprised this thing is as good as it is. With these ridiculous razer blade ninja 5000 super turbo xxx things that off-road manufacturers put out, I've always felt they were form over function, I'm sure some are, but I guess this thing is really well made.
The next sxs you guys should do it the Yamaha yxz 1000r
Scott Keiser I got a 2020 this summer, and found this channel when researching suspension tuning. Best instruction I’ve found on the subject, and made a world of difference on how much I like my YXZ now.
@@given0fox968 I’m a broke high schooler with hopes and dreams lol. So I don’t have a sxs yet. But if I do one day get one, it’ll be a yxz. I like the fact that they have a sequential transmission. And they looks cool. How does it ride?
Scott Keiser I’ve had a SxS since 2013 when I got my 13 RZR 900 XP, and it is still awesome, rides well, and keeps up with my YXZ. The YXZ suspension isn’t great (Shock Therapy says it’s a geometry issue), so I wouldn’t say the ‘ride’ is superior or great, but the YXZ excels in driver engagement. I have the sport shift, and would recommend it over the 3 peddle. Check out Donald Writesel RUclips channel for some great YXZ driving content - their channel should be bigger, so help me blow it up.
@@given0fox968 thanks for the info, and will do
He needs to do this in something nuts like a Lamborghini
It's not that narrow. Like 6" narrower than a standard car. Just feels like it because the wheels stick out and the cabin is small.
do a honda fit
You were on the green key... basically, way less power!
Nice little off-roader... but I’ll take an Ariel Nomad. Same weight, but 235bhp.
Starting at $80,000. For an extra 40 hp? I'll take the $55,000 left over and buy a new truck.
Evolution powersports makes an E85 tune that has 235 hp for these things for less than $1500. A lot of these things can have significantly higher power with a few Bolt on parts!
The yamaha yxz would probably do well at this.
How much does one of those cost?
This model starts at $21k
Why run it with the green key and not the grey? Grey is 100% power.
Depends on how the dealer sets it up. My green key is the 100% power
This one the green key is the performance key
Baja portalegre is full of this things
Thank you for calling it a side by side and not an ATV.
I wonder if Wyatt knows just how terrible the stock cages are on these things?
Now try the white key, instead of the limiting green key
You think that’s fast put my 2021 XRS Max RRS with 195 plus hp and smart Shox 👍❤️
I can’t think of something you can’t rally
So... not a legal cage in any racing form. You mention rollover risk.... So it's great for rally and RallyCross.... interesting.
The folks who race them weld in competition legal cages.
@@Teamoneilrally while I certainly hope so for stage rally. For RallyCross we are not seeing that requirement. Note that these side-by-sides are prone to rollover and as manufactured, do not have SCCA legal rollover protection.
Gen 5 4Runner
should have got the one with a wider wheel base. the 64inch is not a good corner car or stable. 72 one is much much better
Now get an rs with a shock therapy front and rear swaybars
