- MOPA Fiber Laser - Glass Drilling
JPT M8 series laser adopts MOPA (Main Oscillation Power Amplification) structure, which can support independent adjustment of pulse width and pulse repetition rate. The M8 series optimizes the pulse peak power and beam quality on the basis of maintaining the performance of the original series. It can maintain excellent beam quality under high-power working conditions, and the maximum peak power is greater than 50 kW. It is especially suitable for glass drilling and other applications that have high requirements on peak power and brightness.

Very interested in this system for glass drilling…
Is this 1064nm? Nearly nanosecond pulses? Do you need a 3D scan head for it?
Nice, sign me up, I'll get one when it's released
probably they have gavlo head but not sure hwo they cut glass with 1064 nm
I used to manufacture a part made of 0.250" thick glass that required drilling 141 x 0.0625" diameter holes and 3 x 0.089" diameter holes. Even with a CNC machine with a very fast Z axis this process took more than 90 minutes. Any mistake in loading or a failure to keep coolant flowing on the glass and cutting tool would cause the glass to break. It was very difficult to train machine operators to run this and other very technical parts.
it depends on the operators in question.
some people pick up on things or have the feel for it naturally. and others need a litteral jackhammer to hammer any kind of knowledge in.
@@darkracer1252 You are correct. Some people are easy to train while it is impossible to train others no matter how much effort you put into it.
Sadly, it is nearly impossible to fire the worthless untrainable employees in a union environment.

honestly i think it would be better if we weren't on an hourly rate. but simply paid on commission or something.
that way it pays off to do good and work hard. rather then just running out the clock looking like you're working hard.
@@darkracer1252 I've written shop floor control applications for companies where employees are paid based on performance. The employees make far better total pay, and the companies generate greater income per employee. The profit rate may not be any better, but the total net profit is greater.
SUGOI!!!🥸
What is the difference in terms of specs of the M8 vs the M7 series lasers? Is it doable also with a MOPA M7 100W? if not, why?
The M8 series optimizes the pulse peak power and beam quality based on maintaining the performance of the original series. It is especially suitable for glass drilling and other applications that have
high requirements on peak power and brightness.
I think 60w or better you have a really good chance of finding the right Q-pules, Fre, SP, and Power of accomplishing the result you want. The color of the material plays a big role in light or energy absorbed. That is huge and clear glass is a tough one.
I didn't know a MOPA could do this. I'm looking to get a UV laser. Would a Mopa be able to engrave glass? Or is a UV still the best choice for engraving glass and plastics?
UV is still a good choice for engraving glass.
M8 has good performance in drilling.
If engraving is too difficult, how do you cut it?
can this laser cut quartz and copper?
Can it cut through tempered glass without shattering?
Afraid not
Settings ezcad please
This is cool!
is posible with mopa M7 60w?
Did you ever find this out?
No sorry @@scifactorial5802
I didn’t find anything about the M8 on the site.
