I have to disagree, his movements are quick and he looks big in the crease. He also has great hands and great side to side technique. Only a 2 game sample in the nhl now, and he looks poised and makes good decisions. Want to see him go through some adversity testing his mental before judgment on his nhl level play but the only goal he led in so far was a no chance
I would say his movements looking quick are more from how he positions himself in the net and where he chooses to move rather than raw speed and explosiveness. He’s definitely not slow but everyone at the NHL level has some degree of quickness. So to be truly a quick and explosive goalie, you have to standout above the rest in the NHL which I don’t think he does in that regard.
I’m an avs fan, although an argument could be made that the officiating cost the avs that game, he definitely was the reason they beat us, gotta give him props. I bet he has a good career ahead of him.
