  • To cry is human, but to lament is Christian. Sadly, many Christians are not familiar with this biblical and historic prayer language. When grief and sadness strike, believers need to know how to talk to God about their sorrow. Lament is a prayer in pain that leads to trust, and there is grace available to those who learn how to pray their way through pain.

I never really understood lamenting until this message. For years i have gone into a deep prayer not only for myself but others where i begin praying that turns into a wailing that goes on until im free of the pain or the pain leaves my body. Others didnt understand what i was doing and looked at me strangely. But i had no control when i would feel not only my pain but the pain of someone going through. I now understand what it is now. Thank you for this revelation.

Thank you for sharing! My counselor and I have been discussing the past few months how I am sensing being in a season of lament. Vroegop's articulation has put into words what God has been guiding me through. Feeling deeply encouraged!
