Ok so I just finished this painting and it looks awesome from my perspective 😀.. After reading all the comments I got some idea of what kind of color I need.. Searched on Amazon and bought "liquitex professional heavy body classic beginner set"and same brand titanium white cause I knew I'll be needing lots of white.. Not the same mustardy background look but still it's looking beautiful.. Thank you so much for sharing.. This is my 1st painting and I'm so happy... Don't know how much time you took to complete painting but it took me 5½ hrs ..I wish I could show you mine
i have tried last night with LIquitex. The texture seems too soft cannot build the shape. Did I miss out something like mediums? The whole canvas is gone with the bad paint .. not sure if I can still continue using it by layering up.
@@annie8772 Liquitex HEAVY BODY acrylic would be great for the background (definitely not basics, they would self level and not create the texture) The white flowers in this work are done with the 3D medium shown at the beginning. You could use a Heavy Gel, or Stucco, or modeling medium. Lots of options- but yes for something that thick you would want medium or it's just a waste of paint(in my opinion) you can mix paint with it or paint over top of the medium for color added.
@@unashamedaccompanist , Thank you for your advice. I did use Heavy Body Acrylic from Liquitex. I will try thicken the Liquitex with some medium. Then layer up from the original bad painting. Hopefully can see some results.

I had to really practice how much paint to use to gett it right...but perceverance and determination got me through it...but I have to turn my canvas to get them facing properly. You do this so well, and you make it look easy but what a lot of work. Thanks for the teaching.I'm getting there,! I am using a 12" X 16-inch canvas and number 3 palette..Could you tell me what you are using Please..? And when I do make my flower petals...not all turn out very good but I need to practice a lot more.
