That was an exceptional gift of the voice, Longomba had. Lovy had a very clear, sweet & àppealling voice irresistible for one to listen to. Other than Orch. Super Mazembe, I could easily detect it in Orchestra Shika Shikka. Thanks very much to his wonderful contribution. May his soul rest in peace.
This was the climax and sunset of Super Mazembe .Indeed, every group member was a star. Vocals: Lovy Longomba, Kasongo wa Kanema; Lead Guitar, Bukassa wa Bukassa(Bukalos); Rythim Guitar, Loboko Pasi, Songoley, Rapok Kayembe; Bass Guitar, Atia Jo; Trampets, Lobe Namapako; Drummer, Dodo Doris. Unfortunately, most members are dead. Only one star is still alive-Loboko Pasi
Very very sorry indeed for most of the stars of that group to have died. It's so grieving& hurtful! May their souls rest in eternal peace. Bros & sis' I don't know what to say but those guys were too good
Thanks a lot for including this No. " Ouma" I had just become a fun yet not independent by the time I completed school it was nowhere to be seen. Thank u so much for satisfying & cooling my heart. God bless you.
In my youth, I used to sneak to go to Super Mazembe performing in ASK in Nakuru every year. Among the giants in East Africa not forgetting the Mangelepa
This is really super! Vocals: Lovy longomba and Kasongo wa Kanema. Lead guitar: Bukalos, Rhythm guitar: Loboko and Bass guiter: Atia Jo. Indeed, these were the Giants of East Africa. This kind of music was palyed ten years prior to the eruption of Kwasa Kwasa by Kanda Bongoman and others. If this music was composed and played in late 80s or early 90s, they could be the Giants of Africa,or rather the World. The music recording technology could favour them. And the story could be different, so far. This was the climax of the soukous genre KAVASHA
oooh my good old memories....use to litsen this when i was young in primary.. my dad chasing me out coz of noise...i now litsen to it always reminding of those years. very nice song.....Atiajo and the rest....lovy.....
Reminds me of the the days in High school at Shimo-la-Tewa Mombasa in form one 1981.Two guys in form four one a fun of Mangelepa and the other of Mazembe used to argue in support of their respective groups a third a heckler.Mumali Baraza,Bobson Mwasaha and Alex Mbaru. Those days were good and full of peace and fun.
Mobutu Seseseko tried to put heavy taxes on them and they left for Kenya for stay and still released hit after another. Rest easy Dally Kimoko. With Love RSA
The best production by Orchestra Super Mazembe in praise of Ouma from Gem Yala. One of my favourites anytime. Was a primary school boy in Kisumu when the song was done. Coincidentally I come from Gem. Enjoy in 2019...
ouma was a big shock even and the mazembe , and they could not produce any other song like ouma ,and it also gave them a name this was really good misic.
Only two members of the original super mazembe crew are alive today, kasongo wa kanema and loboko pasi. How I wish God returns us back to those days and begin afresh!!!
yap,,that fanatism was always there,,,but when lovy left and mazembe came up with mushosho.....lovys absence was less felt.....quite some talented lot..
@@dominicmwaniki1303 Probably differed with Franco. Interestingly enough before his first departure, he was the leader of OK jazz. When he came back, it was Franco..
