Great demo. But I am still a bit puzzled about the keys. Are they really that great ? Reading very different opinions. I finally thaught here is the Kronos for me.. 88 light weighted keys.. but... are they good to play ? (hardly any local stores have these in stock and will only take them home on a purchase). Also very confusing info about the keys .. are these keys with aftertouch or not ? if not its a no go for me .. And why would they make a keyboard with light weighted keys without aftertouch ... makes no sense at all. People that want lightweighted keys are most often those of us that arent top trained in the extra force needed to play a full Weighted keyboard, and playing fast synth parts with aftertouch on eg the 76 keys Kronos 2 can be hard. Can anyone elaborate on if these keys have aftertouch or not ?
I plugged in a sustain pedal last night and played my Kronos 88 for 8 hours--the response and the string resonance was that inspiring. I just kept improving and playing some of my favorite favorite composers. Kronos pianos are inspirational.

The Korg Kronos is STILL king, i had this synth now for over 2 years, and have barely touched the surface of what it can do. I just bought these new sounds, orchestral/choir, and it's like i bought a brand new 2018 synth for $10,000, wow! I just learned how to use the sequencer on the kronos, let me tell you, this is one monster sequencer, it's awesome! I play classical, and a lot of Bach, my fingers just don't move like I want (I'm getting old!), but the sequencer has no speed limit and doesn't play bum notes (unless you program it to!). Plus, how many of you out there wish you had 16 hands? The Kronos sequencer has at least that many, and they move at lightening speed. The sequencer is amazing, I'm just blown away at what it can do. I'm shocked Korg never demo's it, the potential to create full band/orchestral music is right there inside the Kronos waiting to happen! :)

Dirk Hofman it's not a synthesizer, it's a workstation, you should know this as long as you pay for it. More precisely, it' s a computer with an ancient atom processor which runs some good software sound engines and samples...nothing more, nothing less.
I have to ask you say lots of "famous songs sounds". Does it have the DynoPiano from the early 90s that the Korg O/1 W had back in the day. That is an amazing sound that I have not heard in any keys on the market today
Do you recall what sounds where used in your piano demos, mostly the David Foster piano. I have nowhere near you chops brother but when I dig into the board it doesn't have that tone at all. My LS sounds so brittle and this is through both the headphones and through the PA. Any guidance is appreciated.

Why do they hide drum patterns? Why are they so downplayed? BEATS matter. I sit & sit & sit...trying to locate the drum pattern list. I find it, now & then & can't find my way back. Drum patterns (BEATS) - should be given some room - I can't find them in the HELP menu even! What's up with that? Some people who buy the Kronos like the option to perform solo sometimes. You have a drum track. Do you think the pattern you've assigned arbitrarily is more often than not the one that the user will prefer out of SO many options? Thanks for listening! Help, Anybody?
Love my Kronos, only thing that lets it down is the selection wheel. It’s cheap, little wobbly with no feeling or notchiness. Try to turn one notch and it skips two e.t.c. Real let down as all other buttons and knobs are fine.

So it's basically still the same intrument Korg introduced in 2011 with the latest software version and a new housing? Kronos was great back in 2011 (except for the poor hardware quality, cheap modifiers and the severe problems with the early RH3 keybed), but after 8 years I think it's time for something new. So please, come up with something new that gives me that "must buy now" impulse like the Kronos did back in 2011. How about a new flagship with an open operating system with VST support that allows me to install / run my own plugins in addition to the existing ones? And please use decent hardware this time. It's a shame to use cheap knobs / sliders / wheels on a premium product. I will happily spend a few hundret bucks more for a piece of gear which will last many years of daily use. Oh, and while you're at it, this time please don't use that cheap Atom CPU. At least put a decent ULV CPU into your workstation.

It has been indistinguishable from all models for 20 years. All these sounds could be extracted on synthesizers 15 years ago. Show me why people should pay such money really. If it's not really superseded by a better / more powerful workstation, you can't really say that it's "outdated". What synth workstation do you know that far outdoes this one?

Uhm, not a synthesizer ? Yeah right it has LFO,s VCO,s EG,s effects, and lots lots lots more who i can combine with eachother, i can synthesize these.
Dirk Hofman it's all software, you can do the same (and probably something better) with a normal computer and a good master keyboard...
Agreed, it's called Omnisphere. However when you use Karma with the Kronos, it does enter a different dimension.

Awesome presenter for an outdated synth.
They've "unveiled" it at NAMM already, and it's still outdated and the performer is still awesome. Your point, however, eludes me.
