Hi glade you like the steam launch,
the kettle is a "windermere kettle," , the spiral is a small dia copper tube pipe up to the blow down valve on the boiler, so , when turned on, hot steam/ water "flash steam" rushers through the pipe to boil the water in side the kettle.the "flash steam/ water goes out into the pond, distiled water is used so no cotaminates enter the pond water.

great video, and a very classy steam launch. I haven't seen a kettle used like that before, why is there a spiral of tube inside?

nice boat man, but why didn't you build in the engine (the cylinders mainly) on an angle? like this you'd lose a bit of energie to friction during it's running time. and what source of fuel for powering it did you use?
