      SimderZ check out Coco Bella, her beginner tutorial taught me :)

    • @Vildmis
      @Vildmis 8 лет назад +7

      Coco Bella uses UK and not US terms, Bobwilson123 is great...Start with the basics, 1.learn to make a slip knot, 2, make a chain, 3, grit stich (single crochet), from there u can learn, half double, double, triple crochet, after u master that, u can go for front loop/back loop, front post and back post - i taught myself like that ;)

    • @DH-qz2so
      @DH-qz2so 6 лет назад +1

      Wooley Wonders on youtube is good too, also UK but she doesn't go too fast.

    • @Pitoonya
      @Pitoonya 6 лет назад +6

      Catherine, It's Bella Coco, (not Coco Bella-lol) and she most certainly does use U.S terms as well. She will say, for instance, "We are now going to do a Treble crochet, now that is a UK term; in the U.S. this is known as a double crochet." If you give her a chance and watch like 3 of her videos, you will get to know her style...I'm a newbie and have no trouble with her accent or her terminology. She has an Absolute Beginner Series that teaches you how to crochet right from the very beginning. She teaches evert stitch you mentioned and much more, also has a blog, her own store and creates her own crochet designs. Also, Jayda in Stitches is very good. She's always smiling while she explains things...has a very upbeat personality whereas some Teachers doing tutorials just talk in monotone...no personality at all. Also, some of the teachers talk too fast, I know we can go back in the video and listen, but talking too fast is just down right annoying to me. Like Mikey from I think its red heart yarns or yarnsperations? (is that part of red heart?) anyway, he's good, but talks to fast for me and I can't understand him bc he has a bit of a lisp - (I know he can't help it) and that on top of talking too fast...I just cant watch him.

    I love these simple little scrubbies. I like how you can make them smaller for little faces or bigger and make into a wash cloth. I like a crochet across the back of them making a little handle, which is great for in the shower or for holding onto while trying to give wiggly little ones a bath. ;)

      Don't give up! Once you "get it" it will be super easy. Try other beginniner videos until you find a teacher you click with. The thing that helped me most in the beginning was finding a project I really, really wanted to make which helped me keep going through the frustration. Also, use a bigger hook (size J) and light colored acrylic yarn (yellow, red heart super saver from Wal-Mart as an example) so you can see your stitches easily. Much luck!!!😊

    • @julies5515
      @julies5515 4 года назад

      Start with single crochet. I wouldn't recommend starting with this. I started with single, half double, and double crochet until you are comfortable with them. Make dishcloths that is a great way to practice. It took me several attempts at crocheting until it clicked for me. You can make a lot with just single and half double crochet. This is a little advanced. Don't give up their are great videos out there to follow.

      I don't know if you still need this but I experimented and if you want to go one row more then its 2hdc in one hole and then 3 consecutive single hdc and repeat. I experienced a little curling by adding 2 additional rows to the one in the video but it could just be too tight😅

    Question. So, the first round increase is 8. Second round double which is 2 in each stitch,,,, now for the rest of the rounds we do 1 stitch 2 stitch in each stitch. So our increases are not doubled but only 1/3 increases? So, 8, 16, not 32 but 24 stitches 1/3 rd increases for the rest of the project. Is that right? Please explain i am new to this

    Okay so always ignore the chain you slip stitched into and start on the chain next to it? I've been watching amigurumi videos and they're slightly intimidating and confusing. If it says 9 sc then increase 18 sc then decrease 9 sc would I do every other sc from the 18 sc round?

    I may have to try this technique because chaining 4 then going back to my first chain technique hasn't been working out for me. This is such a great video.

    I've never heard of the magic circle before but it looks easier than the normal circle, which is really hard.

    I know this is an older video. I just came across it. You make crocheting so easy. Your directions are very clear. TFS

    Tried loads of scrubbies but found this the easiest and most memorable pattern. Even used it as a base pattern for larger circles

    I never comment on videos BUT you were so easy to follow, not sooo slow but not to fast. Your camera angle was perfect as I was able to see exactly what stitch ro ss !!! I'm going to try this now ! Thank you so much for a great video

    Is there any other way to make a circle without the magic circle?

      Rebecca Rose Johnson i think you Can make a Chain en close it with a slipstitch. And then work your way up

    I'm a beginner crocheter and have given these a go but I seem to have much bigger gaps than you do when crocheting the next round?? 😥 how can I get the tension correct?
