Hey, been following your video to setup my ip cameras at home. Got 3 c320ws and 1 c310. I also got a tp link poe switch tl-sg1005p but I've tried using the splitter just like you showed on 2:45 and, like you said, it needs the power cable on the other end to work. So, now I'm trying to got another splitter like the one on 9:35, but I'm confused because it looks like it does the same thing as the other. Could you please explain me why the first one need the power cable and the second one don't?
Hi, The first splitters, the white ones need you to have one of the splitters at each end because it uses two pairs of wires in the network cable to transfer the power from the wall brick that came with your device. The second type, the PoE splitter does not do this as it will get the power from the PoE switch as it has the electronics in it to tell the switch to provide power. You need to make sure your switch is a PoE switch for the second type, the PoE splitter to work.
Hi...at least for me there is no sound until about 8:00. It may just be my settings or dodgy Mac...but maybe you can check. I am interested in using TAPO outdoor cameras for my new home. I was going to use more expensive HIK vision cameras...but I've had a few TAPO indoor cameras and been very impressed with them (the app is great). The house will have LAN cabling so options are open if I were to use the POE splitter method. Any experience with the weatherproof durability of these cameras?
HI, Sound is good for my, comes in at 1 second ist. Not had any issues with the waterproofing on these so far, they are very well lealed on the back, the cable entry point in the bracked is fused with something like epoxy so there is no way any water is getting through that and the rest of the body of the camera seems very well screwed togther and solid.
Thanks for the info. Surely I can just use a POE injector and POE splitter. So CAT6 from router LAN port to POE injector then CAT6 from POE injector to the POE splitter and I should be good I think? My application only requires two c320ws camera's.
New to your channel and looking at using Poe on the very same cameras 2x c310's to a Reolink NVR. Trouble is, I'm worried about frying the cameras as the splitters are 12v and the camera supply is 9v. Wondering what the solution is. Just noticed you mention this. Maybe source a 9v version then
Just an update on this... I have found some info on Reddit with some people using a supply voltage of 12v. It turns out the C310's power converter IC has a Vmax of 18v DC. So 12v should be ok from a cheap 12v splitter. I'm going to run this anyway.
I did get the tapo cameras working on the PoE Adapters. i cant post a link to the adapter I used in here but if you look in the about section on the channel you can ping me an email and I will give you a link.
Thanks, I found this very informative. I came across this looking for a solution for my TP Link Cameras. You did mention trying it on a Deco unit. If you did was it a success?
For tapo camera C5xx series there is a poe splitter directly from tp link that can do 12v 9v 5v TL-POE10R innexpensive too

Can you tell me if you managed to make the Tapo camera work on a POE splitter? If so, which splitter did you use? Greeting

I've added a link you can copy and paste in the description.
@@glanoe I send you email.

Hi, have you got another link for the 9v splitter, the one in the comments seems to have expired. Thank you

This is the one i've ordered this week, its a multi voltage one so you can select 9v.
