I don’t know if I understand your question right. English isn’t my language
Put a bit of pressure on the pen while drawing, not to much so it won’t break.
You need to draw, let's say 3-4 times over on part, so the color gets to look so smooth without gaps but you need to, like
Draw, then stop, then draw again on the same spot again and again... also draw in different directions on the same spot, like if you did it up and down you need to draw over it from left to right, until the color is like you want it to. You HAVE to stop and draw over it again, to get this clean effect / result, don’t just draw in one swing, you understand what I mean?
This technique is enough to get a beautiful clear shade of color. The right pencils are Importen too. The Name "Faber Castell" is REALLY good for this, you can get the effect with it, maybe he also uses them, I don’t know.
Then it depends what you want for your drawing to look like, so maybe then you need to use different colors, like for example Blue and green to get a Special blue with green effect or whatever
