Just a friendly tip, you should read abilitiy descriptions to know what they do. For example focused thrust helps to raise the stagger gauge while braver is more damage focused and best used when the enemy is already staggered
Marz, you also need to: - Use more magics. Some magics stagger enemies easy or deals heavy damage. You should press X in battle and slow things down to think tactically. If something’s not working then come at it from another angle (or character). hacking away with Square is just a way to fill up the ATB gauge. Love your playthroughs! I’m excited for you to experience this amazing story! :)
Great to watch. Don't forget to switch characters/command allies and use abilities more often, especially during bosses. On normal mode, dynamic strategy is the key.
This game holds a special place in my heart me and my mum qued up for this game back on 1997 for the PS1 beat the game numerous times and loved it ever since, just got the remake and loving it again so much memories of this game. The scorpion boss took a while because your regular melee and shoot attacks are not intended to be your main damage against the scorpion. you also have more than double the time anyone should need at 20 minute time limit. 30 minute limit is way way too long to kill everything and loot all boxes.

Here are some tips that will help make combat faster and more enjoyable: - Switch characters in battle regularly to make use of ATB actions. The regular square attack is used more just for charging your ATB bars than dealing damage. - Co-ordinating abilites/magic attacks with your characters is the best way to pressure and stagger an opponent,. For example, using thunder with Barret and then switching straight into Cloud and using his thrust attack will massively damage and pressure the enemy. - Don't feel too much pressure to use quick commands. So glad you are playing this!!!!! A fav youtuber buckling down for this epic.....finished it yesterday and all I can say is the games beautiful. You'll love it x
I think you mostly did very well. Something that stood out to me that would really help you during the boss fight is spending your ATB charges. Try to keep in mind that normal attacks really just tickles compared to magic and special abilities and mostly serve the purpose of filling your ATB gauge. For 90% of the fight your ATB gauge was full so you could've spent it on a couple Braver, Focus Shot, Fire and mostly Thunder (that's where most of your damage should come from). The scorpion would've died much faster if you capitalised on your abilities. Also you might've notice that every time you get an ATB charge, your character will flash turquoise for a second and it also makes a specific sound. So once you get used to it, you barely have to watch the gauge anymore. Overall great reactions, I especially like when you're commenting on the characters' banter. Can't wait to watch part two :)
Congratulations from Japan. You are now one of the famous Videogame RUclipsrs. I've watched your channel ever since you have about 10,000 subscribers, I am so glad as if it were my own.
Glad this is your first time truly experiencing FF7 and yes while the original will always have its place in our hearts I’m thrilled we finally have remake of this amazing game even if it’s only part 1 right now
I just purchased this with the dlc already installed,I'm playing this on my PS5 65"4K Nanocell T.V now. It looks amazing. I was thinking the same thing at that time to "Marz, there isn't any greenery anywhere. Then they showed the flower up close in the intro, and then I was like ohh ok. I'am so in love with this game now. Great video "Marz 👍
First RE3 and now FFVII, this month was really a punch to the nostalgia for us 90's kids, the original was so good that im sure she gonna love this remake.
FINALLYYYYY! Thanks for sharing this! I don't have a PS4 for now so you're my way of feeling this game atm. Love what they've do so far and looking forward for your next part!
I've always been interested in finally fantasy games but never committed to buying on and then playing it. So happy that you playing this one! It's absolutely gorgeous, plus your comments about clouds arms are amazing haha
You've missed out on some great games, not a surprise to see a gamer from the West who hasn't played Final Fantasy. Queers Of War and Call Of Booty rule here in America, the less thinking and the more action the better!
Gregory Alan Bailey I’m lost, is your comment geared towards me or her? I’m not a gamer. Also why is it not a surprise that I haven’t played them? Haven’t played gears of war either is that unusual.
I usually try so hard to avoid watching playhrough on RUclips because I want to play it myself and be surprise with what the game have to offer. But I'm so excited and can't resist from watching your playthrough. Keep it up, Marz XD
1:07:00 - humility... i also like that... really, RPGs are really to be learned if one wishes to play it... although having different battle styles... because this is real-time
Amazing video Marz , I waited your let's play to see if I will get the game ! They did a incroyable work on remaking the legendary PS1 game and that music, OMG is bring me back great memories.
Since Marz has been lucky enough to get a early access code, hopefully there won't be many people doing any backseat gaming because I for one really like seeing people figure it out for the first time. Even if this is the demo that we've all played.
@Oodama Chisengan I LOVE the fact that FFVII has the power to lure people into this genre. It did it for me 23 years ago and millions others and now it's doing it again for this generation. FFVII's world and characters are clearly appealing to many.
Damn, this was such a good game. Spent about a week completing it, trying not to miss anything (poor my gamer standard these days). First time playing a final fantasy and this was amazing. Think I will have to play it through again on hard mode. Took me a while to get used to the controls but once I did I was fully into it. Proper zoned out. I want more content added to it! Hope you enjoyed it as much as the world did! Absolutely EPIC!
This lady right here is the only let's play person on YT that carefully reads through game tips and doesn't waste half of the walkthrough mashing buttons, fucking around and having no idea how basic mechanics work...but to balance things: doesn't ask to excuse herself for hiccups.
Hey Marz. You did an amazing job first time round. Was fortunate to get this game early so am about 12 hours in. All I'm going to say is it's the best game I've ever played you're absolutely going to fall in love with it. You're always on a learning curve but don't worry you'll pick up some badass skills pretty quickly. Can I make a couple of suggestions .Its often so frantic but going into your battle menu as much as possible slows things down to help you consider you're most effective options. Also using L2 and R2 to issue commands to party members to use magic and items without swapping characters makes things so much easier. Make sure you restock your potions hi potions and ether . Thanks for the playthrough Marzzy. Hope I've not sounded too bossy. Can't wait for the next episode :)
I'm excited. The original was my favorite game. Goodness that was so long ago. I was 16 and now I'm old AF. Time flys when when you have to battle one winged angels. crazy to think similar things are happening in are world. And sadly I joined a Shinra like group and fought for the greedy one winged angel and we won😢 Life's strange
I've never actually played a final fantasy game. A friend of mine has recommend I think about it for my channel, so this will definitely help me decide if it's right for me! I've always been curious about final fantasy though, but admittedly the graphics, although beautiful, aren't quite my preference. Thank you, Marz!
I love the series. If you can, try one. You may like it. You can start with any one of them, not really a chronological series. Maybe pick one that seems the coolest to you at first glance, lol, and really go at it.
You did great! But as everyone is saying, pay attention to your ATB bars, don’t let them stay at 2. R2 allows you to use your other characters ATB charge without switching to them. Can’t wait to see more!
Im watching your sekiro playthrough atm, dont know if u do this still, but you are very hard on yourself 🙂 you play the game super good, got first boss on 3rd try etc, very impressive stuff! You are a great gamer and good content creator, keep up the nice work 😄 best of luck to you !
okay but gotta appreciate the little smirk he did at 1:06:26 because I feel like he doesn't smile again for like the rest of the game except for one time I can remember :')
Can't wait for you to experience this! Final Fantasy VII is what made me get interested in games way back then, and I still consider it my favorite game of all time. Luckily the remake seem just as good.
"An look, there's no greenery anywhere." (reactor emits a green hue as the camera pans up to it as it belch out fumes and shows off it's strong green light)
Awesome playthrough so far! Enjoying watching someone playing this totally blind! NO SPOILER: each ability Cloud has has a description and Focused Thrust is good to build the Stagger gauge. Also, Jessie's bomb didn't cause the big explosion. Avalanche thinks it was them, but as you see in the cut scene, it was those bad guys in that office. As to why?...imma leave that alone.
You don't need to feel bad for not playing the game with quick commands. The game devs want you to play however is most comfortable, and accessing the menu is there for people to assess their options and read without feeling overwhelmed. On top of that, the slow-motion effect looks amazing. It is fully rewarding and engaging for viewers either way. So just have fun. You're doing fine.
I am pumped to experience the remake vicariously through you. You are an amazing human being, a very sensitive person and you will LOVE the story and know how to appreciate it, I am more than sure. As a longtime fan of the series, I am thrilled to see that some of you want to try the franchise for the first time. I will give you people some spoiler-free recommendations on which game to start with (out of the ones I played and/or know the most), it can be fun, though if this series is known for something, it is liberty and variety, there is no wrong pick if you ignore me :) *1) If battles are the predominant way you connect with a game and you are up to:* *1A) Experimental battles:* *FFII* - imaginative system to become stronger (depending on your behaviour in battle); this is the riskiest option I give, as the game is profoundly unbalanced; if you hate it, give another opportunity to the franchise, the rest won’t be so harsh with you. If you love it, good for you! *FFVIII* - one of the best OSTs in the series as well; the draw system may be a bummer; junction system is the same as the overall game; messy and charming. *1B) Solid battles:* *FFV* - has a MAGNIFICENT job system, battles are super fun *FFX-2* - one of the best battle systems in the series, it is extremely fun and balanced: both haters and lovers of this game agree about this. It also has jobs as the previous one I mentioned. You may enjoy it more (or less) if you play its prequel first. *FFXII* - I am well aware some people could praise the story, however I found it very good at the beginning but deflating non-stop after the first third of the game towards the end (personal opinion), that is why I put it here. Some of the BEST side-quests and optional content in the series. Gambit battle system is lots of fun and reliable. If you like the story more than I did and you are a “I have to complete it 100%” type of person, it can easily become your favorite and amuse you for +200 hours. It has a strong fan community even nowadays. *2) If you are story-driven:* Either *FFIV* or *FFVI* Both are some of the best of the franchise and almost everyone loves them. Top-notch plots, characters, music. Even if we are not focusing on battles here, they are fun and balanced in both games, but their stories are so good that they have to be put in this category. *3) If you are balanced and need a good mix of both battles and story:* *3A) You prefer contemporary or futuristic ambient:* *3AA) You prefer to be able to explore more during the story:* *FFVII original* - (its tone is very dark) best villain, good story, awesome, clever and infinite-possibilities materia system, well-rounded game overall. *3AB) You prefer to be told where to go and leave most of the exploration for a later stage:* *FFX* - (its tone is lighter than FFVII on a surface level, but don’t let that fool you, it is a beautifully sad game; my personal favorite); the MOST BALANCED and NEWCOMER FRIENDLY of the whole series. I would say in case my categories don’t bother you that much, this is the perfect starting point. It is also rather in the middle in terms of old-recent game. *FFXIII* - very well balanced game. Some people threw hate due to the linearity but I think it helps strengthen the story arch. I find the cast very likeable, some people hate them though. Some of the BEST battle system in the series. Story is emotional and beautiful though very convoluted and some may think poorly told (good raw material, bad execution). If you happen to like or love this game, you should try its sub-series, the three FFXIII games. *3B) You prefer classic-medieval:* *FFIX* - It is the favorite Final Fantasy game of most of the original developers of the series, they put the most effort on it to revive the classic late 80s to mid 90s episodes. One of the favourite of the fanbase as well. Story is ok, but the character development is AMAZING, it has some of the most likeable and deep characters you will find in a videogame. Its world is the most carefully designed of all the games; it is a work of art. The most beautiful Final Fantasy. ------ I have not addressed FFI, FFIII, FFXV or the online ones FFXI and FFXIV because I have not played them or not enough. Out of those, it seems FFXIV has the best critique and FFXV story’s pace is all over the place and feels rushed or incomplete, as far as I have read. I hope you find this chunk entertaining and interesting to read and helps you make a decision. Have a good day you all and waiting for the next part of your series Marz :)
I will be playing this myself, so I will watch these videos once I finish playing or at least only watch til the points I get to. But I promise I will watch these and they will be an instant favorite series
I have mine early! ❤ I started playing it Live the moment it arrived! Thanks, Square Enix! But with that said, I am really enjoying it so far. The 1997 one is somewhere in all my junk, so I better find it and probably play it parallel to this one...if my PlayStation still works, hahaha. But I doubt it. 😂
This is going to be a great journey, with all the problems going on with the world, glad that we have this game now and your playthrough. Can't wait to see what you think of ff7. Thanks a lot :)

Remember that you can use the ATB commands with your allies in the party by pressing L2/R2 during a battle.
Glad this is your first time truly experiencing FF7 and yes while the original will always have its place in our hearts I’m thrilled we finally have remake of this amazing game even if it’s only part 1 right now
Luckily I'm ahead of you enough to actually watch this without spoiling myself...but I do know there are moments in this game you're going to love.
As someone whose already had time to master the combat. Quick tip. U can make ur teammates do special attacks without switching by using L2 and R2
how?
😱😱😱YESSSS I Can’t wait to get into the game myself. This is gonna be another fun play through to watch
The soundtrack is so good it makes me feel nostalgic even though I never got around to play the game when it came out 😁
me too
12 AM: Time for bed.
Marz uploads:
Me: What’s sleep?
It was 7AM for me when she uploaded
2-3 AM here lol
Simp
I love the game ... SO much .. so nostalgic, so beautiful.
I usually try so hard to avoid watching playhrough on RUclips because I want to play it myself and be surprise with what the game have to offer. But I'm so excited and can't resist from watching your playthrough. Keep it up, Marz XD
Finally!! Ive been looking forward to this since the demo version of yours (it was so entertainin')
I am so glad you snagged this AND that you made a video of it for us!
I've never been more excited for a playthrough. So glad mine came early today so I can watch without spoilers :D
AAAAAAAAA Dammmmmm, nice that you have received a key to show us! Congratz and Let's have fun!
1:07:00 - humility... i also like that... really, RPGs are really to be learned if one wishes to play it... although having different battle styles... because this is real-time
Amazing video Marz , I waited your let's play to see if I will get the game ! They did a incroyable work on remaking the legendary PS1 game and that music, OMG is bring me back great memories.
im very happy for you to have this early. i think you will understand why this game is beloved by a countless amount of people.
Awesome my favorite Tuber playing my all time game, you are the best! You will do great, GL!
Since Marz has been lucky enough to get a early access code, hopefully there won't be many people doing any backseat gaming because I for one really like seeing people figure it out for the first time.
Even if this is the demo that we've all played.
Great video marz, you look like your having fun, can't wait for the rest of your walkthrough!
Awesome that you're doing this!
Normal difficulty is a good choice because easy mode battles would be a bit boring to watch.
I love the time they gave for the soundtrack to remain in the background.. keeps you pumped up for a while
Came here after watching a ff7 veteran play, and the experience is so much different lol.
Absolutely EPIC!
well idk if you know this already but more content is being added to it, they're making a part 2
@@PenguinsAreColdish Oh yeah I heard, any idea when?
Thanks for playing this game, I enjoyed the gameplay and the commentary. I'll definitely watch this more in the future
This lady right here is the only let's play person on YT that carefully reads through game tips and doesn't waste half of the walkthrough mashing buttons, fucking around and having no idea how basic mechanics work...but to balance things: doesn't ask to excuse herself for hiccups.
So glad I found you! Best playthru ever! Luv you!
"OH, I'M INSIDE OF YOUR BODY...Oh! I'm inside of your body!" LOL
...........
Same,but since I played the demo,I'm definitely getting it.👍
@@ClaireYunFarronXIII there's no need to start at number 1? I think I'll look into the demo, at least to give it a try 😊
@@Deedric_Kee that sounds promising, I will check the demo out ☺️
@@xJuliettex Hopefully you enjoy it! 🤗💖❤
I was just thinking about going to bed. Now I have to see you play this babe. Hell Yeah✨🙌
You did great! But as everyone is saying, pay attention to your ATB bars, don’t let them stay at 2. R2 allows you to use your other characters ATB charge without switching to them. Can’t wait to see more!
I never played the original FF7 but I'm super excited I get to vicariously play the game through Marz!!!!!
Love your sweet sporadic little "guys, isn't this just the best?" glances at the camera ^_^
You really resemble Aerith. You should consider cosplaying if you got the jacket!
It's really happening.... sooner than I thought!
So happy to see you happy!
Can't wait for you to experience this! Final Fantasy VII is what made me get interested in games way back then, and I still consider it my favorite game of all time. Luckily the remake seem just as good.
It is good as original. Ian telling you
Wooo let’s get it Marz!!!🥳🥳😟🔥🔥 Barrett’s voice actor is priceless I love it!!!
I am very happy to see you, my favorite youtuber, playing my favorite franchise !! Final Fantasy is the love of my life LOL :)
The voice actor for wedge, is the guy who plays the character badger in breaking Bad, (i don't remember his name).
Matt L. Jones pal
Looking stunning as always Marz, hope you're doing well
That she does comic
Justin Williamson alright Justin, how you doing?
Just chillin watching Marzs upload overall not bad how are you going?
Justin Williamson pretty good, especially considering we get a Marz video first thing in the morning
simp
This game looks so good. Got to be honest, I don't know that much about FF but i'm excited to watch your playthrough.
My favorite Let's Player playing my Favorite Franchise of all time. Oh my goodness, Marz, that's why we love you!!!
You would make an amazing Aerith cosplayer, haha. You and her have a lot of similar features.
Excellent Narration absolutely love FF7 thank you so much for posting this Marz 😊 Your hard work is appreciated take care of yourself and Luka 😊
It was my first time playing it!
I actually cant wait for you to play this series. Music will and always be great from this game!
Keep up the good work, Marz! Much love from France!
I am pumped to experience the remake vicariously through you. You are an amazing human being, a very sensitive person and you will LOVE the story and know how to appreciate it, I am more than sure. As a longtime fan of the series, I am thrilled to see that some of you want to try the franchise for the first time. I will give you people some spoiler-free recommendations on which game to start with (out of the ones I played and/or know the most), it can be fun, though if this series is known for something, it is liberty and variety, there is no wrong pick if you ignore me :)
*1) If battles are the predominant way you connect with a game and you are up to:*
*1A) Experimental battles:*
*FFII* - imaginative system to become stronger (depending on your behaviour in battle); this is the riskiest option I give, as the game is profoundly unbalanced; if you hate it, give another opportunity to the franchise, the rest won’t be so harsh with you. If you love it, good for you!
*FFVIII* - one of the best OSTs in the series as well; the draw system may be a bummer; junction system is the same as the overall game; messy and charming.
*1B) Solid battles:*
*FFV* - has a MAGNIFICENT job system, battles are super fun
*FFX-2* - one of the best battle systems in the series, it is extremely fun and balanced: both haters and lovers of this game agree about this.
*2) If you are story-driven:*
Either *FFIV* or *FFVI* Both are some of the best of the franchise and almost everyone loves them. Top-notch plots, characters, music. Even if we are not focusing on battles here, they are fun and balanced in both games, but their stories are so good that they have to be put in this category.
*3) If you are balanced and need a good mix of both battles and story:*
*3A) You prefer contemporary or futuristic ambient:*
*3AA) You prefer to be able to explore more during the story:*
*FFVII original* - (its tone is very dark) best villain, good story, awesome, clever and infinite-possibilities materia system, well-rounded game overall.
*3AB) You prefer to be told where to go and leave most of the exploration for a later stage:*
*FFX* - (its tone is lighter than FFVII on a surface level, but don’t let that fool you, it is a beautifully sad game; my personal favorite); the MOST BALANCED and NEWCOMER FRIENDLY of the whole series.
*3B) You prefer classic-medieval:*
*FFIX* - It is the favorite Final Fantasy game of most of the original developers of the series, they put the most effort on it to revive the classic late 80s to mid 90s episodes. One of the favourite of the fanbase as well. Story is ok, but the character development is AMAZING, it has some of the most likeable and deep characters you will find in a videogame. Its world is the most carefully designed of all the games; it is a work of art. The most beautiful Final Fantasy.

I have not addressed FFI, FFIII, FFXV or the online ones FFXI and FFXIV because I have not played them or not enough.
I really hope they remake final fantasy x just because I want to see Marz play it. Final fantasy x is an amazing game.
Matt L Jones does the voice of Wedge, he was Badger on Breaking Bad yeah
Kyle Pilkington Brianna white does the voice for Aerith, she’s a RUclipsr, her channel is Strange Rebel Gaming. She does a lot on twitch nowadays though
press L2 to get a minimap. def helps more then the compass. atleast for me when wanting to see if i truly explored everything before advancing
3:02 prepare for the magic epicness feelings and emotions of Nobuo Uematsu's work(remade) 😍❤️
Thanks for the amazing content. Final fantasy is one of thee most amazing games 👌👌👌. And the scary part is if you pause the video in the beginning and put u next to her u look exactly like her...
Yessss! Glad to see you are starting this!!
Marz with the double upload 🙌🙌
Remember that you can use the ATB commands with your allies in the party by pressing L2/R2 during a battle. Overall ATB gauge is really important, try to make use of it efficiently, that way battles will become even more sparkly fireworkly (and will end faster lol).
Can't wait on your reaction to some of the stuff in this game
