  • The UK Overseas Territory of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Island is home to tens of millions of seabirds and marine mammals, as well as diverse plant and invertebrate communities and marine ecosystems.
Located in the sub-Antarctic, the islands of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Island are of hemispheric importance as key breeding sites for wildlife that migrates across the entire Southern Ocean.
This film explores the environmental threats which South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands have faced, and the inspiring conservation work that continues to be undertaken to safeguard these islands a more secure future.
Produced by the South Georgia Heritage Trust, in partnership with the Don Hanson Charitable Foundation and the Friends of the British Overseas Territories.

I’m so grateful for people who care about the earth and wildlife. Without those two things humans can’t exist neither and people find that hard to understand.

excellent video Stewart. When you said they dropped poison I said uh oh, but it sounds like the program was successful. That there is a follow on plan for educating and preventing is huge and, to be honest, refreshing.
