Well, the thing is that the Aussie economy is still pretty solid and we're used to paying a lot to see bands touring from the USA and elsewhere. Ironically the last time Steve was here with a band we were in the middle of a recession! Anyway. I'm glad I got to see Steve here solo a few months back.
Plane fares are still high, and I know even in a good economy, I would hesitate at a $100 ticket (US or Australian), and there is no one I would rather see live. I appreciate that he tries to keep his concerts accessible to us lower wage ans, but know it is a bummer for you down under. Maybe you can gather some wealthier fans to help underwrite his next tour!
Yeah, I love Steve, but they definitely weren't rockin' down on Telephone Road this night. Sorry, but I don't think they've been doing a whole lot of rocking since "Yoko's" joined the band.
Well I paid $90 to see Ryan Adams solo at a sold-out Perth Concert Hall show so I suspect there is a market. He's been here with a band before, I'd just like to see him with this line-up.
He has said he can't afford it in this economy - and at least in the US, he tries to keep the prices lower and still doesn't sell anywhere near the tickets that Adams does.
😊

I was at that show at Jepensen Stadium. I was a huge Savoy Brown fan.

If he did, ticket prices would be unaffordable. I am sure he would if he could.
