The funny part about the 2002 team was that both Ronaldo and Rivaldo weren’t in their prime. Ronaldinho was still rising up, Kaka was too young. And Scolari didn’t even called Romario. Now, both Cafú & Roberto Carlos were in their prime, also Keeper Marcos was too.
I would say both Ronaldo and Rivaldo were past their prime, though still great level. Still, as a brazilian there are no words to describe how we all miss that era...

Juninho. The best set piece specialist I've ever seen. You have a better chance of saving a penalty from him than to save a free kick. Messi, Beckham, Hakan, Ward Prowse, Ronaldo, Henry and Pirlo have nothing on him in free kicks.
One of the best midfiled in modern history (and surely the best freekicker !) ! The fact that he stayed in Lyon for so long shows that this man is one of his kind.
Juninho was amazing. I'm sure he would've got closer to a Ballon d'Or if he played for Barca or Real but he made a great era for Lyon which will make him a saint in that city forever.
Hey buddy, I grew up in England during Beckham's manchester united/ England captain days. He was my favourite player and he is truly one of the greatest ever free kick takers in history. As much as I dislike Brazil (because of the fans and not the players), Juninho Pernambucano can NEVER BE MATCHED ON FREE KICKS. Eternal GOAT of set-pieces. Unlike David Beckham, Lionel Messi and Michel Plattini, Juninho had NO RANGE LIMIT. I saw him score from 41 yards and a week later from 37. The following season, he scored two free kicks in the same game and both from exactly 34 yards. One in each half (he only attempted two direct free kicks in that game and scored both).
Yeah, you did Zico, now Juninho. You have to complete the trilogy of the free kick goats with Marcelinho, perhaps the best of the three in free kicks shooting.
My 3 biggest regret as a Lyon fan. 1: The game against the PSV. Our team was stacked and we could’ve won the UCL. In Lyon we keep saying as a joke that there was a penalty on Nilmar 2: the game against ac Milan where we’re being eliminated thanks to the error of Abidal who covers the offside of Sheva and allows him to assist Inzaghi who scored the dagger 3: the treatment of the board and notably Aulas. Juni had allows us to sign Paqueta and Guimaraes. He also was the only one who advocates for the coach to play in the starting 11 Gusto and Lukeba. We’ve been able to compete for the title against Lille and PSG. Juni helps Lyon to be competitive and be able to win the title. He also helped to the a UCL semi final during the final 8 and he saved the poorly financial situation of the club thanks to the sale of Bruno G, Paqueta, Gusto and Lukeba. But he was brutally sacked and criticized in the press by the president Aulas. That’s something that left a profound scare in him and prevented him to come back to Lyon when the new owner Textor asked him
Amazing video! I understand that Serie A strikes your videos, so I'll stop asking for the Inzaghi video 🤣 Maybe make a video on Didier Deschamps? The original water carrier 6 who had "no talent" but was the true anchor of his team.
You've already made videos about two very good Brazilians, but unknown internationally, Zico and Alex. One suggestion, there is a very high level player but probably even less known, Ademir da Guia. He deserves a video too.
Ademir, good shoutout. Zico was well-known enough in the Lusophone world but I think he needs to be featured nonetheless (he wasn't yet, was he?). Another missing name is Cafu, absolutely no idea why he's never been featured just yet.
Juninho was one of the best free kickers, but in Brazil we had others on same level or even better, like Marcelinho Carioca that scored more goals, from more different positions and angles. He was called as “angel foot”
in 2000 when i was a kid who believe that Beckham is the best freekick taker. and then i found out Highlight videos from ligue1 i got my jawdroped this guy is sureal. Magic
Juninho‘s Freekicks were honestly like penalties for other players. Absolutely unreal freekick taker ! For me, he‘s the master of the knuckle ball. The way he embarassed Oliver Kahn and the way he scored against Pep‘s Barça who would end up becoming sextuple winners will always remain legendary.
You have this great way to tell a storie or facts like Sir David Attenborough. I really think you do great content even if i have sensed that my beloved Juventus is not your taste but that is nothing new to us we know either love or hate.I do want to say i have not sensed hate from you just distaste. Juninho is the best freekick taker i have seen but i would take Pirlo over him just becase i think Pirlo is a little better in open play but Juninho is world class. You love a challenge do a video of Gaetano Scirea. I have just been a fan ofJuventus since like 92 but have studied and Scirea is something speciall. Keep up the great work iam grateful of you. Fino Alla Fine Forza Juve
As noted in the video, he was so dominant at free kicks that teams had to come up with new tactics to try defend his free kicks in Ligue 1. As Fred noted, teams became more cautious with their fouling.
Before Juninho arrived in 2001, Lyon had 0 Ligue 1 titles, 3 french cup titles and 1 french supercup title. When he left in 2009 they had 7 Ligue 1 titles, 4 french cup titles and 7 french supercup titles. Since he left, Lyon managed to win two trophies: the French Cup and the Supercup in 2012.
I wish ea would give this man a hero card he definitely deserves it, people only downplay him because he played most of his football in France and not a top European team but he’s the greatest freekick taker of all time 🤦♂️
Yes, the likes of Messi, Maradona, Pele, Ronaldinho, Zico, Pirlo, C. Ronaldo, Ceni, Koeman or maybe some of you ever heard Assunção are amazing at freekick, and yes some of recent era have a talent for it, but not any of them come close to this man. His consistency and variety of his freekicks are unmatched from curling or dipping short range, to powerful knuckleball long-ranged shot, etc. you name it, he can do it all with ease.
I remember in 2005-2006 when this GOAT being calm and composed shreds the other team with long shots and free kicks. Should check stats of Freekick failures/total Freekicks taken. It would be record low compared to any player. Lowest Margin of Error. Not only that his pass accuracy that includes Long pass especially was incredible.

@@dazzaMusic Go check his free kick statistics. He created occasional long range bangers but it wasn't that consistent at all.
@@dazzaMusic He freely admits it was a fluke, he wasn't trying to do that and he could never replicate it with a million attempts. It was a lucky mishit.
Amazing to see how you seem to respect and know brazilian football, with great images e stories well told!
Juninho. The best set piece specialist I've ever seen. You have a better chance of saving a penalty from him than to save a free kick. Messi, Beckham, Hakan, Ward Prowse, Ronaldo, Henry and Pirlo have nothing on him in free kicks.
Vasco da Gama and nothing else 💢
The king of the hill 🤴
One of the best midfiled in modern history (and surely the best freekicker !) ! The fact that he stayed in Lyon for so long shows that this man is one of his kind.
My grandpa whos 90 requested u do dennis law. I told him about you, and he said u had real ball knowledge lol. ur a great yt, keep it up
o Reizinho 👑🤍🖤
Juninho was amazing. I'm sure he would've got closer to a Ballon d'Or if he played for Barca or Real but he made a great era for Lyon which will make him a saint in that city forever.
Really the goat of FKs
Always bought him in Fifa 08 manager mode lol
Can you make a video on Guti Hernandez please?
Yeah, you did Zico, now Juninho. You have to complete the trilogy of the free kick goats with Marcelinho, perhaps the best of the three in free kicks shooting.
My 3 biggest regret as a Lyon fan.
1: The game against the PSV. Our team was stacked and we could’ve won the UCL. In Lyon we keep saying as a joke that there was a penalty on Nilmar
2: the game against ac Milan where we’re being eliminated thanks to the error of Abidal who covers the offside of Sheva and allows him to assist Inzaghi who scored the dagger
3: the treatment of the board and notably Aulas. That’s something that left a profound scare in him and prevented him to come back to Lyon when the new owner Textor asked him
Maneira! What a great player and great human being. In near future (and yes there is a free kick connection here) please feature Dirceu!
Percentage attemp/hit Juninho is the GOAT of FK.. He above all player who ever tried FK
Amazing video! I understand that Serie A strikes your videos, so I'll stop asking for the Inzaghi video 🤣
Maybe make a video on Didier Deschamps? The original water carrier 6 who had "no talent" but was the true anchor of his team.
Deschamps was Makelele before Makelele. Similar playing style and physical stature.
Best Free kick taker ever, and it's not even close
Marcelinho Carioca. They were both the best free kickers soccer ever seen play.
Another missing name is Cafu, absolutely no idea why he's never been featured just yet.
one of the few players that's universally loved by fans worldwide
and he made his name in history, the greatest free kick taker of all time
He Was The Master Piece.
Juninho was one of the best free kickers, but in Brazil we had others on same level or even better, like Marcelinho Carioca that scored more goals, from more different positions and angles. He was called as “angel foot”
Love your story telling skills
My first memories of football : Champions league , Lyon , Juni free kicks.
A legend in football. Truly. It's sad to see the end of his career due to an injury.
I've never seen a video about Jardel, he deserves to be remembered.
in 2000 when i was a kid who believe that Beckham is the best freekick taker. and then i found out Highlight videos from ligue1 i got my jawdroped this guy is sureal.
He is a God!!!!
I have no words to express how good he was. Most underrated player ever
Putting Lyon on the MAP. Crazy work 🥶
My favorite player ever together with Romario, I freaking love juninho, obvously I'm a Vasco da Gama supporter lol
Please make a video on Ricardo kaka . He is one of my favourite players
Juninho Pernambucano it's the best Free Kick Taker of All Time with 77 Free Kicks Goals, he's truly and purely an underrated player.✌️
You are an amazing storyteller absolute genius the stories are amazing you express so much emotion can you make one for salem aldawsari
Juninho Pernambucano! ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was sadly Juninho's physcian, whe he had to tell him, his right leg was in fact a sniper rifle.
So many legendary players in that time period
hello i love your videos! please do a story on eriksen!
"So, listen to this". Never gets old.

So listen to this..
I said no I've have too much power ahh this is too much to handle
He was one of the names we used to pretend to be on the playground at school. How he strikes the ball still baffles me now!
