Hi Tim, glad your onions and garlic have done so well, thinking about your cauliflowers and squashes, I would be inclined next year to start some seeds off in modules so you can plant them out when they are a bit more established and less likely to get munched to oblivion while still tiny and avoid wasting seeds at the same time. All the best Izzy
That is brilliant advice thanks Izzy, I definitely need to be making more plans next year and definitely making more lists and to-do's so that I as you say don't waste seeds but also time. Hope you're doing well :)
I've been binge watching all your videos and have finally caught up, you have come along way on your allotment and your shop as well, thanks for keeping me entertained, as I don't watch TV any more I'd rather watch more wholesome videos like yours on RUclips. I would love to see a video on that red onion chutney, or any cooking videos in general, even one at the allotment would be good.
That is really lovely to hear, and please let me apologise for the lack of videos for you to watch to continue the journey. Time has been very stretched recently and there always seems to be an obstacle or three that hinders any kind of filming. I absolutely love the idea of adding cooking to the videos, and was thinking about getting something portable to use up at the plot so will add it to my list and I'm sure once I'm back up and running I can do that, I really love cooking. Thanks once again and see you on the next one! Tim
Yes protect your pumpkin seedlings, First hint of rain and the slugs and snails will munch the lot. Liked the transition from shop Tim to allotment Tim, nice. Cauliflowers have heads.
Ah yes heads, not balls, thanks for that! Glad you appreciated that part, certainly amused myself! Will take a look at getting some netting and looking after everything better. Definitely need to start things in modules next year as Izzy has suggested to give them a fighting chance
For slugs I use beer traps. Shouldn't get too much problem off them in this weather though. Might be worth putting some netting over to stop the pigeons eating your cauliflower leaves.
I'll have to look into beer traps, sounds like it's up my street! A couple of folks at the allotment suggested more netting last night as I was watering up, so there's definitely a trip to Wilkos on the cards!
@@MyCarbonCoach I could do with some myself. Picked up some for free but could do with more. Just sink a few old containers into the soil and pop a bit of cheap lager in and that's it!
Your plot is looking great, considering you were disheartened by the weeds not so long ago, you must've worked really hard. The lavender is stunning. Will you be drying the flowers to use for anything?
Thank you, yep I've been making full use of the lovely evenings we've been having recently! I am indeed, I'm going to be drying some out so that I can add them to some soy wax melts I'm going to start making in the shop. Also Rach is going to press some too in her flower press!

Most of my lavender is doing great as well!
Woohoo I'm really happy to hear that!

Have you tried egg shells and coffee grinds to deter slugs from your pumpkins. It worked for my courgettes 😁
