64 was the worst. The Queen was looking at you. Not the camera, or the fourth wall, *you*. She was openly mocking you for leaving the world without getting all the shards, and no one else knew what was about to happen. I got it once, intentionally missing a shard the level before Miracle Matter. Needless to say, that was the only time I did.

I'm just gonna say this. The previous to last doodle in 64 Shards, the Zero Two one, it's incredibly unsettling and such a deep twisted thing for a kids game... You don't even know who he is, yet he is still there. Looking and smiling at you. Kirby 64 is genius when it comes to subtle horror and dark themes.
Mother of god that Kirb 64 sends shivers down my spine. I think they used the same exact sound in the bad end for Kirb Star allies’ final DLC, where if you get les than 100 hearts at the end it shows the corpses of the 3 mages just lying on the floor and that noise plays and it fades to black.
That dlc is a nightmare! The bosses are very hard and getting all the hearts is so hard some of the stuff you need to do to get them feels more like a octo expansion challenge!

Also the boss rush in Dreamland 3 has it's own bad endings so to speak. If you lose to one of the bosses you get a picture of Kirby generally being humiliated by the boss in some way. For an instance losing to Whispy causes Whispy to drop an eggplant on Kirby's head. The funniest one though is if you lose to Dedede and he smashes Kirby's face in with his hammer.
I don't why, but I just love how that if you don't get all Crystal Shards, the credits show a smily angel thing, which, if you end up beating the game, is actually a sketch of the face Zero 2 makes before the fight(creepy) and that picture in the credits is instead replaced with a Zero 2 crying blood.

I feel I need to clarify what's going on in the bad endings of dreamland 1, 2 and 64. Dreamland 2's plot consists of the first appearance of Dark Matter stealing the Rainbow Bridges that connect the islands on Planet Popstar. Dark Matter then possessed King DeDeDe. The collectible in this game comes in the form of Rainbow Drops. If you don't have all of them by the final fight with DeDeDe, Dark Matter stays in possession of the king, and you get the Bad Ending. Obtaining every collectible of the game grants you the Rainbow Sword, an ancient artifact crafted by the Rainbow Drops. This is the only weapon Kirby has to properly fight and damage the Dark Matter that possessed the king. (0:05) Dreamland 3's plot involves a Dark Matter cloud/storm shattering through Planet Popstar's rings, and proceeding to corrupt everyone and everything on the planet, as far as the cloud can reach. This includes every boss you fight in the game. The collectible this time comes in the form of Heart Stars, which are obtained by fulfilling the specific task of each level. After fighting a boss in a world that you got every collectible from, you will force the Dark Matter to flee from the boss, and they become friendly from then on. Failure to force all of the Dark Matter away results in the Dark Matter Storm never leaving, and again, the King would still be possessed. (4:10) Finally, Kirby 64's plot involves Dark Matter seeking out its only true weakness, the Crystal Shard, and destroying it. This Crystal Shard was protected on Ripple Star, a planet of Fairies, and while one fairy, Ribbon, tried to escape from the planet with the Crystal Shard, Dark Matter swatted her, and the Crystal Shard onto Popstar, essentially shattering the weapon. Failure to collect every shard results in the discovery that Zero Two himself had possessed the Fairy Queen, and Kirby end up handing the weapon over, unknowing of the possession. This would result in Dark Matter having no weapon to defeat the hive leader that was Zero and/or Zero Two. (11:19)
I wish there were more bad endings. An awesome surprise to complete the game, then get your heart broken because you failed to complete a good ending, which only burns your spirit into getting right back into the game again, and getting the *right* ending that you wanted! 👌👍
In every Kirby game except Chrystal shards ( cuz of that one damn shard some of you know the one) I never had gotten a bad ending because I was scared of what might happen to the little puffball

The bad ending to Super Star made me tear up. It was just too sad and I think Sakurai should direct one more Kirby game. I'm sure he could make another bad ending that's comparable, but it wouldn't come close in terms of quality to The Great Cave Offensive.

The first "bad ending" that I saw was from Kirby Dream Land 3, in my childhood. I was wondering who was that black eye. So I wanted to recollect all the Hearts. And I made a "fan cannon" that eyes of differents colors exists in that Universe (Not only that "black eye XD)

The bad ending on the N64 Kirby is very effective and comes fast and hard to process with mix of shock and equal to a jump scare. Just a simple yet creepy sound plus how it fades to black just as the queen turns her head possibly looking at Ribbon/crystal but fades in less then a second that it appears she's looking at you. A smug and wicked look that contrasts how she appeared seconds before. Doesn't need a message in writing that characters died or anything long and showy like other games bad end for the message be clear that something bad is about to go down. However based on recent Kirby games I wouldn't know if that was the intentional ending made as a squeal or DLC hook or the Queen is going to pull a fast one (Marx and Magolor) with a reveal she was evil & for some lore reasonings everything went to her exactly to her plans.
I found that final bossfight tune of kirby superstar just sounding sooo freaking awesome, it just sounds very fanatic and cool,it just has that puberty feel of it. While the gameboy version of that tune isn’t bad but it does sound more dramatic. Am mean just wow at how much different feel the snes game of kirby will have over the gameboy and nes games of it.
The funniest part is that most games shown are directed by Shinichi Shimomura, Kirby's Dreamland 2, Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64 are known as Dark Matter trilogy. Both bosses of Kirby Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64 are Zero and Zero Two , the creepiest real bosses of the story of this sweet pink ball

I feel I need to clarify what's going on in the bad endings of dreamland 1, 2 and 64.
Dreamland 2's plot consists of the first appearance of Dark Matter stealing the Rainbow Bridges that connect the islands on Planet Popstar. Dark Matter then possessed King DeDeDe. The collectible in this game comes in the form of Rainbow Drops. If you don't have all of them by the final fight with DeDeDe, Dark Matter stays in possession of the king, and you get the Bad Ending. Obtaining every collectible of the game grants you the Rainbow Sword, an ancient artifact crafted by the Rainbow Drops. This is the only weapon Kirby has to properly fight and damage the Dark Matter that possessed the king. (0:05)
Dreamland 3's plot involves a Dark Matter cloud/storm shattering through Planet Popstar's rings, and proceeding to corrupt everyone and everything on the planet, as far as the cloud can reach. This includes every boss you fight in the game. The collectible this time comes in the form of Heart Stars, which are obtained by fulfilling the specific task of each level. After fighting a boss in a world that you got every collectible from, you will force the Dark Matter to flee from the boss, and they become friendly from then on. Failure to force all of the Dark Matter away results in the Dark Matter Storm never leaving, and again, the King would still be possessed. (4:10)
Finally, Kirby 64's plot involves Dark Matter seeking out its only true weakness, the Crystal Shard, and destroying it. This Crystal Shard was protected on Ripple Star, a planet of Fairies, and while one fairy, Ribbon, tried to escape from the planet with the Crystal Shard, Dark Matter swatted her, and the Crystal Shard onto Popstar, essentially shattering the weapon. Failure to collect every shard results in the discovery that Zero Two himself had possessed the Fairy Queen, and Kirby end up handing the weapon over, unknowing of the possession. This would result in Dark Matter having no weapon to defeat the hive leader that was Zero and/or Zero Two. (11:19)

I wish there were more bad endings. An awesome surprise to complete the game, then get your heart broken because you failed to complete a good ending, which only burns your spirit into getting right back into the game again, and getting the *right* ending that you wanted! 👌👍

In every Kirby game except Chrystal shards ( cuz of that one damn shard some of you know the one) I never had gotten a bad ending because I was scared of what might happen to the little puffball

I hope Kirby bad endings were still a thing, they really added a cool, but unnerving feeling after you got one, and motivated you to replay the game.

The bad ending to Super Star made me tear up. It was just too sad and I think Sakurai should direct one more Kirby game. I'm sure he could make another bad ending that's comparable, but it wouldn't come close in terms of quality to The Great Cave Offensive.

The first "bad ending" that I saw was from Kirby Dream Land 3, in my childhood. I was wondering who was that black eye. So I wanted to recollect all the Hearts.

If you want to experience more fun (or terror) by Kirby 64's ending, you should go to whoisthisgit's channel, select Creepy Bad Endings #72, and then slow down the video at 4:39. :)
The bad ending on the N64 Kirby is very effective and comes fast and hard to process with mix of shock and equal to a jump scare. Just a simple yet creepy sound plus how it fades to black just as the queen turns her head possibly looking at Ribbon/crystal but fades in less then a second that it appears she's looking at you. A smug and wicked look that contrasts how she appeared seconds before.
Doesn't need a message in writing that characters died or anything long and showy like other games bad end for the message be clear that something bad is about to go down. However based on recent Kirby games I wouldn't know if that was the intentional ending made as a squeal or DLC hook or the Queen is going to pull a fast one (Marx and Magolor) with a reveal she was evil & for some lore reasonings everything went to her exactly to her plans.

I found that final bossfight tune of kirby superstar just sounding sooo freaking awesome, it just sounds very fanatic and cool,it just has that puberty feel of it.
While the gameboy version of that tune isn’t bad but it does sound more dramatic.
Am mean just wow at how much different feel the snes game of kirby will have over the gameboy and nes games of it.
