Shooting TAC, go for the Victory 3DHV. They’re the target version of the RIP XV and theyre 5.1gpi for the 500 spine and at 25” cut they’d be 127.5gr c2c. Throw an 80gr glue in point, a nock and three small vanes you’d be around 235gr TAW and on the shockey with your draw weight you’d be around 255-260fps. Nice and flat for the long range TAC course.

My wife is shooting 50lbs, 26.5” of draw and out of a Gold Tip Kinetic Pierce she is shooting the same weight but with weigh more penetration and out of the 4mm arrow now issue with the wind. Micro diameter for the win!!!!! Try a 100 gr insert with the 44 gr upfront insert/outset a foc of 14% is perfect. Best arrows for the money!!!

Great video! I have a 23 1/2 inch draw length at 60 lbs. I shoot Victory VAP GAMER arrows with 100g field point or broadhead. They are a small diameter arrow and have excellent penetration with plenty of speed.

Victory Archery XV arrows. Lightest gpi on the market. I've killed with it making 69ft/lbs. They're easier to get higher FOC for better long range flight and penetration.

I just built arrows on GT Velocity XT shafts. These are made in GT's mexican plant, not in china. When I tried to buy the DCA, the price with what I want plus shipping came out higher than I would like. Plus the fact, I enjoy building arrows.
The specs on my Velocity build is 400 spline, top hat 85gr points, GT inserts and nock (came with the dozen shafts), CB wraps and three with AAE MAX Hunter, and three with AAE Max Pro. Hunters were glued on with about a 2.5 degree offset. The AAE Max Pro were glued on straight. I use a Bitzenburger jig.
The Max Pro arrows performed better yesterday at the field range. Probably because of the smaller vane size and being without an offset. My son and I shoot through whisker biscuits. We haven't graduated to drop away rests yet. We didn't know back then if we would stick with archery. So we went cheap to start.
Would like to try USA made Easton shafts, but their shaft sizing is odd, and the components have to be purchased separately. Maybe next time. Several years ago, we'd lose arrows left and right. Now we don't so spending more on quality is not as much as a concern.

good to see someone promoting the short draw people 😁im also a short draw length im shooting a Mathews phase 4 29 55lbs 25.5 inch draw i did a few calculations today im based in Australia my current arrows i can get to about 90 yards with a spot hogg fast eddie xl single pin. specs are as follows .....
    TerraFirma Arrows 400 spine : 8.6 Gpi
    Outsert Weight : 60G
    Point Weight : 100G
    Bohning Heat Vanes : 6.1G (individual) Length : 2.5inch Height : 0.41 inch
    Bohning F Nocks Weight : 6.5G
    Weight: 408G ---- FOC: 17.60%
so thats my current setup. id be looking into the easton sonic 6.0 if i were you as they allow a good FOC and light arrow which may help you acheive longer ranges.
Specs on the Easton sonic 6.0 are as follows...
    Easton Sonic 6.0 400 spine : 7.2 Gpi
    Point Weight : 100G
    6mm St inserts : 18G
    6mm H nock : 9G
    Bohning Heat Vanes : 6.1G Length : 2.5 inch
My Build According to FOC Calc
    Weight: 333G ---- FOC: 15.23%
Congrats on the mule deer i was cheering in that vid!! Hope this info helps 😁😁!

I agree with blakebrowder5184 about checking out the Rip Xv or 3DHV from victory. They are essentially the same shaft with different labeling and slight component differences. The 500 spline runs about 5 gpi. My long range build consists of the XV Elite in 300 Spline (7.1 gpi) 120gr glue in points, 4 fletch bohning air vane for a TAW of 352gr with only 0.4gr difference from lightest to heaviest across a dozen. With my phase4 29 @70lb and 27.5 draw length, I can launch them at 302 fps.

Very helpful video!! I’m newer to hunting and also have a 24.5 draw length. I agree out of all the arrows I’ve tried..lower gpi is the way to go. Otherwise my arrow trajectory looks like a rainbow and is just not effective at all.

I would assume you could either increase poundage or decrease arrow weight for tac. For longer distance shooting. Perhaps lighter point weight and smaller vanes. To speed arrows up. I use 2.5 inch length vanes myself. No need to steer a broad head and a decent amount of helical also. Even in strong wind they still fly good. Those arrows are pretty light already but clearly work great. You hunting shots where dead on in the videos. Awsome job. Unless you changed to another bow that gives more speed with the lower poundage and draw length. Not sure what else can be done. I am curious to know what speed you hunting arrows where flying at? Look forward to hearing what you come up with.

I'm literally fletching up more arrows for my wife for TAC San Antonio. Goldtip velocity 600 spine cut to 24 inches with their regular insert and nock. 3 blazer vanes and 75gr point. I think its about 255gr T.A.W.
She is 24 inch draw and pulling 40lbs. She is using a spot hogg fast eddie double pin and gets to about 85 or 90 yards with bottom pin. I'm sure if we went with a 5 pin slider she'd get more distance.

Great setup. Low pound low weight low draw need a fixed head. If you are passing through your setup is correct.
The only thing I will disagree with is the flat trajectory.
It’s a common misconception but actually more momentum is a flatter trajectory. To a point you have to be below your diminishing returns. But once the arrow stops accelerating the more mass the more it retains its initial speed while a lighter mass object will lose it faster.
    It’s like that with everything.
If you are in diminishing returns than yes you get that rainbow that’s because the bow is over working to get very minimal gain.

Modern archery should never exceed 50 yards.
Setup doesn’t matter. There is way too much that can go wrong the further out you go and the longer the projectile is in the air the less effective it becomes.
Archery is a close range “”sport”” target is different but live animals is another ball game entirely.

Great narrative on what can be accomplished with equipment like this. It would be awesome if hundreds of younger people and women could see your video. Realizing that it doesn’t require a 70#+ draw and. 500+ grain arrow to kill a deer. ( you gotta stop punching. Maybe James could give some hard type punishment to break you of that)
