For some reason I’ve come to really like the Time Eater as of late; the concept of it being basically a roboticized eldritch abomination co-piloted by both Classic _and_ Modern Eggman was such a great twist on the “Monster of the Week” formula, and a perfect boss to close out this era of Sonic, even if the fight itself is contested. TL,DR: Point is, anytime I see a remix of the Time Eater’s theme pop into my subscription feed? It’s always a cause for hype :D
@@SilentDreamsMax Fair! Admittedly I do wish they did a bit more with its gaseous design besides just concealing its mechanized features. The render of the Time Eater showing up in Green Hill Zone specifically comes to mind.
@chrange9714 gonna be honest, there actually kinda is, it's not a "constant every game" thing, but it is actually kinda frequent, starting with Chaos in Adventure, kinda setting the formula with Dark Gaia and added a kind of "+ chart" system with the Zeti. The formula typically starts with "Eggman, either intentionally or by sheer accident, releases or instigates the major problem and seeks to control said problem for his own personal gain" and this problem either goes along with it until they get what they want (like Chaos), or they just aren't able to be controlled, being more a living Natural Disaster than a wild animal (like Dark Gaia) "Unintentional and Uncontrollable", or like in lost world with the Zeti, had found a means to control them and keep them in line, but ends up losing said means (the conch) by Sonic being Ignorant of the repercussions of getting rid of it and they immediately turn on him, being a Intentional Uncontrollable, Forces gets flack for its underbaked foe Infinite, but he's the best example outside of Metal Sonic of "intentional and Controlled" and by means of Sage, the Ancient Robots on the Starfall Islands during Fronteirs are at Eggman's command, but it seems he was unaware of said robots existing by means of his surprise during the opening cutscene when he gets sucked into the Digital Space (he did say that the "Starfall Islands secrets would be his" but its clear by his reaction that the robots were not something he remotely expected) technically making the Starfall bots an "unintentional and controlled" outside of The Titans (who sage can't fully control, but can at least get their attention and point them in Sonic's direction) and the End (something Sage cant even remotely control).
Honestly, i always felt that time eaters theme sounded more like a theme before a boss, rather than a theme for a boss, glad this remix makes it sound more boss-worthy.
To me, it actually sounds like the other way around where this remix sounds like a theme which has the final boss character appear, but you don't even fight him as a final boss yet, like Olly from Paper Mario.

Everything I’ve made is mixed with headphones! Trust me, to mix with speakers, you need a really good acoustic setup, I already have the speakers, but not the studio room. :P

You know it makes me realize how Generations was a missed opportunity to make not only a remakes of old levels, which greatly reduce what can you do, but should made a misshapen levels made of parts of different levels of different eras combined.

I personally just love the original design, before Eggman and Classic Eggman modified it to their needs.

Way to take a pretty unremarkable track from Generations’ otherwise incredible OST and turn it into something mind-blowing. Stellar work.
