Prasanna Virupaksha or Underground Shiva Temple, Hampi. The Prasanna Virupaksha temple dates back to the 14th century AD. The temple is dedicated to Prasanna Virupaksha, an avatar of Lord Shiva. The temple stands amidst a beautiful lawn covered in green.
The temple has remained buried for over four hundred years before it was discovered in the 1980’s decade. An inscription on a slab in a mantap records of grant to temple by Sri Krishnadevaraya in 1513 on the occasion of his coronation.

I had been to Hampi twice, in July and November. This was more than 10 years ago. Even then the water was there. Looks like it dries up in summer. It's very hot to visit Hampi in summer. Nice Hampi series. very well done. But the bg music was heavy in this one. Also, I don't think nirvana shatakam is really about praising Shiva. If at all your reason was to praise Shiva.

Super bro. Thank you. This temple might be built during the final years of Vijayanagara empire I.e Thalakottai war with Sultans. That is why they could not finish it. But this temple has a vast stretch of spaces. Thank you very much bro
