I have an original v2. Amazing sounds, almost impossible to get an unmusical tone out of it. Paired with my Grandmother it's analogue heaven.
looking forward for a NYX v2 reissue ! ... thanks 4 sharing !
You all dmake amazing instruments! Awesome to hear that these are pre-soldered! Sounds great.
Love my V2. Probably my favourite synth.
Ordered!
So juicy! Love it
When the Erebus v3 was discontinued, I was really sad. I had then emailed about availability and was told there was no information that could be provided, wink.
Suffice to say, order will be placed soon! :)
I have just ordered mine from Thonk! 😁
Glad to hear this is back. I have a few questions.
1. Is it still through hole construction?
2. I seem to recall that you couldn't detune the VCOs on the original to a perfect fifth, I assume this is corrected?
3. What exactly makes it warmer than before?
Erebus Reissue is using SMD components. Also, VCO Detune range is enough to tune it on a perfect fifth. Thanks ;)
I’d like to order one, and likely will, how does this compare to the V3??
I'm gassing for this reissue and also the Hades. Not sure I need them because I have the ARP 2600m and it can probably produce close to the same sounds. I also have the NYX v2 that kind of just sits there waiting to create specific sounds. Tell me why I need this or the Hades?
With analog synths there is no "need" there is only "want".
@@robertszordykowski4919 As it turns out I caved and got both because I deserve them haha!
Not need. The Hades is a limited version Erebus.
So even with the resonance all the way down, there’s obviously a significant amount of it, just like the other versions. Why???
is there a possibility to issue this a regular power supply, USB power is a constant problem with noise especially when you patch this with devices connected to the mains.
You have to use a good quality usb cable and plug directly into power adapter...not the computer. I use a iPhone plus and a USB with ferrite connectors. When I did that my noise when away.
mmmmm ... juicy. juicy bass there.
Both DIY kits priced out of reach for me so I'll continue my noodling on the Typhon.
Which sounds fantastic too! I'm not into the distortions though
Yep. That's the sound of an Erebus V2. Have 3 originals here. If anything maybe the delay is a little cleaner - but I'll have to get my hands on a reissue to compare. Hard to resist - even with 3 V2's and 4 V3's in my rig! Erebus might be my overall favorite in the Dreadbox line - but they are all so good. Built an entire dawless rig around nothing but Dreadbox standalone modules - 22 of them!
Hey Patrick! You trying to get rid of one of those V2 originals in preparation for the re-release? I'd happily buy it off ya! Cheers, haha
USB power again? Nah...
USB power is best because it makes them portable so you can run them from a battery pack. I take my Typhon to the park and make music setting under a shade tree.
