Typically with a lapel mic, you want to put it on the outside of your shirt (it looks like the mic is on the inside and against your skin, so any movement will rub against it and give it an awful grating sound, and it will block the audio). I'm not sure what you're recording the microphone too, but it also sounds like its being recorded way too loud, which is whenever you raise your voice, it sounds like your audio has lost all of its definition. If attached to your camera directly, those notoriously have awful audio recording settings, but try lowering the rcording volume on there and then boosting it louder in your editing software to avoid this. It also sounds like you applied a ton of denoiser to the audio too, which also gets rid of all of the bass in your voice. I don't want to sound too critical and just want to try to help! Because the audio in this gave me a headache (I'm a video guy and sensitive to this stuff).
The old mic seems to be better but that maybe just because of how you adjusted your new mic. Maybe after a few tweaks here and there it'll sound better but for now I'll settle with the old mic.

Ask MandR: What has the closest a Lego set has gone to where you could mistake it for another theme?
AskMandr: what do you think makes the best set for the scene/scenes it is based on? A good example might be Kylo Rens shuttle (2019) or a bad example might be UCS Hoth.
Previous sound was better, as for me. Keep doing! Btw, where is a Hoth series? We miss it.

Ask MandR: if lego made one of your dream lego sets, how much would you be willing to reasonably pay for it? and how much do you think it’d cost?
Regarding the skipped set numbers, LEGO would also be using those set numbers internally, to track sets. So like M&R said, cancelled or delayed, but also probably these sets receive a number early in the concept phase, and if a set doesn't make it through the concept phase, I imagine they still keep records of the work up to that point, both from a business proof-of-work standpoint, and for potentially revisiting the concept years later. Sort of like the Yavin-4 set.

Ask Mandr: Do you think that we could ever get a modular rebel/ imperial base. It could have turrets, a command center, barracks, and other stuff like that in it. I know I would love to have a set like that.
Ask MandR: For the cancelled sets; could the missing set numbers be due to packaging and instructions already having been produced? Different example, but I have seen this in the past when a music album would be released and the lyrics in the booklet would sometimes slightly differ from the actual song lyrics. That was because the booklets would be produced in advance and the lyrics were updated afterwards.
Ask MandR: Have you ever used StockX to buy lego sets? If you have, would you consider it a good place to buy sets?
The lapel mic sounds like it’s clipping a little bit, try turning down the input gain if you use an audio interface. If you’re recording into something like Audacity or Logic/GarageBand try adding some compression and light EQ as well as turning the output gain down.

Arm cracks are caused by moving the minifig's arms by pushing at the minifig's hands. Don't keep doing this. It causes stress. If you move the arms at the minifig's forearms/elbow, you'll be fine and won't get cracks. The science as to why the cracks happened dawned on me at like 7 years old, and no cracks since.
They NEED to include something along with sets like Yavin, the gunship and AT-TE where its just a 3 pack or 5 pack of figures, no more command centre bs just do it like how they've done it for other themes like pirates and ninjago, a booster pack that is only the figures no build to go along with the army build aspect. I can guarentee that nobody would complain buying their AT-TE and then buying 2 of the booster packs for 15$ each and getting an extra 10 212th clones to make their army suitable. It would make so much sense.

You can't buy sets brand new without the minifigures. Why? Because they are obviously in the box. It's not brand new if the box was opened. Opened at all. Whether it's to remove the minifigs or some parts or the instructions booklet. Your question is not valid

I would never buy retired sets on Amazon idk how those seller actually make money on there, when there prices are like double of that on eBay.
The most likely reason they don’t compress set numbers when they skip a few is that the numbers are probably used for internal product development tracking long before there’s an announcement made. So if you have a set that gets far enough along in development to be assigned a number but it gets canned, you’re still going to to want to keep all the documentation on it filed properly. Trying to swap numbers around or removing set numbers from these unreleased products just to make the released sets fully sequential would make indexing anything about the cancelled sets a pain later, since any internal system that references them would have to have that change cascade across any mention of the canned set. Not to mention any physical files about them that used the number they had in development would suddenly be referring to the wrong set.

They could, but they NEVER would, they want their rare products to retain value so that more high end expensive sets are sold, and for captain Rex, they are making a set for him in the fall, it is about $600 and is a ice ventador.
Would you ever consider collecting all hogwarts sets and making a comparison of each one? There have been many different versions over the years and it would be cool to see your review of each

Ask MandR: Love the videos! Any thoughts on the new 30th anniversary Jurassic Park sets? I personally think most of them are overpriced, especially when compared to previous Jurassic Park sets like the T-Rex Breakout (76956). Are molded dinosaur figures that expensive to manufacture, even when compared to the hundreds of pieces in the brick-built T-Rex from 76956, or are they just charging more because they know people will buy them out of nostalgia & a desire to have all the “30th anniversary” sets?
I was dumb a few weeks ago on Mercari. Lucky for me Mercari's policy is that they do not release the payment to the seller until the item is received, verified that it matches the listing, and the buyer leaves feedback. I lucked out. The seller provided a fake tracking number and Mercari attempted to contact the seller with no response and refunded my money.
Ask MandR: How much do you think I can get for an awesome 212th clone misprint? The torso and legs are fine, but the helmet looks nothing like what it’s supposed to. I’m guessing any Star Wars collector would love to have such a unique minifigure in their collection!

Totally agree. I feel like the best ones were the ones with more desirable figs (Hera, Maul, plain phase 2 clone, etc)

Some evidence against the combined release would be that the new set is only 100 or so pieces more than the original sets combined (The Ghost and Phantom II), so it is unlikely given other remakes recently like UCS X-Wing and AT-TE: given their piece counts went up by about 300

the old mic sounds better for sure, but its because this one is clipping a lot. either the mic is too loud, or whatever device you're recording into, the input gain/volume is too high and it clips the signal at times, causing distortion, or that "static" you described. I think the other mic has a fuller sound anyway too

if you were to do a complete history of lego Star Wars. you could split it up by every 5 years and when you release the first 20 years you’ve got yourself 4
1-hour long videos and you could also gauge if your fan base likes the documentary format.

It might look a bit awkward but you should have the lav mic hanging on the outside of your shirt. it might help with the sound

Book mic sounded better but their was some echo? I say stick to lapel and don’t mention it until you can get some noise defending material. Be interesting to see if they make noise cancellation AND shelves for display.
i actually don’t mind the natural sound with the rode! you could tell a noticeable difference, especially with how easily the new mic peaks. if you want to stick with the new mic, maybe check the gain and turn it down. if you’re using any compression tools, adjust it to where the audio isn’t as harsh. that aside, love the content!
You have to adjust the levels drastically. The old mic sounded better but that does not mean that the new mic has to sound bad. I could already tell that it completely removed the reverb in the room so that is a massive step forward but the mic is too ‚hot‘. So just lower the gain and you should be good. If your mic has a level Meter try to get it between green and yellow. Even if you shout it should barely touch the red. Hope this helps. I will never the less continue to love the channel. I looked back on 2012s Elite clone trooper battlepack which came with maroon rangefinder and sunvisor, exatcly the same design that is present now in sets (checked in person if it fits, works like a charm). Its amazing that in order to have accurate vaughn you have to own a set from 11 yrs prior
